No Yorkshire puddings, gravy, roast potatoes had to ask for all of them,then no condiments our meat was like rubber,when we complained was told my the manageress it's the time of day ,we went to ormskirk for a day out ended up hoping for a nice dinner but we were so disappointed not even an offer of discount or compensation

I visited Toby Calvery in Woodford lunchtime Sunday 13th of September
We were made to feel so welcome by the manager James and a member of his bar staff also called James,
I had a very small dog with me and there was no problem whatsoever. It was around 1 o’clock,
The lady that actually was working on the carvery her name was Louise. I believe she was just so incredibly helpful pointing out the plate was hot for me and to make sure I had some serviettes in my hand , and also to my daughter is vegetarian. She helped her. It was just a different experience than some of the ones I’ve been in in the west London area,
So well done, James and the team for making our experience really enjoyable and we will definitely visit again when I’m next over that way visiting my family that I’ve just moved to that part of London, I must add that the food was excellent as was the pub area lovely and clean,

It was awful, completely understaffed, those who were serving and replenishing spent 85% of their time making up takeaway boxes. Queue for food was 45 minutes only 1 carving the meat and a line which snaked along the resteraunt, a lot of vegetable dishes empty or missing, mainly due to the takeaway boxes.
No cutlery, drinks order took forever and was wrong when it arrived and not rectified, and worst of all red plastic twine found in the food, which I literally watched my daughter pull from her mouth, needless to say she didnt eat the remaining food, showed the waitress nothing was done.
Bill took 20 minutes to arrive,at this point I am not going to return to the Woodford Branch.

We ordered from the Peterborough restaurant via Just Eat. The food was stone cold when we got it and we only received one of two bags. No: Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes or desserts that we paid for were included.

The beef was pure fat - despite there being a lot of it, there were only a couple of mouthfuls of edible meat. We paid £45 for this disaster. Currently pursuing Just Eat for a refund. Yuk.

Ipswich Toby carvery been there a couple of times this will be my last time as when we turned up about 9:45 am there was no eggs no baked beans the bacon was stuck together so you couldn’t separate them the initial service was rubbish standing around we had to wait about 5 minutes at the bar to get your initial payment sorted to get your coffee or cold drink option absolute terrible we has to sit at table and wait for items to be restocked absolute rubbish and the sausages were soft and had strange taste and the bacon stiff as a board not good avoid at all costs go to your local cafe!!

Absolutely fabulous time ... all 50 of us .... Anna the manageress was fantastic so was Josh the server ... we always ask for him ... Ken the chef was brilliant the meat was all moist and tasty and vegetables hot ... great experience and we've already placed another booking .... well done Toby Brighton Road

I went to the Carvery in Thanet yesterday. There was a sign saying they had no mashed potatoe fair enough I guess. Then there was no yorkshire puddings and little choice of veg. We tried to order drinks we was told there would be a 10 minute wait. It was actually 15. Then we tried to pay for the bill we was told it was a 10 minute wait. We then was told by someone different to go to the bar as we could pay there. Which we did only to be told we cant pay at the bar. We went back to the waitress and eventually paid, when we asked why it was so hectic we were told because they won't pay for extra staff because they want everything cheap. The toilets were filthy as was the restaurant. Very poor experience from start to finish.

Went to Oulton leeds, not been for a while... I can't believe how much meat they give you now it's a joke..., when she was cutting the meat I was sweating more than she was, on the drive down there I thought to myself Im gonna save a little bit of Turkey for my dog, guess I don't like my dog that much after all, I ate it all. All 2 mouth fulls!

People are still paying to eat there and it's not cheap. Won't be going again just another rip off to add to the list.

Plus side-

Good friendly young lad doing a good job seating everyone etc.. I'm rooting for the young workers I feel for the good ones who wanna work, and it's good to see great social skills from him.

Countries in a hole I get it, we now pay more for less on everything. My choice to go, and my choice to not go.
for me it's not the worth the money.

Great meal at the Cheam Rd Ewell carvery. Food fresh, hot and just what you want from a good roast.
What made the meal truly special was our waitress Laura. She was very attentive, cheerful and welcoming. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal.
Good service like hers is hard to find and she is a real credit to the Ewell team.

