Love this site always helpful

Worthless information unless you pay for even the basics

The search was easy to use and I got the address and telephone number I wanted for free. You have to pay after 5 searches and other services on the website do cost, but I think that’s fair enough. Would definitely recommend using them.

Really awful website, after failing to find several people, I put my own name and my husbands name, address etc. We are most definitely on the electoral register and we definitely know where we live, and there were no results for either of us. How can that possibly happen?!! Do not waste your money.

I've used the free part of this service for years, it was my first choice when trying to find a person/number.
A few months ago I phoned in to ask a question about their site to be told I was using an out of date version and they would update me.
BIG mistake. This current site isn't a patch on the old one. I wish I could wind the clock back!
My first port of call when searching for a person or an address or number is now BT which says a lot about how bad this one has become!!!

I had used ukphonebook.com before to find my friends postcode. Didn’t realise you could also get info about companies on there. Found out all about a firm who are advertising a job, so it was very useful for me.

As the woman below says, terrible to sell people's data, including those who are ex-directory (as she says: where did you get this from and what about data protection law)! You do realise that by putting this information out there you can subject people to harassment (can you imagine if a domestic abuser gets their ex's data or a stalker for example)! These companies should be stopped and what kinds of people use these companies, that is the question! What is the point of being ex directory if anyone can get your data (including weirdos).

I strongly recommend that people avoid this "service". Their data is so sparse as to be entirely useless outside that which is generally available on free services. Naturally you don't find this out until you've subscribed and your search brings up... nothing.

Rip off, stay clear!!!

Impressed, I thought this would be a scam.
At first I accidentally bought the credits on the T2A (developer) site as I came across that first and they transferred them for me to the UK phonebook site.

As an ONLINE SELLER I have found the person verification search & the homeowner verification search is extremely helpful in reducing the risk of online fraud.

I wish AMAZON & EBAY used this service to verify their buyers. In fact I'm suprised they dont just purchase this company, they would reduce buyer fraud by 50% overnight.
Quite often criminals use fake details to open new Stealth accounts on these platforms with the sole intention of stealing hundreds or thousands of pounds worth of goods from small businesses who really can't afford it.

Just recently I saved nearly £2000 on a potential fraudulent claim for non delivery from a buyer. Buyers who fail these verification checks have a strong correlation to the same buyers who end up claiming an items is not received or not as described.

I can't afford to verify all my customers using this method, so you need to do some homework first to make the searches count. I normally use it when I sense something is off with the buyer and worth a the extra steps.

Rember the post code checker is always free to see if an address actually exists. Checking the residents of the address are accurate is where this serice becomes invaluable.

Having entered my email address with a mistake, I was unable to re-connect after leaving the site. This was sorted the next day by customer support. There are some limitations in the data that can be retrieved which might explain why I could not find who I was looking for, even though I know they are still living in the area.

Bought 20 credits to check a few electoral roll adresses that were shown on 192,com. Ukphonebook.com didnt find any of them. I then checked a name that i knew had been on the electoral roll for 30 years and that wasnt found either.
Its a complete con - Avoid !!!

Always wary of sites like these, but have to say the info on there is very up to date - almost too up to date. Paid 5 quid to see what data they had on me and was able to get it removed very quickly with no hassle.

As good as this website can be, and it is to a limit, be very aware that when you sign up initially, just make sure to look up and to the right of your screen/device and to see what you are actually signing up for!!
I joined in good faith and trusting the site to be ‘user friendly’, ‘respectable’ and ‘honourable’ yet In the set up process I just happened to notice their ‘default’ joining cost was pre-programming to me joining with their £75 credit/package/deal (or whatever they prefer to call this un-user friendly slight). They provide a valid service but when it is ‘booby-trapped’ liked theirs is, you have to ask questions. Just be aware, double check, then triple check!

The only reason it has 1 star is because you cannot leave less....
Don't bother absolutely rubbush

Disgusting company. Selling people's personal data? Where did you get this from? I hate companies like this - don't you understand the risks you subject people too? The only reason I'm not taking legal action is the information is INACCURATE anyway. Joke of a site. And bet you any money their own addresses are all kept private....

Paid £15 found 4 addresses. Went on next day, wouldn't let me log on. Tried password resets 12 times. Found phone number was told someone from the technical team would call me back. It never happened. Absolute SCAM.
If you're ever in the York area call round and give them hell!!

Bought £5 worth of credits (20 credits). Used 4 of them. Logged on today and no credits!

I think some reviews of ukphonebook com here are over -harsh ...

As all phone number search sites in the UK cost for actual details it's no surprise you get little... & anti-robot "capt cha" things are normal to stop web page servers getting sunk by hacker robots

ukphonebook com (5 free searches per day) - was the ONLY tel no. search where I found a tel number of a contact using just surname & town - all other telephone/telefone search sites either had "not listed" or wanted registration & cash to even see if there was a number or not .... (most people are NOT in directories these days)

Read further ... if you want alternatives to ukphonebook com & thephonebook bt com & infobel com – etc … other ways to find people:

- another way to find people is use electoral role eg. under findmypast co uk - this also sometimes shows if person registered as a small company director ... (or use the not cheap 1 9 2 page for electoral role, of course)

- or search for directors (person) of small companies / companies eg. under official gov page - a surprisingly large number of people have/or are a director of a registered small company (eg. self employed people)

- beta companieshouse gov uk, or use the better search of free finders like checkcompany co uk / companycheck co uk / others
- once you have the company name/reg number go to beta companieshouse gov uk page & have a look at registered address... & "filing history" often gives address where directors have changed address/details.
- You might even stumble on an old application form with a phone number on (I found a mobile phone number like this in two cases recently)
