I’ve been buying Swedish Hasbeens for years but recently got stung by a £50 import tax on top of the shipping fee to the UK and the cost of the shoes. As many other people are saying Swedish Hasbeens should be clearly messaging on their website that UK purchasers will encounter significant additional fees. The information is currently buried. Very disappointed.

Great boots, but hidden delivery charges - beware if you’re ordering from the UK. My boots arrived, along with a £40+ import tax that wasn’t mentioned when I ordered them. The choice was to pay the fee to UPS or refuse the delivery and be charged £30+ by the retailer. This should be highlighted by Swedish Hasbeens when you order.

Wish I was aware. Spent over $30 on shipping and returning. Booties are so tight I couldn’t even get my foot in.
To pay for such a ridiculous shipping amount to revive and return is outrageous. Will never buy again!

Unexpected extra shipping cost to pay from UPS although it was not made clear upon purchase. £46.00. If not paid, I would be charged £35 handling fee for the return, if you add the £17 shipping fee originally charged, pretty expensive and I’ve experienced terrible customer service. Basically bad luck!
Would not recommend and I don’t even have the shoes yet!

Had to return a pair of shoes as they were so narrow. They cost over £70 and my refund was £16 because of being charged all the shipping costs. Yes that’s on their return policy but it’s really not made clear and I had contacted customer services as needed a returns label and not once did they mention their policy and flag the costs. If I’d know I would have kept and sold them. Will not be making another purchase.

I ordered some shoes from Swedish has-beens, I was stupidly unaware that they are based abroad (my own fault) however they do not make it clear that you will be forced to pay expensive customs charges when the shoes are shipped to the UK (£42!). They mentioned nothing of this when I paid, which I felt was unfair as they also charged me £14 shipping. They then sent the parcel via UPS to a UPS collection point, rather than to my home address - even though the original email states they would be shipped to my home address. This led to weeks of waiting when there were issues in accessing the collection point. When I got the shoes they were fine, nice looking although extraordinarily uncomfortable with no padding. I would definitely not recommend using this website

Lamentable !! Les informations taille sur le site ne sont pas conformes à la réalité. J'ai donc décidé de les retourner et ils m'ont déduit 25 euros de frais de port retour en me remboursant !! Je n'ai jamais vu ça, je suis écœurée

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced!
I have ordered 2 pairs of clogs online and to my surprise had to pay UPS a £45 customs fee to be able to collect my parcel which wasn’t mentioned anywhere when I made my purchase.
This should have been clearly stated on their website, I was totally blindsided.
I contacted their customer service who emailed me back a very dry and rude email stating that this is because of Brexit and that basically “it is what it is” and that if I can’t collect my parcel by paying the fees I will be charged £34 and won’t be getting a refund.

This is absolutely disgusting and a complete rip off!
I can’t afford to pay these fees and now will have to put myself in a tricky position financially just to be able to collect the parcel.

So this is a warning for anyone purchasing from the UK.
Please think twice before purchasing from them! AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

The most appalling customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered three pairs of shoes in mid-June. Order 504090 if Swedish Hasbeens want to check the huge amount of increasingly desperate correspondence.

Firstly, a tax was added onto them which meant I couldn't even afford to pick them up (and this was NOT clearly explained). I was shocked by the added charge and decided I no longer wanted the shoes, as they weren't worth the price I was expected to pay.

Swedish Hasbeens did agree to a refund as result of this, and five weeks later I am still waiting. I have been in desperate and continued contact with the customer service team, who just blandly inform me that the 'refund is coming'. There have been vague comments like 'no a refund shouldn't take over a month', but no offers to actually do anything about it, refund me early (they know the parcel is coming), or help me in any way. They are useless and unfriendly.

I am down nearly £200 (not that I am giving up), and I will never be purchasing from this company again. I would give 1 star but in fairness I don't know how the shoes are.

I just purchased my first pair of hasbeens online. I was charged twice for the same pair of shoes. When I realized I had to email instead of calling I got worried. I emailed the company and the very next day I got an email letting me know they got mine. The day after I got another email letting me know the problem is getting fixed. The problem was immediately fixed and my shoes arrived on time and in perfect condition! I'm absolutely in love with these shoes and cannot wait to order more!

I ordered a pair of shoes off the sale. Paid €14 for postage. Shoes were nice, unfortunately despite what the website says, they don't seem to run large, I'm between sizes, but the smaller size I ordered was not a good fit. Returned them and was charged €24 for posting them back. So, paid €77 and only got back €39. Never again.

