Yet another satisfying visit to Sytner Select Cardiff for a MOT.Dealt with promptly on arrival I was informed that the wait would not be too long.I resisted the temptation to look at the vehicles in the showroom as I am still enjoying my car i bought there a few years ago.i would recommend anyone looking to change their current vehicle to have a look at the excellent stock available at Sytner Select.

I have brought a used car from them and travel a long way to get it. Upon collecting the car it had not been prep well and upon getting home found out it required a service within 3 months. I made a complaint and there was no reply from them. Would stay away. Basically sell a car and dont want to know.

Today we picked up our Chery Tiggo 7 Hybrid. We went into Sytner Penarth Road. We were professionally greeted by Mohamed Qasim who looked after us from beginning to end. We received 100 percent of his attention throughout our journey. Mohamed was very knowledgeable and answered everything we asked. We would recommend to anyone who is looking to purchase a Chery vehicle to approach Mohamed .

Be Careful - Sytner Select Cardiff
I’m going to give this review based on my experience only, I’ll start it by the positives as I am now very happy with my purchase BMW G23 Convertible.

However the entire process was not an enjoyable one, some of which is my own fault not understanding purchased cars previously from other BMW Sytner dealers, this is not and I shouldn’t have sent £500 without seeing the car or doing my checks. It’s owned by Sytner but is a Car Supermarket. I was only attracted to my vehicle due to the price point, then finding out later the reason why it wasn’t sold at the Main Dealer which is only a few doors down the road !

I live over 100 miles away so the car was suppose to be ready for collection the following Saturday and looking prepared ready for inspection, time arranged 10am. I was early 9.30 everybody was in a meeting and was left wondering around the showroom, no car, so went into the yard, eventually found it filthy and certainly not prepared. Great start but probably glad in the end as this prompted me to go to my Car Vertical report, which showed everything two lots of previous damage and the last one was 10k worth and only just gone back on the road looking at the mileage as it also failed its MOT (5 years old) on damage track rod & tyre.

Obviously I’m now getting very disappointed, they quickly cleaned the car up for inspection with apologies and thought well it doesn’t look bad no signs of anything, drove ok also. So expecting paperwork from Sytner as to the repairs and some service history book being as I’m still thinking they are connected to BMW Sytner. NOTHING ! not one piece of paper not even a receipt for the MOT work which I found out later they had done.

At this point your probably thinking why didn’t I just walk away, it wasn’t even the finance as I was putting 40% cash deposit down, again car looked really nice and right price. The fact I knew there was a 3 month 3,000 mile warranty I thought well let’s agree the sale.

At this point the paperwork took over an hour, they spent more time trying to sell me Extended warranties and paint protection, they had plenty of paperwork for that. Then keys were given to me, it’s out the front you can use the side door. No let me take you round and make sure you know where the car is and how everything works etc, I spent the next 20 minutes trying to connect my phone and set sat nav for home, thanks guys great customer service.

On the motorway I noticed the steering was very stiff and I pulled into the services and turned off all the lane assist and crash protection and it did make a difference although still thinking it was different to all the other 4 series models I had, parked it on my drive and went away for the night with family in another car.

The next day Sunday, I literally went less than 1 mile around to the post office lights came on the dash and in 200yrs the steering collapsed completely, I had to abandon the car on the side of the road as Sytner hadn’t registered the warranty or recover service, I then had to deal with that Monday morning, thank goodness I wasn’t on the motorway it could have been a completely different story.

The car was taken as I requested to Sytner BMW Worcester, where all my cars are served, I requested a full report whilst I tried to get Sytner Select Cardiff to do something, which they did nothing for 3 days, not even a call back.

There was a major issue the track rod had bent completely and wasn’t an OEM part, bent that much it damaged the inside of the wheel and other items. Also on the report was the tyre not being a run flat & non branded, when the standard tyres are specific run flats to the m sport performance plus. Remember the MOT failure earlier in the review, both items were listed as MOT failure earlier.

Eventually after 4 days Worcester BMW got approval from BMW Assist Warranty, to be honest Worcester were brilliant.

The car was off the road for an entire week, not one phone from Sytner Select Sales or after Sales ! No courtesy car offered or anything else either.

Since then I have made two full complaints to Carl Harris - Sytner Group with no reply.

1 STAR - Be Careful and do your checks

I brought my car for service and valets at8:30 am in the morning and I was told that it would take 2 hours to complete the job. The work was not completed even by 12:00 noon. When you handed over the car after 12, you didn't valet my car. When I compainted about it, it took another half an hour to do the valet. I now doubt that whether you serviced my car or just took my money as I noticed the oil level in the car is as same level as before I handed over my car for service.

Mohammed was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Would definitely deal with him again

Josh made me feel very relaxed, especially as I am a nervous driver. I thought he had been working for the company for years, although it was his first week!
Mohammed also made me feel very relaxed and nothing was too big or too small for either of them with regards to my questions.
I am over the moon with my car and the customer care that I received.
The care they had for their clients is second to none!
I would recommend using this company to all my friends and family.

I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience buying my car from Sytner Select Cardiff, and that was all thanks to Shinay.

From start to finish, she was absolutely amazing. Her customer service was exceptional professional, friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely interested in making sure I was completely happy with my decision.

Once I’d found the car I liked, Shinay took the time to go through everything with me properly and made the whole process feel easy and stress-free. There was absolutely no pressure whatsoever. She was cool, calm and collected throughout, and it genuinely felt like she cared more about me making the right choice and being happy with my new car than simply making a quick sale.

That level of customer service is rare, and it made such a difference.

Overall, this has been the best experience I’ve ever had buying a car, and that is completely down to Shinay.

If you’re looking to buy a car from Sytner Select Cardiff, make sure you ask for Shinay I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.

Went and had a look at a car which fitted the bill for something I was looking for. Needed to acquire the car on a two week delivery time which seemed reasonable, the car had a service and MOT ~1 month prior to my visit and passed without any real issues. Unfortunately after paying the £99 reservation fee, 7 working days later there was still no real update on the car in question, and whether it had even been into the garage to have a look over. The communication was poor, the staff were friendly but there seemed to be a disconnect between the garage and the sales staff.

Unfortunately I now find myself in a position where the company has my £99 refundable deposit and they don't seem particularly motivated to give it back to me. I assumed when the purchase fell through I would just get this back automatically rather than have to chase for my own money?

Everything was done really quickly and nothing was too much to ask, we are over the moon with the car and the experience overall 😊

Terrible communication, impossible to get anyone to answer the phone, took about 4 attempts to actually make a booking and even then it was done wrong and had to add on the service on the day of the appointment, only by luck that they were able to fit in the service as well as the MOT. Tried the whatsapp option of communication but no reply on that either. No free wash or vacuum either.
Please please make it easier to speak to an actual human being.
