Carjet: A Nightmare of Deception, Poor Service, and Refused Refunds
I strongly advise against using Carjet for car rentals. My experience was a nightmare from start to finish. I booked a car through Carjet for pickup in Italy with Goldcar. Upon arrival, Goldcar refused to accept my Brazilian driver's license, despite no clear information about this requirement on their website. Goldcar is apparently the only company with this policy.
The real problem began when I tried to get a refund. Carjet's customer service is non-existent. There's no way to contact them directly. All attempts to modify or cancel the reservation were met with automated responses claiming it was too late.
I paid for both the rental and insurance to Carjet, yet received nothing in return. Goldcar staff advised me to seek a refund from Carjet, assuring me it would be straightforward since no service was provided. However, Carjet repeatedly denied my refund requests.
The situation reeks of poor business practices:
1. Misleading information about required documents (I have a print of Goldcar website where they don´t mention any special requeriment about driver´s llicence)
2. No real-time customer support
3. Automated responses that ignore the actual issue
4. Refusal to refund for services not rendered
5. Apparent tension between Carjet and rental companies, affecting customer service
Even after numerous emails to help#at#carjet.com, I received only automated denials. It's baffling and frustrating that they keep my money for a service I couldn't use due to their partner's policies.
Save yourself the headache and financial loss. Book directly with reputable car rental companies instead of using this unreliable intermediary. Carjet's practices are questionable at best and potentially fraudulent at worst.
