SCAM Offer £250 for the vehicle only to call you 24 hours later to say payment can’t be made because there were issues with the vehicle i.e. engine and catalytic converter so we’re only able to pay you £50 they say. I was offered £250 for my car which I was assured would be paid the same day by 5pm. This is also clearly stated on their website. The driver collected the car at lunchtime but by 5pm no payment had been received. I phoned Scrap Today and their offices conveniently close at 5pm so I was unable to chase the payment. The following day I called to chase and was told the offer had been reduced to £80. I declined this offer and said I would collect the car. I was given an email address to contact the breakers yard directly and am still waiting for a reply. The address for the breakers I was given is false (unit 4, binley industrial estate, Coventry CV3 2 RQ). This property is currently on Rightmove for sale/rent and is a vacant office suite. Scrap Today is now called Scrap Compare, they changed their name in Dec 2024. RUN A MILE FROM THESE THIEVING LIARS

Do not use. Got quoted £350, recieved £150. Website says money payd same day. I had to wait 4 days. Scam.

Read the 1 star reviews and not the 5 star fake reviews. As others appear to have already said, they take your car and then claim that either the catalytic converter is aftermarket or something else is wrong, then claim you signed terms and conditions so there's nothing you can do.
Do not use these people and if you are stupid enough to, then DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING THE DRIVER GIVES YOU.

Top price received for my fiesta and great service from the driver Dave who collected my car this afternoon.

This is scam they offer me my cactus C4 which was a nice car it had issue in the engine and I told them they offer me 1,000 they take my car and told me put ur bank detail here and sing they never tell me to sing terms agreement and they said you will get your money in 5pm I called next day 3 times. They said your car same part missing they offer me 200 I told them bring me my car they said to me you have to pay the recovery and I live in London they take the car in Coventry it will cost 300 or 500 to bring and they hang up the phone. I want to complain about I check the company name there no name in the website and there no address in there only the phone number to call. I call them back since I don’t have same where to complain so I told them to send me the money they send me 200. All I wanted is to chase the name of the there bank account I get there name in the bank I google I get there company information and who run the company. I will go to the police to do samething about these scams I will advise be aware guys

I would not advise anyone to use this company as I believe they are scammers.
Offered £250 then told an aftermarket catalytic convertor was fitted so reduced to £150. This was catagorically not the case.
The car wasn't scrapped but somehow managed to get an MOT on it within days of collecting it. An engine overhaul was required to stop oil burning which was a large costly job and why it was scrapped. So someone will be buying the nightmare I had with the car now. While they may not be responsible for that they are enabling it.
They take no responsibility for anything as everything is then between you and the scrap yard (they claim they are just the middle man but will not give contact info of the scrap yards other than an email address that is not responded to). The address of the scrap yard (from the stamp applied to the logbook) is showing as a business unit available to rent on an industrial estate. And they haven't informed DVLA of taking the vehicle as scrap.
Avoid - would be my honest advise

Do not under any circumstances use this company, now read that again.
They will take your car away after giving you three pages of terms and conditions, and it's those very terms and conditions that are the scam.
As others have said, they don't pay you and when you call them back they say the usual stuff, "non compliant catalytic converter" and the cars value suddenly drops from £300 to £50.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. There are plenty of other genuine and trustworthy companies out there that will scrap your car.

SCAM - the Guaranteed price in not guaranteed - in fact I was told the same thing as the other reviewer that the car did not have the original catalic converter and price of £200 reduced to £50.

I sold my 2007 Mercedes B CLASS to Scrap Today,for £250, and that the money will be transferred the next working day. I called two days after and was told my car was now worth £100. I had the car for eight years and was told the catalyst converter was not an original one. This was the first I was hearing of this. They only pay in full for cars with original parts. This is for a seventeen year old car.
They ended up paying £120. I was referred to the terms and conditions I signed.
I believe this is not fair. Seller for a change beware. I will not recommend or use them ever again. This is not impressive and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
