Taray were unprofessional & lacked attention to detail

Taray were appointed to administer the apartments where I live just before the freeholder was liquidated for unpaid water bills. Dealing with Taray was a nightmare and debilitating for an 82 year old. Taray submitted invoices for services that were ruled illegal by the U.K. court judiciary and subsequently passed these to a debt collecting solicitor who accepted them as valid and sent formal demands for payment, including a large service fee. Fortunately a new administration, approved by the Courts, is now in place and things are gradually returning to normal. I suggest you make thorough enquiries before considering using Taray

Security guards remain unpaid by Taray Group.

Taray still hasn’t paid the security guards. This is despite him stating on TrustPilot that he ‘maintained security and essential services’. And despite the fact that many leaseholders were so scared by his aggressive (yet null-and-void) demands and threats that they paid service charges that were not even due.

Lawrence Coppen made our lives miserable

The Taray Group run by Lawrence Coppen took over the management of our site. They made our lives miserable & failed to provide services. Things have greatly improved since they were removed & the leaseholders have taken over the running of the site themselves.

Laurence Coppen the owner of the Taray…

Laurence Coppen the owner of the Taray Group is now giving himself good reviews on Trust Pilot for his Bamford Point project.

This is verified by the below, which I have cut & pasted from the Taraygroup.com Web page

Founded in 2011 by Lawrence Coppen, the business was established following the successful sale of his shares in a Plant and Tool company originally founded in 1988. The Taray Group initially operated as a property and finance brokerage, facilitating over £20 million in funding for private clients.

In 2017, the company transitioned into residential development, acquiring its first site on Cuthbert Bank Road, Sheffield. This project delivered a 45-bedroom apartment scheme, now known as Bamford Point, which remains under the Group's ownership and management, providing rental accommodation to private tenants.

Smooth and easy move in

Recently moved into Bamford Point and honestly couldn’t be happier with how smooth the whole process was. From start to finish, everything took less than a week, which made moving so much less stressful than expected.

Jeanette was especially helpful throughout the whole process. Any little issues or questions I had were dealt with quickly and professionally, usually within a day or two. Communication was great the entire time and I always felt kept up to date.

Overall, a really easy and positive experience moving in, and I’d definitely recommend Bamford Point to anyone looking for a hassle-free move.

Poor

Poor, unprofessional service. Bills sent out with someone else’s details on. No telephone number that works to contact them. Threatening emails threatening legal action when no bills had been issued.

Taray Group Ltd was appointed on an interim basis following the departure of the previous management company and during a period where there were significant operational, financial and health & safety issues affecting the development. Our involvement included arranging emergency insurance cover, addressing fire safety concerns, maintaining security and essential services, and working with contractors and local authorities to ensure resident safety.
At the time of takeover, there were substantial arrears outstanding and incomplete handover information, which created difficulties in reconciling accounts and continuing services. Any recovery action taken was in relation to unpaid charges and ongoing obligations required to maintain the building safely and compliantly.
With regards to the lift, the decision to suspend operation was made following safety concerns and in the interests of resident welfare. It would have been irresponsible to continue operating equipment where compliance or certification concerns had been identified.
We acknowledge that communication and the transition process could have been smoother and we understand that residents experienced frustration during a very difficult period for all parties involved. However, we do not accept the suggestion that actions were taken improperly or without concern for resident safety.

I was chased for money I did not owe

I was chased for money I did not owe, and threatened with debt collection if I did not pay up. It was a very scary experience.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!

Attempts to chase an alledged debt is unfounded as firstly I don't owe Taray anything.
The amounts they chased are incorrect as they have yet to receive debtor accounts from our previous management company.
They claimed to be our new management company but we never had anything official from the Freeholder confirming this.
Since January 2026 they've sent out pieces of paper purporting to be invoices, letters threatening legal proceedings, forfeiture of property etc etc.
As the Freeholder of our property has gone into liquidation Taray should know that the administrator will have advised all leaseholders not to pay anything to anyone.
However, Taray believe they are above the law and have now instructed a 'legal' firm to chase an alleged debt that I don't owe!
They are bullies and will make your life hell with their scare tactics. Be warned.
