Liam and Harriet were wonderful
Liam and Harriet were wonderful. They took our request to order and save a birthday cocktail for our friend and serve when we were ready with our other drinks. Overall a friendly atmosphere

We had bottomless brunch on 31st july 2026, as we sat down we were introduced to carole who was looking after us. She explained everything and brought us prosecco with sparklers ln ice bucket. Carole was lovely, very friendly, we had 2 hours of cocktails, and a lovely meal. The only negative was the cocktails were a bit weak, but still nice. Had a lovely time for our friends birthday. Thankyou Carole
1 Star
1 Star – Horrible food, atrocious service, and a manager who couldn't care less
If I could give zero stars, I would.
We used a voucher here yesterday and the experience was appalling from start to finish. The menu choices were extremely limited and basic. After waiting 45 minutes, our food finally arrived stone cold.
When we sent it back, they simply reheated the same plates, returning the food bone dry, overcooked, and completely ruined. I could only manage a couple of mouthfuls—it was so bad it left me feeling physically sick.
When we raised this, three separate members of staff completely ignored our concerns with pure apathy. Before leaving, we asked to speak to a manager. A young guy stepped forward claiming to be the manager, but his attitude was unbelievable. When asked directly if he actually cared about our experience, he literally just smiled at us.
This is a drinkers' pub, not a food venue, and they clearly have no standards for basic customer care. Completely ruined our day out. Avoid at all costs.
Although staff were polite on entry
Although staff were polite on entry, there was no urgency to getting the lift working. The lift did not work and I relied on it to enter so I did not even get an experience of the food or anything.
Very disappointed
Arrived at the time booked 13.00, for afternoon tea, this was pre booked .
Waited nearly half and hour to get served for drinks , waited for another 45 mins for the sandwiches and buns and cakes to arrive. We have to ask twice where the food was , the servers were good and tried their best. The food arrived we had booked for 10 people but there was a shortage of sandwiches, good job there was 9 eating .
Buns arrived and were burnt and sandwiches were lacking any filling. Scones were good ,brownies tasted weird very dry and not fresh at all.
To say we were disappointed is an understatement.
Concerdering this was pre booked , the wait was shocking.
to be given burnt food and non existent sandwiches was a smack in the face.
Would I recommend certainly not , it turned into an extremely stressful experience as my dad is a chef and was not happy.
What was ment to be a family get together turned into a very disappointing event.
Slug and lettuce need to do better with their kitchen staff and train them to actually cook to a decent standard .
Cocktails have no alcohol in them
Cocktails have no alcohol in them. Don't bother
Slug and lettuce Richmond- Never Again
We were disgusted at the service we received on 11 July time - 1916 by till receipt account 1634. She was rude and uninterested, made sloppy drinks that did not taste right, when we questioned it we got attitude and she even gave herself a tip somehow , don’t know how as we did not agree to one. The place was filthy dirty, empty glasses piled high, no one cleaning or even caring. Will not go to Richmond branch ever again. It’s fraud adding a tip for yourself.
Robbery without a gun
I entered absolutely excited after my cousins having been here and asking me to join them. The bartender was sweet and the atmosphere, I must say is quite welcoming and comfy.
HOWEVER, paying £13.95 for 2 cocktails and receiving 3/4 glass of crushed ice, the rest in orange juice, something red and I'm still waiting to taste or even feel a tingle of alcohol. I don't expect half bottle of rum for £13.95, but this is literally like being robbed.
This review is for the Wolverhampton branch.
Give Josh in Durham a RAISE!!!
My friend and I visited the Durham location for a little catch up over bottomless brunch. our server, Josh, could not have possibly done more for us! He very kindly let us sample a cocktail we had never tried before which is above and beyond any service ive EVER experienced before. I hope and pray he is recognised for his wonderful service and work he does for slug and lettuce!!!
thank you again josh!!!!
Visited the Gunwharf Quays pub
Visited the Gunwharf Quays pub. We had a platter for two and it was terrible. The ham was completely burnt. The staff were not bothered and no one asked if our meal was OK. It's a shame that I can't provide a photo to show how bad it was.

AGGRESSIVE AND RUDE DOOR MAN - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Booked in for a birthday meal and drinks yesterday at Deansgate, rude and aggressive doorman declined us entry as my partner was wearing Berghaus shorts, due to the 28 degree heat. Asked for the dress code policy to be clarified, as we could clearly see patrons inside wearing Stone Island shorts, and England football tops, clearly we were being discriminated against, as my partner is tall and of a bigger build. The doorman then lost his temper, and very unprofessionally threatened to 'beat up' my partner, disgusting and violent attitude!! The place was full of rowdy, half dressed groups of woman, yet we were refused entry for wearing shorts. Walked 2 mins round the corner to a far classier establishment called the Banyan, had a gorgeous meal and drinks there, and were treated with respect by the staff. AVOID AVOID AVOID the Slug and Lettuce, would never set foot in one ever again!!! The food would have been vile anyway, glad we had a lucky escape!! Would have given ZERO stars if able to!!!! Doorman needs retraining on the dress code, and also some anger management classes.
There’s no need for such loud music
Had a table booked for 5.30 on a Saturday afternoon at Slug and Lettuce, Albert Square, Manchester. We were shown to our table but the music was so loud we walked out. We couldn’t even hear the employee who showed us to our table, never mind talk to each other. Luckily a restaurant up the road fitted us in.
Unfit food provided
They offered me and my daughter immitation food on the day we booked. Tomato was very chewy and the chicken was made of plywood. The worst meal we have ever had. Totally disgusted. It was the branch near Aldgate Station (minories rd).
Customer Disservice
Probably the worst experience ever...in St. Mary Street. Cardiff. Went to get drinks ....eleven bar staff.....and after a 10 minute wait.... felt like HG Wells "Griffin" (Invisible Man) still totally, totally ignored. Served some dozen people who arrived after me. (No training whatsoever) and eventually a barman came over and said "If you stand a few steps over you might get served". He didn't bother serving me...just gave that advice!!!!!!!!!
Well, Slug &Lettuce, you continually moan, and groan about trading difficulty, but you employ people off the street with no training, who are not in the slightest interested, objectionable, rude, and discrimanatory. I'm older.. so you just weren't interested....and you made that obvious. Soft drinks were hugely unnecessarily pricey (what about designated drivers)and a drink on our table was (pump) undrinkable and had to be returned twice. An over zealous profoundly miserable member of staff was timing the table with a stop watch and close on manually ejected us "after our time was up"....mere minutes between one warning and the next.
Tip:- If you enjoy being treated like garbage and scammed, this is your place!
Hen Party
We went as a large group to the Slug & Lettuce in North John Street, Liverpool, for a hen party. We were served by Abby and she was so friendly and helpful, serving us our Bottomless Brunch. The prosecco kept flowing and she also served us other drinks from the bar and nothing seemed too much trouble :) I would probably give the food I had a 3 out of 5, not quite delicious, but adequate, but it was served professionally and in a friendly manner. The venue itself is lively and very busy and we all had a good couple of hours - I'd definitely go back :) Thanks Abby!
Amazing
Amazing, quick and friendly service . Our Services's Trinity and Daniel we so polite and helpful .
