This is a review from my brother who did this course with 5Day-
DO NOT waste your money on this scam of a company, I wish I had read the reviews before booking with them and paying £1500.

I did my course in NOVEMBER 2024!!! Manchester branch. Passed my theory in Feb 2025 (after failing first go) and informed them straight away about passing my theory so they could book my practical in. Received one email to say will be in touch within the next 20 working days. NOT ONCE have I heard anything from them since, I’ve chased several times to be palmed off with attitude and both times said the same thing ‘you’re first on the list’ what since February 2025!!????? ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!! Scamming a 17 year old out of money, you should be ashamed.

We have tried to come to an agreement before going ahead with legal proceedings but have got nowhere ONCE AGAIN. So this is now going ahead.

Now they’re trying to say I haven’t been in contact enough as they’re saying they need to see if I’m test ready… actually laughable! You pay £1500 to have to chase them??? And how am I meant to know you need to see if I’m test ready IF YOU DO NOT CONTACT ME!!???? And why would the staff who we spoke to TWICE not say this on the phone instead of palming me off with the same thing ‘you’re first on the list’ which was clearly an outright lie!

Everyone we have had the displeasure of dealing with has the worst attitude, not helpful and just outright rude.

Please do not waste your money on this shoddy company there are much better ones and I fully regret my decision of going with them.

Don’t bother replying your stupid fake replies to this like you have the others, I’m doing this to warn people against this company and don’t get their hard earned cash taken from them.

The theory training was brilliant. Glenn was very knowledgeable and had little ways of remembering stuff. He also gave good tips for the test.

My practical instructor wasn’t good. He was often late starting and finished early all the time. We drove to the shops for him to buy food which he ate during my lessons. I did complain to 5 day but they haven’t responded to the email.

I went for my intensive week on monday the 13th of October in Bury St Edmunds, i had already had 20 hours of driving with a private instructor, which i think helped, as we didn’t have to go over the basics. My instructor Mark helped a lot, i tent to overthink and get really nervous but he built up my confidence massively. I would say by Friday, it did get tiring though. Overall I would say if your a quick learner and can handle having lesson everyday for a week then i would go for it.

I had Karen in Chelmsford she built confidence in me i didn't realise I had from the start I was nervous as only ever drove at the cardrome and by day 5 I was driving confidently and gotta thank Glen Bardwell as well for helping pass my theory test

I'm writing this nearly two months after my lessons. So I got told they'd help book a test, I done my lessons nearly a month and a half ago and not heard a thing. I was told that when that time comes I'd have my driving instructor for an hour before the test, turns out it's only half an hour. I haven't heard a word from anyone since doing my lessons. They then decided to wait two weeks before telling to start looking at cancellation websites and apps. You pay £1500 and all you get is 20 hours worth of lessons, and they have the cheek to then expect you to pay another £62 for the test. I've messaged my instructor three times for his driving instructor reference number so I don't double book him, he hasn't even read the messages. I will be seeking legal advice and I will also be getting in touch with trading standards because they have literally done nothing they advertise. Avoid this lot like the plague because they're about as much use as an ashtray on the back of a motorbike. If they actually bother to read this I hope they understand how much they're taking the piss

Was so nervous on my 1st couple of days, Leon chapmen my 5day driving instructor was reassuring and installed confidence in me as the week went on little by little. How ever some days I came away knowing more information on him then the driving. His resources (a paper booklet) made the experience feel cheap.

I had Alan as my driving instructor and he was and is amazing!! So helpful and made my experience less scary than I thought it would be!!

I had Phil for my theory classes and he was amazing aswell. I passed on the Friday and his course helped so much!

I would recommend this to anyone looking to drive!

I have just finished my 5day week learning course, I loved it. By the end of the week I was confident and positive with my knowledge to drive on the road. All my questions were answered and got the support i needed. Just waiting on a practical test now.

I would just like to thank 5day (Leeds) for making everything so smooth from start to finish. Both the training for my theory test and my practical driving lessons allowed me to pass my theory after 4 days and got me ready to take my practical test. The 5day course is one that I have found very beneficial, James from Peterborough is a kind instructor who will push you to be the best you possibly can be and will build your confidence, his lessons are tailored so that you dont stay on one activity for too long and your are constantly trying new things and improving.

