Starz is a scam

Starz is a scam. Had a 4.99 membership until 7/12. On 7/1 tried to cancel because they didn't offer much. Said they had new shows coming would I like to continue for 9.99 for 3mths. I agreed.
Immediately charged account and said that's what they do. What happened to the rest of the month I paid for. EVERY OTHER SERVICE GOES FROM END DATE. Reporting to Google and attorney general. This is bait and switch. THEY AGREED TO TERMs.
I wish I could give 0 stars. Don't have much I can't get elsewhere
Give this service a hard pass or you'll get scammed.

STARZ SUX

I have had the Starz streaming app on roku through my Spectrum subscription for over 3 years. On 07/01/21 the app was no longer working and required that I log in. The thing is it won't let me log back in and keeps telling me my email and password are incorrect. They are not. Spent over 10 hours trying to no avail. They finally had something I wanted to watch after 3 years and now I can't.
Should mention that when it worked;
Movies are not in correct screen format.
No surround sound available
Not in 1080 hi-definition
( there are a couple of exceptions)
I can't rate customer support because it doesn't exist.
I'd give ZERO STARS TO STARZ IF I COULD.
OF ALL THE STREAMING CHANNELS AVAILABLE, THEY ARE THE WORST!
FULL DISCLOSURE: I basically get starz for free when I added HBO and Showtime to my Spectrum package and it is still not worth it.

Starz encore and epix show adds for…

Starz encore and epix show adds for their original shows During the movie and i believe that cuting off the credits to show more adds is illegal or it shpuld be because we are paying for uncut movies tillthe very end some of the best parts and music is at the end of movies besides All those people worked hard and should not be cut off for adds Since hbo showtime max ALL are actually pay channel we are being ripped off the last 5 mins of every moive.. Theft thru deception its called some one should make them pay for being so petty i would like to file for 5 percent Back on every movie!!!!

Unable to cancel Starzplay subscription

I added Starzplay to my Amazon Prime video subscription on amazon.co.uk

I cancelled the Starzplay add on which Amazon confirmed on 26 March 2021 but am still being charged the Starzplay subscription.

Amazon say they cannot see the transactions from their side so they cannot help

I didn't signup with Starzplay directly so not sure how I could contact them

It seems like a scam

Eventually I had to go to my bank and they are now going to block all future transactions with Starz from their side

Not Even a Single Star for Starz

It has been double charging for months. Their Bot-based email 'customer service' is a lie. The bots are programmed not to understand, but for us to waste time and energy while their deceptive practices continue. The idea is to force us to start all over each time by calling a phone line which is hard to get through on. In other words, it makes more money by providing us fake service that by keeping us as satisfied subscribers... PS: I have zero trust for the cookie maker, Trustpilot. I don't think any of you should either.

I took out a subscription as I wanted to watch Ghost. There was nothing else worth watching so I cancelled. This company is continuing to attempt to take money from my account despite the fact I have had confirmation of cancellation and have cancelled the direct debit. Avoid !!

Beware: owner cancelled my booking 1 day before my booking

Beware: owner cancelled my booking 1 day before my booking without given any reason. No penalty for the owner whatsoever. Forced me to accept their offer to another house which is much older and noisier. The owner even issued a $500 penalty suddenly, which later found out she made a mistake. Stayz has a policy which allows owner to to charge the occupant which occupant cannot dispute. Book at your own risk. The house i booked is called “Hobart Luxury Holiday House”.

Free trial is a load of bs

Signed up for 7 day FREE trial it stated I had insufficient funds when it clearly says total due today £0.00
Luckily I'd removed my funds to a different savings account as I know what some of these sites are like and clearly they are dodgy.