Tried the takeaway service, wish I hadn`t bothered, the roast potatoes were as hard as housebricks and dry, all the vegetables were squashed into one bowl and just a mass of stodge, meat was overcooked and dry the gravey was as runny as water, overall can`t say one good word about it. For £11.49 it was terrible most of it went in the bin

The food is always lovely but the only fault is the yorkshire puddings, the are far to crispy and dried out., also there is never and swede offered .service is always spot on and speedy .

Shout out for Hannah at the Arrowe Park Toby. Looked after us very well and was very patient helping us get the correct discount on our loyalty card.

Everything was fine. Food good, Eleanor was extremely helpful and very pleasant.

Unappealing cold food which looked like it had been out for many hours. Meat looked sparse and unattractive and potions were very small. Gravy at least was hot. Dinner was inedible sadly. Don’t bother going there at all.

Had two breakfast delivered this morning delivered bout 1045, 6 ,9,2026 absolutely awful both breakfast were just random leftovers, sausage was dry tasteless eggs well wouldn't call them eggs , the hole breakfast was so disappointing, as had two breakfast couple weeks ago gave them 10, star , so clearly there not consistent, who ever thought that takeaway was acceptable needs to go on a course or get glasses,

Well, I thought I would buy a couple of these new takeaway meals, as I read that one place selling them, was Iceland.
Keen to try one, the 'Slow Cooked Beef and Roasties Bake', which you can do in a microwave oven, or a conventional one, from frozen.
I plumped for the micro, and followed the instructions.
After following all instructions, I tested the contents with a knife, in the centre of the food, only to find it was clap cold!
I then kept giving it a few more 'blasts of heat, checking as I went along. When I was happy with the temperature, I then out it on my plate, sat down and tried it. Well, it was a disaster, the roast spuds were hard and undercooked, as were the other veg, and as for the 'thick gravy' well, I couldn't find much, amongst the so called carrots etc.
It was just a mess to look at, and pretty tasteless, no carrots to be seen, and the pulled beef was the same.
I gave up, and it ended in the bin.
So be warned. Can't remember the cost, but I consider it a waste of money, and won't be buying this product again.

My partner and I visited at 15.15 today for a late lunch. The menu is somewhat limited. This was the Cottingham,Hull branch. All the staff were really friendly, polite and very attentive. Food was not so nice! Dry, over cooked, bland, and as a vegetarian offering it was poor. I was very hungry so persevered with mine drowning it in gravy to moisten it. Still shocking. My partner managed 10% of hers (just the mashed potato) we paid and left having first cancelled our room booking and went elsewhere. Very disappointed, £ wasted.

Carmarthen restaurant - the portion of meat largely depends on which member of staff you have cutting it. We received slithers of fatty meat, whilst the family behind, served by another member of staff, received much thicker servings with fat trimmed. I was quite disappointed at the portion, less than what you'd find in a sandwich, and mostly fat! The veg looked tired, dried out and tasted like tough cardboard. If there was any less cheese on the cauliflower cheese, it may as well just be cauliflower. The stuffing was dry, rock solid and largely inedible. The sauces and types of gravy are not obvious and should be clearly labelled i.e. horseradish can be mistaken for bread sauce, and a vegetarian could mistakenly pour meat gravy - basic detail lacking. Kids eat for £1 during summer holidays, makes it value (except the pigs in blankets, cannot recommend these at £3.99 extra for six very small, dry overcooked pigs - over priced!)
Value doesn't mean that quality and attention to detail has to take a back seat. Mitchells & Butlers should be ashamed at their scores overall, the number of negative reviews nearly all relating to poor food are very telling indeed.
I have tried to score fairly; the venue is clean, and relaxed, the staff friendly and helpful, and cost is not unreasonable, but food itself is average (stuffing well below average).
Not a place I'll readily frequent again, unfortunately.

Have been to the Swindon Toby about 50 times, good 90% of the time. Darlington and MK are good as well. Feel sorry for the hard-working staff, rushed off their feet. Not allowed to take on more staff?!

I came here for carvery with my 3 children. Service was fantastic, great price and the food was great quality and good selection.
The children couldn't remember coming to a toby before and they absolutely loved it and have already asked to come back.
