I've had a really positive experience with Zen Educate. The team is friendly, helpful and supportive, and communication has been excellent. The process of finding and accepting work has been straightforward, and I really appreciate the opportunities they have provided. I would definitely recommend Zen Educate to anyone looking for flexible work in education.

Friendly staff, reasonable pay

I had a very positive experience at the primary school. Everyone was welcoming and supportive. The Deputy Principal provided a well-structured timetable, while the class teacher was accommodating and offered clear guidance. This helped me feel comfortable and confident working with both staff and students.

I am beyond disappointed with Zen Educate. My onboarding process has been a complete nightmare from start to finish.

First, they had an issue linking my DBS to my online account, which took them over 4 weeks to respond to my email dated 3rd August and to resolve it. After jumping through all their hoops, my onboarding has now been sitting at 100% complete for weeks, yet I am still not verified to work.

To make matters worse - my assigned recruiter, Elliot, has completely ghosted me and ignored every single email I’ve sent trying to get an update and have my account verified so I can start working. Sending multiple follow-ups gets you nowhere - your messages simply get ignored.

The level of disrespect for candidates time is appalling, especially when people are relying on them for work. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere for teaching agencies that actually value communication and professionalism.

Fastest hiring and onboarding process I’ve gone through so far. Everything is organized and easy to follow. I like the flexibility and being able to set how far I’m willing to drive for work. Hiring staff has been very helpful and I recommend anyone who wants to try an agency to start here.

The whole process has been wonderful, I'm a very anxious person and zen have made everything run smoothly and straight forward. I'm not a fan of phone calls and zen are perfect for that with their app system allowing you to control everything from arranging your calendar, payments and training. There have been occasions where phone calls have been necessary however the team are super helpful and reassuring! The name for the company is perfectly fitting as it is a zen experience when getting setting up with them and using the app system!
I'd like to say a massive thank you to my recruiter Matilda Simpson for her kindness, Patience and help that she's shown from the very beginning of this process.

My Journey had begun Jan 2026,
I had arranged a meeting with Ben for the for the 24th January at 11am which was a online booking form booked the week before to have a meeting, I waited until 12:30 on the 24th January no call or email I did try to call him no answer so emailed him, to say unfortunately I have to return back to work,
Few days later 26th with him asking me to arrange a time with him on a day I wasn't working booked this for the 3 July between 9:30am and 10:30am
There hasn't been any communication now,
Not great service unfortunately and wasted my time

Started with a Welcome by Sue, the principal. She provided a tour of the school and what I could expect for the day.
Staff members were ever helpful and supportive.
Students were engaging and fun to teach.
Love the overall VIBE in the building.

Had a great day and staff was great

Zen Educate pays pretty well.
Only issue is the work may not come often but when it does it's worth it

My recruiter at Zen Educate’s name is Rebecca. She is honestly the best recruiter I have ever worked with. From the start, she has been so supportive and genuinely caring. She checked in with me on my first day and again at the end of my first week just to see how I was getting on. Anytime I called her, she would always listen, respond and give me advice. She was honestly more like a friend and counsellor than just a recruiter! She always made me feel comfortable talking to her, never interrupted or rushed me, and made me feel like I could call her whenever I needed to.

She also made sure to check with the schools I worked at to see how I was doing and whether they were happy with me. If there were any areas I could improve on, she would give me helpful advice and direct me to the right people within the company for extra support. I genuinely cannot thank her enough for everything she has done. She really goes the extra mile and you can tell she actually cares about the people she works with. I’ve worked with different recruiters before, but she is by far the best and I would definitely recommend her to anyone! ❤️

Processed quickly, I felt able to ask questions and there was always a pleasant, helpful voice at the end of the phone. Really interesting courses to prepare for the workplace.

After a glitch in the app and some internal role moves that caused a delay in setting my profile live, the compliance team reach out to me.
Alexa completed the process with a diligent care call, despite not being a part of the onboarding team any more. Her excellent liason skills and dedicated ownership definitely deserve a pay rise.

Always helpful, they have secured me long term work in a school I absolutely love. If there is a problem, Jaymie Adams sorts it. He is a fantastic agent and is always on the other end of the phone or email.

The app works well and staff at zen are always friendly and helpful. My only complaint is to do with position offers. I’m an experienced teacher and experienced SENCO but most of the supply offers I receive are for TA positions for children with severe learning disabilities which I’m not interested in. So I’d just be hoping for a better match between experience and work offers.

My first few weeks with Zen have been great. Good communication and James T has always passed on any positive feedback from schools. Thanks!
