Disappointed with Delivery and Customer Service
I was really looking forward to trying Rachael’s Cupcakes for an event, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. I placed my order in good time with a selected delivery date that was important to me, as I needed the cupcakes fresh for a specific occasion. However, the cupcakes arrived a full day late — completely missing the event they were intended for.
I reached out to the company hoping for a refund, as I no longer had a use for the cupcakes, but was told that delivery dates are “preferred rather than guaranteed,” which was apparently stated at checkout. While I understand that occasional delays can happen, I believe the burden of such delays shouldn’t fall on the customer — especially when dealing with perishable items tied to time-sensitive events.
Who orders cupcakes a day early just to risk freshness? Some might, but I prefer my baked goods fresh for the occasion they’re intended for. This was my first time ordering from Rachael’s Cupcakes, as I was considering them for future events. Unfortunately, the customer service response has discouraged me from doing so.
They did offer a refund on the delivery charge, but in my view, that’s not good enough when the product was unusable. It’s a missed opportunity for a business relationship and a lesson for others: be aware that your order might not arrive when you actually need it.
I’m sure the cupcakes would have been delicious — if only they had arrived on time.
