My wife & I have been with 'Seasons Holidays' since 1996, and were interested to visit this new site at Slaley Hall. The lodge we used was a 'sleep 6' and was one of the best we have stayed in. The location was also excellent. So many places to visit in that area, including Beamish historic museum, and two Roman villages.
We had a wonderful stay and look forwards to returning.

Wanted to leave a review for Julia who gave me a massage and facial , absolutely THE BEST , I’ve had lots of massage , facials as love my spa days but this has to be the best one yet , she really knows her stuff , highly recommend , Thankyou Julia I will be back

Booked overnight package of Dinner, Bed & Breakfast for my wife's birthday and celebrate our honeymoon.
Rooms are now looking very grubby, we had room 304 and the air conditioning was very loud during the night even though we did not have this on!
Had lunch in the bar and went for a walk which was nice.
Checked in and booked the restaurant for the evening and was also asked to book a breakfast slot?
Arrived for our evening meal and I ordered :10OZ 50 DAY AGED BLACK ANGUS RIB EYE (GFA) £28.95 Fantastic marbling gives the rib eye great flavour and
a tender texture. Best-served medium rare or medium. and the wife the following: CHARGRILLED CHICKEN SUPREME (GFA) £17.50 Garlic, rosemary and olive oil glaze, baby gem, rocket and parmesan salad, French fries.
The steak was cold and was more rare than medium!
The wife's chicken was like a piece of rubber, she could not cut it at all.
eventually someone came over and then this was sent back and I just ate the outside and the rest looked like road kill on my plate!
She did not want to wait so we just ordered our deserts, Ordered Sticky toffee pudding and requested poring cream with this, and it came with custard! when mentioned that it was ordered with pouring cream the lad went away then came back and said they had no pouring cream???
this was not what we ordered so again this was returned and she did not have anything else.
10 mins later the waiter came back and said we had found some pouring cream... Really??
t this stage we had enough and just went to the bar.
came to check out and was being charged for the evening meal and extra's???
explained that we had the package deal and also that. my wife did not have anything to eat anyway!
this was then amended and I paid for the extra's which was the drinks from the bar.
At NO stage was we offered an alternative and NO ONE asked about have we enjoyed our meal or stay!!!
Totally disappointed when you even book direct with the website.

Visited Slaley Hall for afternoon tea on 15/10/2022 to celebrate two 60th birthdays. The staff (especially Christian) were great - nothing was too much trouble. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were amazing (especially the brownies and pecan pies). Great selection of teas. Lovely setting.Couldn’t fault it and a reasonable price in my experience.

We visited Slaley Hall to have afternoon tea. The food was nice but nothing special. We had to ask for plates and cups as they weren't on the table and had not arrived with the food or the tea. I was a little disappointed to be given a mug for my tea. I would have been nice as we were there for afternoon tea to have a cup and saucer. There was also a trolley of dirty plates left in the restaurant after being cleared from a table.

Past it’s best, supposedly offering spa facilities DONT BE FOOLED, pool freezing cold jacuzzi not working for weeks just after the steam room was out of action for weeks. The spa manager is SO unhelpful and can be rude at times plenty of other and better hotel spa’s in the area

Shocking no keys for room everytime you need to get in your room had to go too reception and ask to be let in, dated interior. Shower filled up with water took ages to drain. Room just average furniture all chipped and looking well past their sell by date. Absolutely stunk of paint outside our all along the corridor gave me a bad head. No discount offered for the inconvenience of having no key. Top notch prices not worth it Food was okish half the stuff was off the menu pizza burnt on the bottom gave us skin on fries instead of chunky chips they didn't think we'd notice. Although Kinga our waitress was lovely .

After a few attempts at getting information for a event from the conference team and even escalating my request to the manager I eventually gave up and decided that unlike the rest of the hospitality sector at the minute they don’t need anyones business.

If a company can’t be bothered to reply to emails and letters I’m not that sure we should be spending our money with them anyway

I’ve stayed with them many times under their previous ownership since the change of ownership they’ve obviously gone down the route of we can’t really be that bothered to get your business

Sorry Slaley Hall you fell at the first hurdle.