The shoes came in and they’re perfect as ever! You can really see that the wood is as good as it gets compared to other companies, and the quality is immaculate. I’ve been wearing hasbeens for YEARS during summers, special events (even hikes) and love how natural it feels, they’re very durable but takes some time to walk in when they’re new (wear patches in beginning)... What they say is true, better shoes for a better world... this should be bought more than the cheap plastic shoes poorly made by people not getting paid enough. Hope more people discover this!!! :)

Beställde ett par skor på rea till ett mycket bra pris. Tre dagar får jag ett totalt sönderslaget paket av DHL, lyckligtvis är inte innehållet skadat utan bara förpackningen. Innehållet däremot levererades i en helt annan storlek än vad jag beställt.

Anmäler reklamationen till kundtjänst och påtalar att produkten kommer skickas tillbaka i en skadad förpackning. När jag väl ska lägga en ny beställning upptäcker jag att reapriset nästan har fördubblats sedan jag lade min beställning, trots att skorna fortfarande säljs i kategorin "outlet". Nej tack, här handlar man nog inte igen.

I am sure the product is good, but customer service is non existing. We are looking to exchange a product (wrong size) - we know the product has been received at Swedish Hasbeens, but we have received no confirmation or information on next steps.

And no response to emails or a phone number you can call.

Shoes might be nice but very expensive. Customer service is impossible. No email I have sent have been answered bar one and they didn’t answer my questions. Hope if you buy their shoes you don’t have to return them for whatever reason as they rip you off with shipping and do not answer you questions.

I've been wearing Swedish Hasbeens for years now. Their shoes are always, without exception, super comfortable, stylish and durable. I still have a pair that is 7 years old I wear regularly! I always get compliments on them and I love wearing them. Ordering from their website is easy and she shoes are always delivered quickly. I hope to keep wearing them for many years to come!

I got some 'Anette High' neon yellow clogs in the sale. They're a way more palatable price when that's the case (not sure I'd spend the usual £200 on them). They arrived reasonably quickly to the UK, no issues with delivery and communication etc.
I selected a size 39 (UK6), which is always what I wear, and they fit absolutely perfectly (I've normal width feet). I hear the US sizes are half size equivalent for these shoes, so best to double check if you're buying in the US.
They're really well made, and the wood is comfortable on the sole of the foot.
A WORD OF WARNING, these shoes take some serious breaking in. I've gone through a few different phases of the breaking in sitch, moving to different parts of my foot, using plasters and socks to protect my feet. Alas, I now have blood on the underside of the leather where a previously comfortable area caught me unawares when out (the tops of my feet have scabs on - nice). I'd spent days walking round the house in socks on them previously too. Not really sure what you could do about this, I reckon clogs would always be the same. But they're not shoes you can wear immediately.
Otherwise, I can tell they're the sort of shoe I'll have hanging around for a few years, to potter about in.

I have had nothing but great service purchasing from the Official Swedish Hasbeens website. Three different purchases of multiple shoes. Arrived in great condition, speedy processing of order, great communications. Only had to return one pair of shoes, I forgot to put the returns form in and received and email promptly asking to confirm what I wanted, and the return was actioned immediately. Not a single complaint. Would like to have free returns since shipping isn't free but that's my only con due to not many stores having the shoes to try on before buying. Other than that, a very happy customer, and amazing shoes, I now own six. Not excessive at all :)

I bought for my girlfriend "ULLA" shoe model and she was very happy with quality and look. Thanks Swedish hasbeens for it :)

Ordered three pairs of shoes on June 20th. Waited days before receiving a message to say they had been shipped. However when you input the tracking number to the UPS site it says a label has been printed in Sweden - but nothing has shipped. And that's the last I've heard about my order.

I've emailed - waited several days, no reply. I've tried social media - no reply. I've tried the phone number listed in the dm on their Facebook page - that number is out of order. I found via Google - you're only offered a contact form if you go via their homepage - two numbers. The one I'd already tried several times that says it can't connect at the moment - and a UK number that also doesn't connect.

I've tried calling the London store - no reply.

I'm £300 out of pocket - with no shoes and no explanation, and no means of contacting anyone. This is either the worst customer service I've ever dealt with or the company is in trouble. Which would make the continued flow of marketing emails into my inbox problematic from their point of view.

I would be very grateful if someone - anyone - would get in touch and let me know what's going on, and if I need to escalate this further to recover my money.