I will never try to get Starz again they customer service SUCKS big time. March 21st I was trying to purchase Starz they had a promotion $5 a month for 6 month. After running my credit card several times and Starz charging me $1 each time they ran my card I still wasn't able to get it. At that time I called customer service and let me tell you they have real unprofessional crew working for Starz. I called several times thinking maybe the next representative will be a little more professional that actually can help me and hopfully I can solve my problem, No Way not with Starz customer support. After speaking to the last representative I was told a manager will call me back in a day or two, one week letter no manage. Today April 06th I finally call Starz my self and spoke to Alexie i told her what happened and this is what she told me. She tells me Starz managers don't ever call customers back they only email. At that time I said please take my email address and open my account after I gave her my email she put me on hold for about 10 minutes and when she got back she said manager did call back that's what the notes saying under my account but no one ever left a message and to my knowledge I don't even thing they even called me back. First I get several unprofessional guys that couldn't tell me why my card was charged a $1 each time I try to open the account with Starz and than I get Alexie not knowing how to do her job saying managers don't call back when they do but no one ever left me any messages. Make the long story short I ask Alexie to give me Starz for $5 due to me missing the promotion because I had to wait on managers call and deal with all this nonsense and she told me No she can't do that. Any other business would rather take $5 than not having anything at all... That's why I love Netflix and Hulu they stand by they customers 100% Starz could've have one more customer but due to very unprofessional customer service I would never sigh up with Starz i try giving them a chance but they blow it.. I'm very happy with Netflix and Hulu that I had for many year and many more to come. Bye Bye Starz you lost a good customer for your mistake.

Moronic starz logo in the bottom right

I get your a platform but when you have starz show in the bottom right corner it ruins immersion, your supposed to be about the "best show and entertainment" but I cant be entertained if you constantly remind me thats what is happening.

You had the best story

You had the best story, and the best casting, and still managed to fubar up the American Gods story, production should have gotten done to the end, and then if you wanted to break it up into seasons, you could have done it post production, now you have different actors taking over for the ones we are expecting to see, dragging ass into a fourth year. Thank for screwing it up.

Honestly I am so frustrated with this service, there probably isn’t anything they can do to keep me as a subscriber. When I went on to cancel a few months back, they offered 3 months for 99cents so I decided to stay. Then, I’ll admit I forgot to cancel so I paid the 9.99 for the next month. This last month, however, I remembered I had to cancel in time, I just can’t remember exactly which method I used to do so. I want to say when I tried to log on I couldn’t remember my password. I just looked back at my emails. I reset my password and it said account inactive. I wrote a message (it must have been through the app and I wish I would have taken a screenshot) trying to get confirmation that the account was cancelled. I just spoke to a representative and basically got into a heated discussion where she said I should admit when I’m wrong and I do, when I am. However, I know I tried to cancel this account. There must have been some gliche. The month before was my fault, but not this last month. I told her, you can see we haven’t watched anything can’t you? Because, we believed the account had been cancelled until I saw we were billed again at the end of December. We are prime, Hulu, and Netflix members and honestly after what just happened with that phone call I would choose them any day over STARZ. Then, the agent told me they would delete the review if I post in a public forum. I was really hoping we could work out this misunderstanding because I don’t like to post anything but positive reviews on public forums. I emailed STARZ about my experience and never heard back. Very disappointing. This was kind of a rambling rant. But, in a nutshell, subscriber beware!

Worst App. No digital functionality.

Signed up for their promotional $4.99 for 6 months service to watch American Gods. Got to the website and couldn't play the series. I thought it may have just been a problem with that particular show, so I tested my theory and tried to play Jumanji. Same issue. The preview worked but the actual show and movie kept giving me an error message.

This was my second attempt with Starz. Had the same problem the last time with movies and tv shows not loading. Also, the actual dashboard doesn't load either, meaning you actually have to search for a particular title rather than a variety of shows and movies centered to your liking being recommended to you... like Netflix does.

Their website is very dysfunctional. If they aren't going to spend the money to make it better, then they need to just cancel their streaming service all together and stick with being a cable tv service.

STARZ straight out stole my money

STARZ straight out stole my money. It came with my Amazon Prime membership. I cancelled the free trial very quickly and received emails from amazon about my cancellation the same day, but only received my STARZ cancellation confirmation email a WEEK AND A HALF LATER on the day my trial ended so they could charged me. I talked to 2 people from Amazon who said they couldn't retrieve my refund from them, but that they Shouldn't have charged me and they don't know how it happen. They told me I should go to my bank and dispute it.

Absolute con they make it impossible for you to cancel and the whole service is rubbish no customer help line or online chat to help you out. Avoid this service at all costs I had to cancel my bank card for them not to take any more money.

Why does STARZ make life so very…

Why does STARZ make life so very difficult for their customers. I have had to send several emails asking for a code since their link does not work to get a subscription renewal. Calling them doesn't work either as you are left on hold forever or they hang up. I guess their intention is to lose customers not get any. This is insane. Customer service is just terrible.
