Kevin Hopps has been the best instructor I’ve had, and I would recommend him to anyone. He is a very calm person by nature which provides a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere in the car. He is also excellent at building your confidence up – having failed 4 driving tests prior to starting my lessons with Kev, test nerves were something I really struggled with - I had three-month worth of lessons with Kev, and I am a completely different driver. He helps you through your errors by questioning your thought process behind every action and pointing out what you are missing. I now consider myself a very safe and confident driver, and by the end of my journey with Kev, I saw him more of a mentor than an instructor.

I contacted 1st driving school on behalf of my daughter as i passed in 2016 with this company with michael harmer. I was put in touch with andy blain. I explained the issues my daughter had with previous 2 instructors (shouting at her turning up late etc) andy was brilliant. Hes put her at ease built up her confidence and learnt her to drive and today she passed her test 1st time. Hes an amazing instructor and will deinatly be recommending him and 1st driving school to anyone i know looking for an instructor. Brilliant company brilliant instructors

I passed my driving test the other day, and it’s been a wonderful experience. My driving instructor Rifhat was really really nice and was a very very good instructor. I couldn’t have passed without him! He has a very very good heart and was very patient and adjusted his teaching in the way that suited you the best. I would 100% recommend him and I am going to recommend him to a lot of people as well!! If you want to pass quick and be taught good, I would 100% use him!

I completed 26 hours across 4 months with kamal Singh, I don’t drive outside of my lessons at all. Only with my instructor I managed to pass with only 2 minors. It may be different for different people, but you have to be ready to learn. Would deffo recommend 1st class. My friend also passed with them as well.

I have just passed my driving test 1st time with Libby John. I honestly couldn’t have done it without her. She was amazing, and really built my confidence up from the get go. I would really recommend anyone to have lessons with Libby, you won’t regret it, I promise :)

Tony was a great instructor, very knowledgeable and patient. He helped me pass my test first time!

Instructor Dave Berry, would definitely recommend, really good experience gave me the confidence and skills to pass first time.

Kamal has been great, really helpful and understanding. I had a big phobia for anything regarding driving and traffic, Kamal has been extremely patient and has helped me a lot with my fear.
In the end I passed the driving test at first attempt!

I’ve just passed my driving test with 1st Driving school and couldn’t recommend Rifhat (the driving instructor I had) any more. He’s a fantastic teacher. Very calm and patient. Not only is he great at his job but he’s also a lovely, down to earth guy.
I will definitely be recommending him to friends and family looking for driving instructors in Nottingham!

The instructor Riff was really clear and calm when driving, gave constructive criticism to make me a better driver. Recommend to anyone that wants to become a confident and safe driver.

Dan Evans taught my son to drive. While I cannot comment on his ability to teach I can say how very accomodating he was when it came to arranging lessons on a Saturday after my son had gone to Uni so he could continue with the same teacher until his test.
The whole experience has been elongated due to Covid and we would like to thank Dan helping Sam through it.

I had a very positive experience in my test and very happy I passed my first time. This is thanks to Libby my instructor who has been patient in helping work towards passing for the past 6 months. She is lovely to talk to and is quick to point out any faults so that one can learn from their mistakes and not make them again. I highly recommend the school and should you be lucky enough to be matched with Libby as an instructor, you should be thankful!

Adiel is a fantastic instructor, His teaching allowed me to quickly gain confidence behind the wheel and tackle driving in a busy city. He has a great sense of humor and every lesson I had with him was always a positive experience even when my driving wasn't the best. He has great knowledge of the highway code and how to drive correctly and can help you understand the problems in your driving in simple ways. I was very nervous initially and he put any and every worry I had to rest almost immediately. I passed on my second time around and was worried about getting back behind the wheel before my second test, but his patience and experience allowed me to pass with flying colours second time around. I would highly recommend Adiel as an instructor for any one who wants to learn how to drive and have fun at the same time. He is a top bloke.

Rafhat was an excellent instructor, passed with 1 minor within 3 months and with no other driving time then the lessons I had with him.

From the first day to the last lesson there was a relaxed calm environment within the vehicle. Evreything explained was cohesive and brevity. With some tips that as a refresher course and having not driven for a while I didn't know. Which demonstrated the current knowledge and experience of my instructor. Thank you 1st Driving school for providing high level of instructors, and thank you Raf for being am exceptional instructor who I would highly recommend to anyone starting or looking for refresher courses.

Stuart helped me so much as I wasn’t feeling as confident after having a not so great start with a previous driving instructor.
Stuart was/is patient, friendly, professional, supportive and amazing throughout my whole driving journey which was even longer due to covid. I would highly recommend Stuart to anyone looking to start learning to drive as he is a great instructor and I appreciate all the help and advice he has given me.
