Love my stays at the Z hotels
Love my stays at the Z hotels. Stayed in London Shoreditch and in Glasgow last week. Always good service by friendly staff that have/make time for their guests.
Rooms are sufficient and clean and always good showers.
Love their breakfast and evening nibbles arrangements too.
Last minute booking
Last minute booking. Room was modern, clean and well appointed. Staff were friendly. Good experience all in all
Terrible experience
Terrible experience, my room had ants. The breakfast was shit.
Fantastic! Would stay again
My husband and I stayed in their bath hotel for one night.
The location was perfect , right in the heart of the city centre and all major tourist attractions within walking distance.
Staff were friendly and helpful, we could not fault them.
Room was small and basic, but what more do you need when you don’t plan on spending much time in the room it’s self.
Price of the room was reasonable and if you sign up as a Z member (for free) you get 10% discount and a complimentary glass of wine with cheese and crackers and tea/coffee in the bar area.
Would 100% stay here again
Not keen to pay justified refunds
I stayed at a Z hotel in Bath which was fine. When I arrived the receptionist told me that my Expedia booking was for the wrong month -- a problem I had once before and which Expedia have told me is a software bug they are trying to fix. The receptionist then told me she had a room and I should book that direct, cancel Expedia and I would get a refund.
Z Hotels subsequently refused to pay the refund to Expedia, a similar problem to what other reviewers have described with Z Hotels. I did eventually get the refund, but only after writing to the manager and explaining the whole process was advised by a Z Hotels employee. It took quite a bit of time, which is not what I was looking for.
Superb location
Superb location, cost and brilliant staff.
Don’t like…glass wall to bathrooms.
Not right being able to see a person sat on the loo.
Z Hotel Glasgow is awesome!
Z Hotel, Glasgow - my friends and I stayed on 1st February for my birthday celebration. This was rescheduled due to storms the previous week causing all public transport to be off. Staff there are wonderful, so friendly, helpful and eager to help their guests in any way. My friend and I were in an accessible room, which was perfect, as I am disabled and my other friend was in her own double room. The toilet/shower room was huge and the full width of the room, with disability aids and adaptations in place. The food prices, room price and drinks prices were really good and the bed was so comfy. I had my first night's sleep in a long time. This is my second stay at the Z Hotel Glasgow and won't be my last. I won't go anywhere else now. The most affordable, immaculate, comfortable, welcoming hotel I've ever stayed in! Outstanding!

Z Hotel A Great Find
Great hotel, staff amazing nothing too much trouble. Great location stayed in the one in Orange Street, very close to West End Theatres, breakfast nice and cheese and wine lovely thank you all you do the hotel a great service 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Deceptive charging practices
Deceptive charging practices. Do not eat or drink in the hotels, there add 12.5 charge onto everything which is meant to be discretionary but try to get it back... good luck with that
Worst hotel experience ever
Worst hotel experience ever. I thought I’d got a great deal at Z hotel Victoria, only to be given a room in the basement the size of an assisted WC. The room was so small that we couldn’t move around at the same time, the mattress was knackered, there was a bulkhead just 2 ft over one side of the bed with two dirty access hatches, and we had to listen all night to everyone above us’ toilet flushes as they whizzed down the soil pipe and ‘landed’ behind our WC. Also bugs that looked like giant silverfish on the floor. More ‘yearn for home’ than ‘home from home’. When asked how our stay was when checking out I replied ‘not good’ only to receive the reply ‘okay, have a nice day’. They’re lucky I can’t post pics!

The staff were fantastic especially Scott who went above and beyond with his hospitality always welcoming us and very attentive. He went out of his way to give us some lovely cheeses. Our room was spotless and shower was amazing. Was lovely looking at the stars from our bed. Only bug bear would be window doesn’t open. And would have preferred a non glass surround loo! But fantastic location and smelt wonderful throughout
Engages in illegal practices
I was approached on social media by a company that had been hired by Z Hotels to post fake reviews on Google etc. They offered to pay me for each 5 star review I write. This practice is clearly illegal under UK law and violates Google's usage policies. I would never stay in a hotel that needs to illegally hire people to write fake reviews to persuade people to come!
Nightmare booking for disabled access
I booked to stay at the Central London hotel on Fleet Street, in an eventually accessible room that had a ceiling track hoist. I made sure to email a manager to ensure the booking of the room, they sent pictures confirming the ceiling track hoist. About 2 months before our stay, I saw something online that said that hotel no longer had a hoist. Confused, I phoned the hotel and was emailed by a manager who confirmed the room with the hoist was no longer available. I was shocked and angry as they confirmed to me at booking the hoist was there, if I hadn’t saw something online by chance, I would’ve turned up to the hotel after hours of travelling in a wheelchair to a hotel room I couldn’t use, effectively being stranded as that was one of two hotels in London I found that would meet my needs with a hoist. I managed to get a refund but then had to find alternative accommodation closer to the time of my stay meaning it was more expensive/less choice. No regard for disabled bookings.
Wheelchair friendly hotel
Stayed there for 2 nights in an accessible room. Easy access into hotel and lift to room, Room very clean and bed comfortable.
The staff were welcoming and nothing was to much trouble.
In the evening they offered free cheese and wine there was a good choice of both.Would definitely recommend staying there 10/10

This is an amazing location and fantastic staff , we went for a overnight stay via theatre trip which was a good location to walk to.
The rooms are well equipped with coffee and tea hairdryer and we had a fabulous shower . On the stay we had we had free wine and cheese night which was amazing so much so that we had a booking else where for a meal but we cancelled and had pizza's , garlic bread , wedges this also recommended .. we will back back !! Food was great 👍 no complaints here 🙂
Gloucester place, London
Really friendly staff, made us feel welcome! Upgraded our room for only £20 and everything there was free, drinks, snacks, breakfast. Happy with the room, it was quite small but it did the job and the shower pressure was great!

Be sure not to make a mistake on your booking as they will not refund you no matter how loyal you are as a client.
Inflexible, poor service
Nonsensical refund policy as mentioned (many times) below. Book at your peril. I have stayed at the Z hotel chain before. The rooms are average, but the price is good. The staff are also well trained. I would never book with them again due their dysfunctional terms and conditions - too risky.
Covent garden, great location
Although small, the rooms are comfortable and had everything I needed, but I did have to search for the hairdryer. The location is lovely, next to a church garden and Covent garden market. The manager and staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional. Cheese and wine for members a nice touch. Thank you.
