To give a Tl;dr straight away: Suruga-ya was amazing. My order was recieved by them, shipped, and arrived to my home all within the timespan of one week (Order recieved on 5th May, arrived on the 12th May). I cannot talk on their shipping prices for reasons said in the review, however I would highly recommend the store as of this first order.
Now for the actual review
At first I was a little bit skeptical, seeing an item I had been looking for at an exceedingly cheap price compared to what I was expecting to see it for. So with a little hesitation, and some research on the store, I had bought a small collectible figurine of Murrue from Gundam Seed Destiny for little over £13 in total. Due to me also ordering during a free shipping event, I cannot comment on what paid shipping services they offer but I can comment on everything else.
The timeframe from order placement to delivery is some of the fastest I've had, even some orders from within the UK took longer than this item coming all the way from Japan. In a one week span of me placing the order, the figurine showed up. The outer box was a bit damaged but it was so comically large compared to the contents that I really wasn't concerned, it gave me a bit of a laugh. The figurine itself was untouched in its original gacha-esque packaging and even further secured to the box by being plastic wrapped to a cardboard slab that was then glued to the bottom of the box, which I assume was to make sure that nothing got bent or damaged by shuffling around during shipment. The figurine arrived in perfect condition and as I am writing this I have it on my desk next to me.
Communication was done about as I expected. the standard recieve, confirm, shipped e-mail string you'll be used to if you order from any other online stores based in Japan. They also provided a Tracking number, which I'll be honest I wasn't expecting but it was very appreciated regardless.

Overall, I would rate this a 10/10 in all honesty. No complaints from me. I am very likely to buy from them again should something else pique my interest. The only thing I can suggest is bubble wrap to further cushion the item, but that's likely only used for larger or more fragile items.

I ordered a pretty rare keychain from them at a lower price than what you'd usually find on the market, and it even came with free shipping! I'm based in Europe, and I received the package within a week or two, which was impressive.

Although the package was about ten times bigger than the actual product and I had to pay import fees, the overall service was excellent. Everything was well-organized, the product is original and high-quality, so I can confidently say I 100% recommend them!

DO NOT buy from Surugaya. Lack credibility and reliability, poor customer service, boderline fraudulant business practices.
1. I had bought a dvd that was supposed to have come with a photocard, but it arrived with it missing. Instead of sending the missing pc which they have in stock as I requested, they offered to do a partial refund which was not satisfactory due to the fact the missing pc is exclusive to the product. After much back and forth communications stating I just wanted the complete product as posted and that I paid a higher price paid for because of the inclusion of the pc, the store did not agree to my request even though the error was on their end. Instead they offered the option for a full refund which required for me to drive far from where I live o some no-name parcel service and incur beforehand all shipping and handling costs which would then only be compensated in the form of a store credit.
2. Free Shipping is a facade. Multiple items I also had purchased came with the store price tags still on them. Come to realize they had significantly up the price for the items on their site compared to the tags. And one of the higher priced item was charged double! After conversion and comparison, the difference in the prices is more than what the actual shipping cost would have been. The Free Shipping offer is trickery making one think you're getting a cost break, but you'll end up paying for it in the end, and then some.
Surugaya regretably failed in resolving a simple issue and unnecessarily wasted my valuable time. What a deeply terrible and exhausting buying and customer service experience. Do yourself a favor and Stay Away.

Ordered figures twice now since the start of the year (written 20th Jan) all arrived fine, good products, shipped fast and in good condition.

J'ai commandé un livre et une figurine pour 76 euros sur ce site, j'ai reçu 2 colis énorme et le livreur m'a réclamé 60 euros de frais de douane, frais qu'on ne m'a absolument pas prévenu !! Ayant très peu de moyen j'ai refusé les colis et le livreur est reparti avec ! J'ai prévenu le site que je souhaitais qu'ils me remboursent les commandes mais non seulement ils refusent de me rembourser mais ils m'ont bannis de leur site !! J'ai donc payé 76 euros pour quelque chose qu'ils vont finalement garder, c'est du vol ! De l'arnaque ! Nous allons de ce pas faire une belle contre pub à ce site !

I came across this website because I was looking for a specific Japanese only cd with japan only bonus tracks and I was able to find the cd that I was looking for for a great price plus free shipping to the USA. It came very very quickly like 3 days and the cd’s were wrapped very nicely to prevent from being damaged. Amazon should learn how they pack stuff. Just amazing! Customer service excellent! Just check their website you may find something you like. By the way they offer free shipping sometimes so that is the time I purchase a lot. Arigato gozaimasi!

Used them in past. Aside of paying for customs (sad reality for any foreign goods) there were no surprises... Except for the fact that all 3 "used" items arrived new in sealed boxes instead.

