All started off OK, the problem is with the return check-in.
Welcome Cars is actually an operating name for "Moventur", check out their bad reviews too!
It seems to be their policy not to be present when you return the vehicle so that they can hit you with extra charges a couple of days later when you have no possibility to verify.
You can see from all the other reviews here that if you don't take their excess insurance they work very hard to find a reason to charge you extra.
They charged me €350 for a bumper scratch, after requesting they sent me 2 photos but it wasn't clear if it was a scratch or just some dust. They refused to send photos after the car had been cleaned.
Don't let them spoil your holiday, hire your car from someone else!

Ho prenotato online per ritirare una Golf a Cagliari. Il prezzo era nettamente inferiore alla concorrenza e temevo sorprese alla riconsegna. Ho letto attentamente le condizioni tra cui la necessità di presentare una carta di credito a me intestata e restituirla col pieno e in buoni condizioni pena il pagamento di penali. L'operatrice é stata molto gentile e precisa e mi ha offerto una 500X diesel nuovissima, con meno di 15K km, che per le mie necessità era anche meglio della Golf. L'auto non ha dato problemi, molto spaziosa, buoni consumi. Al momento della restituzione é stato fatto un controllo veloce dello stato della vettura e tutto é filato liscio senza problemi. I unfortunately drove through a zone in Alghero that wasn't allowed and I recieved a fine. Welcome cars informed me about this and took £43 as 'admin charges' a few months later I had £130 taken from my bank. I tried emailing to ask what that cost was for and didn't get any response. So I kept sending emails and eventually got one back saying that cost was the 'young drivers fee' This is definitely a lie as I already paid that when I picked up the car. I thought maybe the email was just a mistake and I hadn't recieved a letter from the Italian police so assumed that cost was to cover the fine. But today I recieved a letter from the police to say to pay the fine. So basically money has been taken from me which didn't cover the fine. So what have I been charged for?
I'm so angry and frustrated by the whole situation.

Per il secondo anno abbiamo deciso di noleggiare presso Welcome Cars, dopo l'esperienza davvero positiva di qualche mese fa.
Eccellente da tutti i punti di vista! Macchina ottima e pulita, personale disponibile ed efficiente (Laura è stata davvero molto gentile), prezzo conveniente. Meglio di cosi non si puo.

Esperienza e servizio pessimo.
Arrivate in aeroporto con auto già pagata con mesi in anticipo non ci sono state consegnate le chiavi perché pur lasciando una carta di credito come garanzia, il fatto che non fosse di proprietà dell’ intestatario della prenotazione, ma a nome di un passeggero ci è stato impedito di usare l’auto PAGATA in anticipo. Abbiamo dovuto cercare in aeroporto un’altra macchina disponibile pagandola 5 volte tanto. La cosa più grave è che non abbiamo ricevuto il rimborso, neanche in parte come scritto da contratto, nonostante numerose mail e interminabili chiamate in attesa di ORE. Procederemo per vie legali per ricevere il rimborso di quanto ci spetta.
Ribadisco che per la totale indifferenza verso il cliente e la mancanza di professionalità consiglio vivamente a chiunque di non appoggiarsi a questa compagnia. Ore e ore in attesa in aeroporto, nessun rimborso, abbiamo dovuto spendere un sacco di soldi per trovare una soluzione alternativa all’ultimo minuto e non si sono minimamente degnati di rispondere alle mail in cui chiedevamo cortesemente di ricevere il rimborso come PREVISTO DA CONTRATTO. Se non volete rovinarvi la vacanza, fate riferimento a qualcun altro.

Told me I needed an “embossed credit card” the day before I travelled on holiday. Because I didn’t have one charged £150 extra for full insurance (they were happy to use the non-embossed credit card for that payment surprise surprise). Wouldn’t accepted any other cards including my wife’s card. Won’t be using them again

Professionalitå e affidabilità:0! Abbiamo prenotato un mese fa un auto a Cagliari per oggi. Voucher in mano: botteghino chiuso, nessuna risposta né dal fisso , né dal cellulare. Abbiamo aspettato un'ora e un quarto e, alla fine abbiamo dovuto cercare un'auto tra i vari noleggi
all'aeroporto con un costo molto più alto! Considerando che stiamo andando a festeggiare gli 80 anni di mia suocera e torneremo stasera:abbiamo perso un'ora e mezzo in sua compagnia!

Had a very good experience with Welcome Cars in Cagliari Airport this September. The car rental company of my choice - Europcar shortened their office hours to 6 pm and after reading some good and bad reviews I decided to give Welcome Cars a go. I would advise to book a car at least from group D (Golf or T-Roc) which gives you enough driving joy on the Sardinian serpentines especially if you wish to drive through the mountains. Lots of travellers want to pay the bare minimum and expect a Porsche performance which is the worst approach. The VW TROC I got for our week's stay had 8000 KM on the clock and was in perfect condition. My general advice is - sort our your own excess at home otherwise the one proposed by any rental company will be costly. Take plenty of photographs in and out of the car, including milleage, roof, undercarriage and wheels before and after your hire. I'd also advise to wash your car before returning it. It's not only nice gesture (and by no means expensive at 10 Euros in Cagliari) but also can reveal the body of the car ensuring that no false claims could be made against you.

