Total cowboys !

As stated by others, the solar panel installers were very good and professional. As for the insulation team they were pathetic and it took several weeks and phone-calls to get the work re done in three stages. The plumbers were total cowboys and did know the legal requirements on safety. They installed the unvented cylinder in front of the solar inverter making it impossible to access for settings etc. They connected an existing copper back boiler to the unvented cylinder which is lethal and could cause an explosion, they did not reinstate a cold water supply to the shower mixer valve and then connected it to the mains supply and not the balanced hot & cold supply. The heat pump was leaning over on uneven ground in front of the lounge window. Seriously untidy pipework. There were 12 leaks which made a mess. Carpet raised and re fitted on top of bits of rubble which had to be raised again to sort out. Old oil boiler flue pipe removed and hole not patched up in wall and boiler left in situ and said they were not responsible for it’s removal. Extractor fans installed in most rooms with no isolating switches. One bedroom radiator fitted which was badly damaged. We sent Consumer Energy Solutions pictures and written evidence of the mess, we also contacted the MCS group several times with no results. We eventually gave up hope and had to pay over £600 for all the remedial work to be completed. We had to threaten court action more than once to recover the money. They should be struck off immediately especially as there was a tv program specifically about their poor workmanship and the fact they had made £34 million profit in this short period. Does “Trustpilot”not look in to these companies record before recommending them ? Stay clear !

The system has stoped working three…

The system has stoped working three times due to inadequate circulation and we have had to remove the external filter and clean it of heavy contamination each time. The contents are also a rusty brown which confirms the system was not flushed or treated with rust inhibitor. The whole system now needs to be treated with a suitable cleanser like Fernox F3, powerflushed and treated with Fernox Alphi 11 rust inhibitor with antifreeze as the external frost protection valve may now be damagedwith contaminants. Estimated cost including vat=£537.20

As explained in our last review. You told me you did not supply spare parts for your equipment. I asked for two of the removable parts that we had somehow lost. Namely the items that anchor the adjustable mounts to the vehicles and are the only removable items in the kit, they are held in position with a simple plastic plate which has a round protrusion that inserts in to the final metal L shaped hook that clips in to the void above the doors. These are also fitted to the Thule Square Bar Evo model. I can not find an exploded view of your roof racks to explain any better. I had also sent you several pictures of the two items required.

Shower pipes not connected to new…

Shower pipes not connected to new cylinder, old copper back boiler was dangerous and illegally connected to unvented cylinder, cylinder was fitted in front of solar system control inverter making it totally inaccessible, Heat pump was fitted leaning at an angle and in full view of lounge window without the required spacing to the wall, had to threaten legal action to have the room in roof insulation done at all, Twelve leaks when finished, did not remove old oil boiler, did not patch up plasterwork after old radiators were removed.did not sweep the hallway floor before sort of laying the carpet back down on top of lumps of cement an timber bits, they did not flush the system out on completion and did not treat the system with rust inhibitor. The MCS office was notified several times and did absolutely nothing to sort the problems out. We had at least three missed appointments to rectify all the mistakes. We eventually had to get the mistakes rectified ourselves and again had to threaten court action to be paid the £600.00 for the work. Rogue traders if ever there were any. Do not let them in the house without a full time supervisor.

To clarify, under the ECO4 grant, we are limited in what we can cover. Shower compatibility is assessed before installation, and unfortunately, the grant does not fund modifications to existing shower systems. Similarly, while we always remove old boilers and cap off oil supplies, oil tank removal is not included within the scope of the grant.

Regarding the room-in-roof insulation, while your property may not have initially qualified, we completed the work as a goodwill gesture to provide additional support. We always strive to go above and beyond where possible.

If there are outstanding issues, please don’t hesitate to get in touch so we can assist further.

Will not supply spare parts. Complete new items only.

We asked them to supply us with two removable parts which we had lost, they are the metal hook plates that hold the roof rack foot on to the car. The rack can not be fitted without them. They informed me that they do not supply parts and would have to purchase a whole new roof rack. We will now move to a more reputable company.