But now, I just got info that they have expedited the shipping (despite it being free shipping promo rn) so that it arrives in time for Christmas! The estimate went from 20-26, to 18-21, to now 17.12!

All together that's 3/3 for positive experiences with Suruga-ya. As long as you remember that there will be customs fee, it's likely best pick for ordering goods from Japan - you'd likely pay more for shipping than for the customs anyway.

Bought something I had been searching for for quite a while (only other place I could find it was from re-sellers for double the price). It came way quicker than expected and was packaged really well. Definitely would recommend.

i’ve ordered from this site 6 times over the past year and could not recommend it more!!! the free shipping promos are ridiculously helpful considering they ship through dhl, which can be crazy expensive. shipping is always fast! i’ve never had any order issues so i can’t speak on their customer service, but everything else has been spectacular. they package things very well (usually in a heavy-duty box much larger than the item with the item shrink-wrapped to another piece of heavy-duty cardboard that is securely glued to the inside of the box) and their prices are very reasonable. my most recent purchase was for an item that cost $50-$100 to order off ebay (not including shipping costs), but only around $25 off suruga-ya. as a testament to how fast they are with packaging and shipping, i ordered the aforementioned item on 12/9 and have received it today (12/12) in amazing condition. i literally have this site as an app on my home screen because i love using it so much! my only issue with it is that sometimes the descriptions are very minimal, so you kinda have to take a risk when ordering if you’re not sure what the item will contain.

Mon expérience a été décevante sur la réception. La commande en elle-même s'est bien déroulée : j'ai acheté sur le site sans problème et les informations concernant les frais de douane séparé à l'achat étaient clairement indiquées dès le début, ce qui a bien été respecté. Le colis est arrivé dans les délais annoncés, donc jusque-là, tout allait bien.

Cependant, c'est là que les choses deviennent vraiment déroutantes… J'ai commandé une petite figurine de 4,5 cm et, à ma grande surprise, j'ai reçu une boîte énorme ! On pourrait y mettre au moins 150 figurines de la même taille ! Pire encore, il n'y avait quasiment aucune protection autour de l'objet, à part une simple planche de carton (qui était aussi grande que la boîte elle-même) sur laquelle la figurine était collée avec un peu de papier DHL et un emballage plastique . C’est vraiment un manque de soin. Je viens de me rendre compte pendant que j'écris ça que de la colle chaude se trouve au fond de la boîte surement pour "fixer" le tout à la boite. Petite info ? ça n'a pas maintenu, ça se balladait dans le colis.

Franchement, en termes de service, j’ai déjà eu bien mieux en provenance du Japon. Ça laisse une impression d’amateurisme, et je m'attendais à quelque chose de plus soigné pour un produit venant du japon, surtout dans ce contexte international.

I ordered my package on Wednesday and it arrived on Monday, all the way from Japan and a whole day earlier than the expected date! I am happy with the condition of the items and the cheap price I paid for them, and especially with how fast the delivery was. I can’t recommend Suruga-ya enough for international customers!

Great service, timely communication and product was as described. I got a second hand item but it was securely packaged 📦 and arrived very quickly. I would say DHL tacked on an import fee but I don't know how much of that is under their control

La web está super bien, figuras, libros y peluches super baratos, campañas de envío gratis, todo en excelentes condiciones aunque sean de segunda mano y envío muy rápido para venir desde Japón, el único problema son las aduanas que te meten por la importación, tienes que tenerlo en cuenta cuando vayas a comprar si eres de Europa.

Prix très interessants et livraison rapide. Mais livraison gratuite qui au final se solde par 33€ de taxe en plus sans être prévenu. Si je ne payais pas, mon colis repart. Donc déception pour ma fille avec qui j'ai choisis et promis les figurines. Je trouve cela dommage et exagéré, alors que le contenu fait à peine le prix des frais de douanes que normalement tout le monde dit ne pas avoir eu à payer sur youtube pour venter ce site.

Use another service

I wanted to try out the service and saw they had a free shipping promo so I got something small (around 6€). It arrived very fast, I was not given a choice on the shipping option, pretty sure it was express shipping with that speed. This is where the positives end, I was well aware I had to pay duty and tax but it turned out to be 10x the price of the item alone (around 55€). My item is quite small and light as well (10 gramm) and could've easily fit into an evelope with bubble warp but they taped it on a bigger board and put that inside of a giant box. Yes the item arrived in good shape but it was not worth the price.

I prezzi dell'usato, forse sono un po' più alti rispetto a quelli che puoi trovare su Rakuten o Mercari però si paga sia per la qualità che per l'originalità dell'articolo; inoltre c'è da pagare solo una singola commissione di 500 yen, per tutto l'ordine, a differenza dei siti di acquisto intermediario.
Farò sicuramente un'altro ordine.
