Starz is not a company to trust

Apparently I've had 2 subscriptions with starz doing the same length of time...how ?
I could not find anything I like so I cancelled in-between Aug and Sept. 12/30/25 I started receiving emails informing me the transaction was declined for a $69.99 charge for their subscription to starz and requesting I update my account info for continued access to programing I have a prepaid card for my subscription. Did not add any money to the account because I no longer wanted starz and had cancelled already. What I had in the account covered expected charges for other bills.
STARZ went back into my account and took $39.00 without my permission. This is the 5th day of waiting on a call back, the 5th day of waiting on a response from the chat feature 5th day of pushing the #0 to speak to a csr only each and every time I choose to hold for a representative they just disconnect the call when I do not agree to a call back. I did not request a discount nor did I agree to a discount nor did they have permission to remove $39.99 of my money from my account. I consider that a fraudulent transaction. In other words STARZ stole my $39.99

I thought I canceled my subscription

I thought I canceled my subscription, was offered a deal, not to cancel, decline the deal; continue to cancel subscription. Lo and behold the next day I got billed for an additional year. When I went through the cancellation process again it was more careful and noted. It had to be canceled on four separate pages for separate times each of them more difficult to find them the previous. When I tried to contact stars to discuss this, I sent three emails that were never responded to, called their helpline and put in my phone number for a return call three times never to get a call. I called and waited on hold three times only to have the call disconnected after 30 minutes of being on hold. Went to their “live chat“ only to have no one ever pick up the chat! This company is absolutely predatory towards its customers and should be regulated better. It’s an absolute scam that will keep taking your money unless you figure out ways around their predatory practices. I have multiple streaming services. This is the only one that I’ve ever had issues with. Do yourself a favor and avoid it at all costs.

Horrible horrible customer service

Horrible horrible customer service! My annual subscription was automatically renewed at $75 for a streaming service I never watch with no reminder or advance notice! I’ve been trying to get in contact with someone via phone, emailing and chat for almost 24 hrs. now with no luck!

What a joke there isnt a human being who can help

i got charged for the full year so 80 something bucks, i hadn't used it once the previous year because its crap and i should have never allowed myself to be tricked by the cheap first year but contacting Starz for over a week now because i want my money back and there isn't a single soul of a human who has reached out or answered. I will be put on hold and 37 minutes later automated voice is saying i exceeded the wait time and a hang up lol what a joke of a company left my phone number multiple times and not a breath from anyone at Starz!

They make it difficult to unsubribe. When I thought I was unsubribed in September.
I found out today that I actually was not unsubribed snd billed for six months. I was billed today but they won't refund. Im unsubribed but I can continue to to watch until June 28, 2026.
There customer service number staff will only walk you through the step by step to unsubribe on line.

I signed up for the promotion Bait and Switch

My initial frustrawas this: I signed up for the promotion that was supposed to be $12 for the year when paid in advance. My credit card was just charged $74.36. Starz does not respond by phone or chat. Since then, Starz customer service has been responsive by email and is working to fix the issue. Changed this from 1 star to 4.

Service is terrible

Service is terrible. Can't log in on any device. Even though all devices say your logged in you still cant watch the programming. Total waste of money. No one responds to issues. E mails and complaints go unanswered.

If I could give them 0 stars I would!! Resubscribed to STARZ - not sure why- the same repeated- nothing good to watch. Plus -this time - when I cancelled my subscription- it cut off my account 2 weeks prematurely. Contact customer service- this woman is like- make sure you use the right email?? Problem never fixed. This is my sign to stop wasting my money

A rip-off and poor customer service

Paid for a year in advance and it only worked for 3 days before I got a message saying that I don't live in a supported territory. Customer service basically said "too bad" and they refuse to resolve the issue.

Signed up for their Black Friday deal… what a let down!

Signed up for their Black Friday deal after seeing ads all over... Started watching a show, and two days later I come back to continue and it's GONE. Like totally gone gone. Not even offered on their platform anymore. Not only can I not pick up where I left off, but I will have to rent off another streaming provider. What a rip off and complete let down.

Extremely LOW Qualilty!

I signed up for a YEAR of service (and I regret that and CANNOT get a refund and cancel)!

720p Movies/TV shows (or lower)! Who do they think they are competing against/with?

HBO has 4K content and nothing lower than 1080. Even FREE streaming services are superior to Starz!

This is actually worse than Apple TV and I would never have guessed anyone would be that low on my streaming service list.

Even Crackle is better for free, Slim content, old movies and shows that MIGHT be of interest if the quality was even close to DVD 480i... but it is not. Disgusting grab for money without any technical chops. Avoid this service like the plague! It is a pox on the streaming company society.

What a complete rip off company!! Nothing ever worked!! I called and chatted with them requesting a cancelation but they never did! They have been taking money out of my account since June!! They are thieves!!

Terrible customer service

I couldn't access my subscription because Starz registered me under the wrong email address. It took 10 days and about a dozen emails to reach an actual person who could resolve this. Now they won't credit me for this lost time.

I signed up for an annual discounted plan at $23.99 through Roku on 3/27/25.
On 8/8/25 Starz has cut my viewing off.
I have talked with Starz customer support, and chatted with them, but issue is not resolved.
Starz and Roku just point fingers at who must resolve the issue. Starz offered, I accepted, and Starz got paid. I want Starz to fulfill the contract,

STARZ Management is awful!!l

As far as the overall streaming no issues. My issues sits with whoever is making the decisions on what shows get cancelled vs what shows get carried for another season. After having several shows cancelled that I personally enjoyed was obviously heartbreaking, but the ultimate deal breaker for me was High Town. After taking their viewers through a 4 year 3 Season roller coaster from 2020-2024 and with excellent writing, acting and producing prior to cancellation, whatever individual or individuals that were the final say in this as with other shows should be demoted if not fired. How do you cancel shows, especially High Town leaving your viewers with so many open plot lines? In my opinion if they knew they could no longer carry a show for financial reasons, then go the writers/directors and have them wrap up season three. With the writers they had for this show and how amazing they were I’m confident they could have given the viewers a proper ending. This isn’t the only show they have done this with either. The ratings were high, the viewers were there and the writing and acting was, in my opinion AMAZING!! I have finally seen my last show/movie on the starz platform after this complete and utter disaster of a decision of High Town and the clear incompetence of those making the decisions for Starz. I have decided that Starz is the one CANCELLED NOW!! Subscription is no longer active on my end!!
