Such an incredible experience. Merv is a really special guy, who made the day so natural, relaxing and fun for me and my wife. The photos were perfect, and totally captured the moment and the energy.

Honestly, we already look back at these photos with more fondness than our wedding pics. Merv isn't just a badass behind the lense, he's now a friend.

One of the most fun and unique experiences I've done. This was my first time doing a shoot and Merv made me feel at ease straight away. Merv taught me how to pose and I never felt uncomfortable at any stage. A great experience I will always remember and would highly recommend.

Merv was incredible.
I was dreading it as the day got closer, and it took me such a long time to really get comfortable and let go, but when I did!! The photos are stunning, I’ve never seen myself like that. Ever
He pushed me but without making me uncomfortable, respected my boundaries when there was something I really couldn’t get my head around. I won’t lie, I didn’t come away feeling amazing, but that is all MY anxiety and absolutely no reflection on him or the process. I feel incredible about it now!!

Honestly an amazing experience from start to end! Merv was very approachable, he was kind and keen from start to end! I loved my shoot and felt at ease even when I wasn’t feeling very confident at the start. I loved so many more pictures than expected and struggled to choose the ones I loved the most. Merv’s customer service was faultless when there were unexpected hiccups with my album. I couldn’t complain as I feel he went above and beyond. If you think you can’t do it, I guarantee you can!

I had a pregnancy photo shoot with Merv and it was wonderful. We chatted, we laughed, we batted ideas back and forth and tried things out to see what worked. The photos are great and it's lovely to look back on my incredible body and celebrate all its greatness! Thank you Merv, keep doing what you're doing

The first thing my husband said (after a whole lot of 'wows') was 'My goodness, you look so relaxed in these photos!'.
I am very reserved, it's not easy to get me to open up. And so I was very nervous that I would not be able to get the same out of this experience as everyone else.
However, within minutes of arriving, Merv had significantly reduced my anxiety. With the perfect mix of silliness and professionalism, he made it possible for me to let my inhibitions go and feel so incredibly confident. He creates a safe and accepting space where you can just be the best you.
There's so much more I could write, but really, just give yourself the gift of a shoot with Merv. He's the best.

this was literally one of the best experience in my life. I cannot describe how empowered and connected to my body i felt during the shot. Thanks to constant encouragement of Mervyn, who was very professional and careful with his actions all throughout the shoot, it was even better than i expected. Honestly, what can I say about Merv and the incredible atmosphere he creates in these shoots. I have seldom felt more empowered and beautiful than I did during my shoot, a feeling that has only continued since. I cannot recommend having a shoot with Merv enough if you are wanting to feel your power again and embrace your beauty.

So glad I did this. I'd always thought about it, but never made the first step. When I landed on Merv's page by chance, I knew this was the right fit! I struggle a lot with my body image, and seeing myself this way is absolutely amazing. I feel stunning! Merv makes you feel comfortable and safe and you just have such a laugh with him.

I did this shoot to celebrate a birthday and when I was looking for a photographer I knew exactly what I wanted. Someone who would capture me at my fullest, not me trying to be someone else. Someone who'd cheer me on and boost me up. And someone who was a woman. Yup, for very valid reasons I thought that'd be the only way I'd get the experience I was looking for, and the results. I stumbled on Merv's page during my research and his portfolio was my favourite by far so I thought I'd get in touch. GIRL! Knew he was the one to go with after about 5 minutes talking to him. From start to finish I felt supported, safe and bigged up, and the photos show it. The whole experience was everything I wanted and everything I didn't know I needed. And it was just damn good fun. Couldn't recommend him highly enough, both as a person and as a photographer. It's one of the best things I've ever done for myself.

I always wanted to do boudoir photoshoot but it was never a good time to do that, because I don't like my body, I put on weight, I lost my summer tan, my hair doesn't look nice, my skin has some problems etc. My boyfriend organise photoshoot for me as a birthday gift and I must admit- it was the best gift I've ever had in my life! I didn't know Merv before but when I checked his instagram profile I felt nice connection. I had a quick video call with him, he's very active on instagram, then just before photoshoot we got great email connection and also phone conversation- all those steps give me proof that he's professional and I feel safe, comfortable and protected, which is crazy because I haven't met him technically before photoshoot! Merv is real! Real star! The way how he guide me through photoshoot it was unbelievable feeling! Of course I was nervous and stressed but also excited and I had great time during photoshoot! At the end I even cried but it was happy tears crying because I felt like something inside unblocked finally, like I crossed some barriers. I highly recommend photoshoot with Merv, trust me you won't regret that. Especially if you want to surprise someone important for you and made a gift like I received. Don't waste your time thinking when it's gonna be perfect time to do it, because it will never be a good time to do that. Just book it!

This experience was so empowering and all thanks to Merv who has such a gift at making you feel empowered in your body as well as beautiful! I would recommend it to any woman who wants to celebrate who they are and their body at any life stage, as well as those learning to love themselves. Merv has the wonderful ability to really allow your personality to shine through and his energy is infectious! I felt really safe through the whole experience, and would without a doubt recommend this experience to every woman in my life.

I came out of my shoot with a whole new sense of confidence and empowerment. I never expected to look at pictures of my self and actually love them, I was amazed.
Merv is so passionate about what he does and he makes you feel at ease from the very first conversation. You are in control and it is all done around your comfort (you might surprise yourself and suddenly feel compelled to step out of your comfort zone once the shoot begins, believe me!).
This is an experience and feeling about myself that I will remember forever. And now I also have an album to cherish as a reminder.

