I ordered a bed from rustic roots. They were always friendly and the communication was great. After my bed arrived it was relatively simple to put together and is quality is great. Would definitely order again.

We had no issues with delivery and when I asked about it (due to moving) we received a quick response. The courier was really nice and helpful with the delivery and kept us updated.

The bed and cabinets look really posh and of good quality.

Good Craftsmanship & Service

After reading some mixed reviews, I initially hesitated to order, but after communicating with David, I felt confident moving forward. I had specific customizations in mind for a rustic king-size bed, including a matching console table with precise measurements. David worked through the design with me step by step, and after a few emails back and forth, we finalized all the details.

There was a minor issue with automated invoicing, but David promptly resolved it. The bed and console were initially ahead of schedule, but due to an unexpected workplace injury, the timeline was slightly delayed by a week. Given that these were bespoke items, this was completely understandable and not an issue.

Based on other reviews, I opted for double brackets (made of steel), double slats, and a center support bar for added durability. Honestly, this is the last bed you'll ever need to buy, so it's worth investing in the extra reinforcements for peace of mind even if it's not essential .

Assembly & Quality
- Communication was excellent throughout, with responses typically within the same day or within five working days at most.
- The bed arrived and is absolutely beautiful—solid, heavy, and built to last.
- Assembly was easier than expected, thanks to the guide blocks David provides to ensure the correct height.
- Pro tip: Create a wedge between the wall and the headboard to ensure it's perfectly square.
- The oak is extremely dense, so pre-drilled holes would have been helpful. You'll need a drill with a screwdriver attachment (not in hammer mode) because a regular screwdriver won’t cut it.
- I was missing a few screws for the slats, but they were standard B&Q screws, and I had extras in my toolbox—so I didn’t need to bother David. However, based on my previous interactions with him, I have no doubt he would have resolved it promptly.

Final Thoughts
The bed had some initial squeaks as it settled in, but they quickly disappeared. It’s rock solid, incredibly heavy (you may need two people to lift it), and truly built to last a lifetime. If you’re looking for a perfectly polished IKEA-style finish, this isn’t for you—these beds have character, with reclaimed wood that may feature industrial stamps, adding to their charm.

I’m beyond pleased with both the bed and console table—they are absolute perfection in terms of quality, craftsmanship, and durability. I wouldn’t hesitate to ask David for any future custom pieces, as I have full confidence in his excellent service, great value, and outstanding quality.

The three beds we ordered were as described and delivered as agreed by a really nice guy. The 5x5 posts on one of the king size beds are really chunky and fit our 1779 cottage perfectly. All the invoicing was correct and time scale of delivery as promised. Very good company. Rare on Facebook . Recommend highly.

5-7 weeks lead time; took nine weeks to arrive and i had to chase to find this out - no prior communication from the company. The side panels are fixed with small metal plates and wood screws that would be about £2.50 at B&Q! The bed creaks with any movement. One screw snapped as I put the bed together - the instructions are minimal and vague at best - and when i complained about the flimsiness of the construction and that i wanted to return the bed i was told that as I had damaged it, they would not except a return! When I questioned why they used such poor fixtures I was met with belligerence and insults as well as being told they didn't care about any review I might give or for my business; I had the audacity to point out that I paid them! The whole experience was extremely disappointing and I will have to find a way of retro fitting parts to make up for the cheap fittings. Such a shame as the bed does look amazing. Terrible, high-handed attitude from the company; avoid, avoid, avoid!

Update considering their response: Firstly, I do. have and used an electric screwdriver but I do not own a drill. I certainly don't expect the company to be supplying power-tools, that is a ridiculous assertion. The final paragraph about ego and a short temper is, ironically, exactly what I would say in reverse. I asked them, as the experts, for guidance but because I didn't like thier metal parts they got in a huff and just insulted my abilities, told me I lacked common sense and to hire someone to fix it for me as it was nothing to do with them. As can be seen, they continue to belittle me in their reply and, whilst they may consider that appropriate in private emails, doing so on a public forum like this is completely unprofessional. Their explanation for the use of the brackets is the first one I've seen - it would've been nice to have that at the beginning of the process and not when it's got to this petty level of finger pointing. This whole situation should've been handled so much better but their response to my obvious frustration was, to use their own words, 'that of a child throwing a tantrum.'

We bought a beautiful rustic bed and it's even better than expected. Great communication and service and really high quality. We love it, would highly recommend.

Order, two rustic dining chairs with requests. Wanted the chair backs a little higher and left untreated so I could stain/wax them myself to match others I have. My requests were met without hesitation at an extra cost, which was very reasonable. Communication was excellent and quick response time.
Chairs have now arrived and I am really happy with them. If you want rustic, then these fit the bill! Happily recommend.

I've been wanting a bed from these guys for a long time now and certainly wasn't disappointed when it arrived.
I managed to put it together myself but would have been easier with two. I also drilled small guide holes for the screws into the posts to help with the assembly. I'm not the best at assembling furniture but following the online guide made it easy.
I'm over the moon with my new bed, sturdy, chunky and rustic. Exactly what I was hoping for. 😊

The bed is great quality, was easy to put together and looks great in our bedroom. It matches the rustic chunky furniture we also have in the bedroom. We have had no problems in the months following delivery and it is still great. We have had a message from the seller to check everything is still ok. No problems with communication. We ordered a rustic pedestal dining table (6ft length) with a chunky rustic bench. The value for money is outstanding. To order a table and bench from a high-street retailer would have been 3/4x the price with a ‘plastic’ wood quality. The quality of these products is top notch and it really does provide what it says (rustic). Will not hesitate to purchase further products in the future.

I brought my bed roughly about a year ago now, and it is still my most favourite piece of furniture I own- I absolutely love it! The bed is solid, well made and beautiful. Delivery was simple although there was a hiccup (that was out of anyone's control) I was kept informed throughout. At every opportunity I tell others about my bed and love showing it off when visitors come... it certainly makes a statement! I wouldn't hesitate buying from them again.

I bought a bed, was so delighted with it bought the bedside tables and a storage chest.
The furniture is fantastic, looks great, love the rustic wood used, and is extremely solid (my 10 year old has been jumping up and down on the bed with no issues).
The delivery guy is great, my deliveries arrived late evening both cases which was perfect, had to get up some external stairs to my house no problems. It also arrived in the timescales given.
The thing I particularly like is this is not some MDF or wood you buy from a store it is natural old wood with all the random markings, which makes the furniture statement pieces at a reasonable price.
It is perfect 'rustic' furniture and has transformer my bedroom, had plenty of comments loving the furniture.