In terms of the booking experience - it was faultless. The guys are knowleageable, Welcome cars is a Sardinian family business which merged with Autovia and EcoVia. Documents provided are electronic so read t&c on their website before signing unless you have a tablet on which you can read them. They have a large fleet of 600 vehicles and 80% of these are close to new.

Abbiamo noleggiato un auto all'aeroporto di Alghero, un pò impauriti dalle recensioni negative. L'accoglienza al banco di consegna è stata veloce e la ragazza, Laura, si è dimostrata davvero affabile. L'auto era nuova e pulitissima. Sicuramente mi rivolgerò nuovamente a loro per la prossima vacanza.

C’è stata un incomprensione con la ditta del noleggio, non avendo una carta di credito a nome di chi aveva fatto la prenotazione su internet (aveva solo carta bancomat) ci è stato detto che la macchina non poteva esserci consegnata, neanche pagando con un’altra carta di credito con un altro intestatario. Quindi abbiamo dovuto noleggiare un auto sul posto tramite un’altra agenzia. La parte peggiore è che avevamo già versato un anticipo tramite il sito di prenotazione, che ovviamente non ci è stato rimborsato, e ci è stato solo detto che non potevano darci la macchina, senza neanche cercare una soluzione. Ci siamo dovuti rivolgere spaesati ad un altra agenzia sul posto di punto in bianco, pagando ulteriori soldi.

Liar cheaters and theives ... do not rent from here ! full of roaches ! With no gas ... and extremely dirty... kept my money my deposit. Lied and said i did something to they car ... looked for every reason to keep my money . !!!! Stay away !!!

Poca trasparenza

Condizionin(relative a intestazione carta di credito e primo guidatore) poco chiare cosi come prezzo x eliminare la franchigia.

Buongiorno, sono rimasta contenta del servizio recato, anche se la mia scelta era una 500 Fiat, al mio arrivo mi e stata data un altra macchina una panda, alla fine sono rimasta contenta lo stesso.

Cheaters charged me more than they said they would.

Me and my wife rented a car (originally fiat panda) in July. Due to delayed flight, we arrived at Olbia airport around midnight, so we arrived late at the desk of the welcome car. I signed a contract and the rental agent explained to me that because I was late I had to pay outside the hour's pickup fee - OK no problem I said, I understand that I was late. She also circled all the extras on the contract I had to pay (circled in yellow on the screenshot). She also told me that they do not have the car I reserved and instead of it they will give me a bigger one (Opel Mokka), but she did NOT mention absolutely anything about paying for an upgrade and as you can see there was nothing mentioned in the extras section of the contract either. Since getting a bigger car than the one originally reserved has happened to me a few times before and I have never paid for it, I did not ask - I know, that was a mistake.

Anyway on top of the outside hour's pickup fee and returning the car at different location Welcome cars ended up charging me 32 EUR for an upgrade and 8 EUR for some wash service. In total, they added 40 EUR of extra charges to my bill without mentioning it in the contract. When I contacted their unhelpful customer support and informed them about the discrepancy between the contract and the final bill, I just got a short response that the payment was done and that is the proof I agreed to all the charges.

I am disgusted about their unfair practice to charge the customer as much as they can, even when it means cheating on him.
My advice is to STAY AWAY from these cheaters.

Alles perfekt. Konnten zwischen 2 Autos auswählen. Es dauerte keine 10 Minuten und wir hatten den Schlüssel. Danke an Laura. Bei der Rückgabe gleich gut. Nochmals danke an Laura. Solch gute Mitarbeiter hat nicht jeder Autoverleiher. Ich kenne die schlechten Erfahrungen, welche viele Urlauber erleben mussten - quer durch das Autovermieter-Gemüsebeet. Die hatte ich bei anderen Vermietern bereits auch gehabt. Deshalb war ich mehr als positiv überrascht, dass bei Welcome Cars / Ecovia alles so gut geklappt hat. Chapeau!

UNWELCOME CARS

I would give them 5 stars if they were named properly as UNWELCOME CARS because then I would never have tried to use them.

Not only did they refuse to honour my voucher because I had a paper driving licence they acted in a most unprofessional and rude manner and then offered to charge me 4 times the voucher price.

Another trick they pull which I found out later is if your photo licence has only just been renewed and does not have a date of issue one year or more ago, they will refuse that as well. It doesn't matter if you have had the licence 50 years, they will just look at the date of issue.

Fortunately there was a helpful company called Dinamica at Cagliari who helped us out on what was a very unfortunate start to our holiday!

mi è stata data una macchina diversa da quella prenotata, per un piccolo graffio mi è stata applicata una franchigia di 280 euro, pur avendo stipolato una polizza per il rimborso della franchigia non ho potuto ricevere il rimborso perché la fattura del danno è arrivata dopo molti giorni