I find this course more beneficial than regular lessons and cannot recommend enough.

I have just finished my 5 day course with James from Peterborough, definitely the best instructor I’ve had by far. Before this course I was learning automatic and was not progressing due to my old instructor, I never really got to go on main roads etc. I was quite nervous going from automatic to manual but it was definitely a good choice, I have learnt so much. James was always very calm and good at explaining everything not once did I feel panicked or overwhelmed although I sadly finished the course not being test ready I have learned so much more than I ever did all those months I had my old instructor(private not to do with 5day) hopefully i will be very soon with a couple more lessons and some more practice!

Alan at the Manchester 5 Say is a truly great teacher. His calm and patient approach made every lesson enjoyable and stress free. He explained things clearly, gave helpful feedback and always made sure I felt safe and confident behind the wheel. Thanks to his guidance I improved quickly and passed my test with ease. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor!

Did my course in Norwich with Leon and had such a good experience. He helped to build my confidence in driving and made me feel at ease during my lessons. I was able to pass my test with confidence with his help

I was learning to drive with james from Peterborough, he was very patient and calm and helped me gain more confidence and skill on the roads, his teaching style is very casual and takes the anxiety and pressure away from learning how to drive, would definitely reccomend

I completed my driving course with Leon in Norwich. Definitely would recommend, top bloke and brilliant teacher. Gave very clear and concise instructions and was really patient. 10/10.

This week I did my course with Rob in Bristol, he was amazing and very friendly. he has a lot of patience and I have learnt a lot and he has brought out a lot of confidence in my driving and now I am ready to do my test !

James from Peterborough was brilliant, explained things so well. Always had an answer to your question, would highly recommend

Went on an intensive course with James from Peterborough and if you get a 5 day course with him you’re onto a winner. Really enjoyed my week with him, very calm and taught me from a complete beginner to be able to operate a v vehicle on my own without any assistance.

James is a lovely bloke, would highly recommend to anyone looking to learn to drive. Never doesn’t have an answer to any question you ask him. Always encouraged me to push on even when I wasn’t as confident. Best driving instructor I’ve been with.

Completed my 5 day course with the driving instructor Leon. Would definitely recommend Leon when it comes to being a driving instructor. For many reasons, one that stood out for me was, when coming to making a mistake he would talk me thought it, loop around and do it multiple times until i was comfortable and understood. Also Leon made me feel comfortable in the car, and was very friendly and had some good laughs.

I spent £1,308.00 on the 5Day course, and right from the start I was disappointed. On the first day, the instructor running the theory class turned up late and had an unprofessional attitude. When I pointed out that he should arrive before paying customers, his response was, “I get paid by 5Day, not you.” Very rude.

My practical lessons with Mark initially went well, and I did pass my theory. At the end of the course, Mark said I’d only need 2–3 extra lessons to improve on roundabouts. I booked my own private instructor, who then told me that 5Day had rushed my training and advised me never to use them again, as they “just take your money.”

Part of the package includes a free refresher/assessment lesson with your 5Day instructor. I requested mine with Mark, but he ignored my messages for days (he was on holiday, but hadn’t replied even before then). When I phoned 5Day for help, the response was, “Well, he’s entitled to a holiday – we can’t force him to reply.”

When Mark eventually got back to me, the date and time he offered clashed with my work. After I asked for alternatives, I was ignored again – messages left on read with no response. I had to pay another private instructor for what should have been a free lesson. Later, Mark even suggested I could book another lesson, but only if I paid – making it clear he wasn’t interested in helping unless money was involved.

I also asked 5Day if I could switch instructors, but was told Mark was the only automatic instructor “local” to Chelmsford – which is not at all local to Felixstowe.

The reality is this: you’ll likely end up paying extra for private lessons anyway, as the 5Day instructors seem rushed, unmotivated, and uninterested in doing anything beyond what directly earns them money. I have call logs and message proof of all this, so this is not a fake review – 5Day can verify my repeated attempts to get support.

In short: don’t waste your money. The service is poor, the instructors unprofessional, and you’ll end up paying twice for lessons.