Had a shoot as part of an engagement gift to my fiance. Mervyn was wonderful at putting me at ease and extremely respectful of my space and comfort levels and I had far more photos that I fell in love with than I expected! Being on the larger side I was feeling pretty self conscious but Mervyn gave me the confidence I needed and we ended up with plenty of gorgeous shots to pick from. It's on the pricey side but when you consider the time, effort, and skill you get for this professional service you can see why - not to mention as a special treat it's worth spoiling yourself sometimes!

I had such a great experience - confidence is such a funny, fleeting thing, but I can honestly say that this shoot has made me feel more at home in my own skin, and more confident in so many ways. I was made to feel comfortable right from the start and throughout the process and the photos themselves - wow. They are high-quality, classy, powerful - it was so hard making a selection, but I wasn't made to feel rushed or pressured in any way which I appreciated. Would recommend You at Yours to every woman!

Here’s a short version of my review - You at Yours is superbly run by Merv who is a fantastic human with a talent to realise your wonderful self in the form of pictures. His professionalism laced with an endearing quirky attitude made the entire experience worthwhile! I felt confident and safe in the space he created pre, during and post shoot. I highly recommend this experience he offers, to find a whole new version of yourself and celebrate your body for what is it!

Here’s a detailed version of my review -
Booking a shoot with Merv was the best thing I've done in 2022. After reading his passionate heartfelt weekly newsletters for a while and listening to him speak about his work on Instagram, I was convinced and confident enough to reach out to him. Not once during the pre-shoot discussion did he push any ideas on me. I did not feel pressured to step more out of my comfort zone than I wanted to. He took out time to answer my myriad of questions and made sure I was comfortable to go ahead with the shoot.

On the day of the shoot, Merv and the lovely hair and make-up artist Lauren did what I didn't know I needed - they did not make a big deal about it all. It was a relaxing chill conversation with 2 amazing people while I got dolled up by Lauren, whose makeup skills are incomparably wonderful!

The shoot was wild beyond my imagination - because it was so fun! Merv gave me tips on how to pose, and constantly checked in with me on how I was feeling. I cannot put in words how comfortable I felt in my lingerie gossiping about my life with this wonderful human being as he took pictures of me feeling like an absolute goddess. As my confidence rose through the shoot, Merv gave me the space to embrace that confidence and I discovered a whole different version of myself. It isn’t something that anyone can bring out in me - Mervyn did that! Never did he ask me to do something I wasn’t keen on. I dared to push my own boundaries and Merv was there to (metaphorically) hold my hand through it!

Like every other woman, I was brought up by society to despise by body. It has been a journey to get to a point of self acceptance. I did this shoot on my birthday and on the first day of my period - I did not plan my period arriving on that day of course! I wanted to do this as a gift to my inner and past self for celebrating the body that has gotten me through thick and thin. And Mervyn did a spectacular job at helping me realise this gift.

The experience did not end with the shoot - I visited his lovely office a week later to see my pictures and was absolutely amazed by his work! He patiently sat with me as I painstakingly went through every picture he took and choose the ones I wanted. Again - there was no push from Mervyn on what I should choose. He gave me his opinions when I asked for it and that was it. I recently received the low resolution pictures and I am beyond thrilled to see them!

If you are on the fence of going in for an experience like this, I would highly recommend just having a chat with Merv. I can assure you he doesn’t bite! Even if you decide not to go ahead with the shoot, you will have met this wonderful human who is like a bottle of sunshine waiting to brighten up your day! And when you go for the shoot, know that you will discover a whole new side of you that you probably didn’t know existed! The experience at "You at Yours" is just incredible.

I wish I had come across this outstanding photographer sooner. I will be having a shoot at least once a year to mark a new chapter of my life.

What you get is not just photos to cherish but an experience, self development and learning about yourself that you wouldn't get with another photo shoot.

It was more than a photoshoot. It was, as you say, an experience. And one that was more emotional than I was expecting. But not at all in a bad way. From the moment we sat down to chat I knew this was the right decision for me. It was a moment that brought me closer to me, and I haven't seen her for a while, if ever. Your guidance and patience helped me overcome what I didn’t even know was there and I felt safe and free to express what I've never been able to anywhere else. That alone makes the shoot worthwhile. I stepped out of the shoot freer, less weighed down by expectation because I had been beyond brave, I'd been ME and that was amazing. She was there. The me nobody else could capture. Your talent as a photographer is obvious but your photos are astounding because of YOU. This experience is unique because you give everything to the women in your care and it comes across in the pictures you produce. After seeing my pictures I was completely blown away by who I saw in them. For the first time in my life I saw the me I see, not the one I want others to see, or the one I present to other people. It isn't even about how good your body looks, and you WILL look amazing, it's more about the power you can see in yourself now. The you that's been hiding but has always been there. Merv isn't producing sexy photos, that happens as a consequence of the space he creates for women, and what he then produces is so much more than sexy, its power. I saw my own soul in my photos, and that is a big thing to say but in those two hours I felt seen. It was extremely liberating. You will walk taller as a result of this experience and you will realise what was in you all along and it will be beautiful. Thank you isn't enough for the space you created, but it's all I have so thank you. I found her.

Merv is the photographer that everyone needs. Transmitting body confidence to someone is not an easy job, but he does it so naturally, and through his eyes he creates your body art that you can love and treasure forever, you'll see a part of yourself that you never consider or maybe weren't able to appreciate.
