I have rented a car thru 62N at the Vargas airport. When I was dropping it off I was told they did not have time to inspect with me present. The following day I received an email telling me of a damage and attached a picture of a small scratch that looked to be made deliberately. It was too high for a curb and straight and in the middle on the side of the car. Two months later I received an invoice for 10000 DKK, about 1600 USD. I feel strongly that it was a scam. I had the picture of the scratch analyzed by a body shop. Was told it should have cost maybe a hundred bucks to fix if that and also that the damage is not in a place that it would have happened while driving it.

Be careful to rent cars with them

Be careful to rent cars with them. When we returned the car, no one came to check right away. We made a video of the car once return. After some time, they claim there is a small scratch. We sent them the video proving no scratch, but they don't accept. Then we received a false repairing invoice after two weeks!!! We pointed out the miles numbers on invoice didn't match the status when we received the car. They they claimed that this invoice was just for estimated repairing cost, not real invoice. They cannot prove that the small scratch was from the car we rented, even though we asked for it. Anyway, they took the estimated cost from our deposit without any clarifying.

PLEASE READ ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! Stay away from this agency! No matter how careful you are with their car, they will find some defect after you have dropped off the car, and say that you did it. Be warned! You will be scammed! If you hire a vehicle through "Europcar", this is their agency at the Vágar airport. Europcar may seem a bit cheaper than others, but you will pay more after their robbery. They will say there was no damage on the vehicle when you rented it, but they will inevitably find damage when you return it. If you do rent from them, examine every inch of the vehicle inside and out, as well as underneath, and photograph everything. READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! They are the truth!

My go to car rental company

I’ve been using 62N Car Rental for years now. It’s my go to car rental company on the Faroe Islands. There is no fuss! They always deliver what they promise, quick to respond and very helpful in any situations. The staff is really nice and friendly. They will guide you through everything.

The latest car I rented from them was the Nissan Qashqai. It was brand new, had good ground clearance and a big luggage space. The car was spacious and came with lots of features like Apple CarPlay and my favourite………heated steering wheel! I loved that feature since my fingers get cold straight away after being outside.

Pick up and return went fast and smoothly as always.

If you want a hassle free car rental company, then these are the guys.

Great experience!

Great experience!
The Nissan Qashqai was really well equipped, reliable, and nice to drive. I particularly enjoyed the heated steering wheel 😊
Staff were friendly and upon return they inspected the condition of the car at my request.
5 stars from me. Recommended!

Avoid it

As a lot of other, they charged me 600 € for a scuff mark on the inside of the door frame witch I'm pretty sure wasn't there.

Don’t recommend this company. Avoid it and Europcar in the Faroe since it's the same companie there.

Upon reviewing the situation, we would like to provide some clarification.

Regarding the damage to the vehicle, our standard procedure involves a thorough inspection before and after each rental period. Unfortunately, upon our inspection, several scratches were discovered on the inside of the door in the back of the vehicle. The damage was not present when the vehicle was initially rented to you, as the signed rental agreement indicates.

Damage repairs are costly in the Faroe Islands, but we assure you that we do not mark up damage costs for the benefit of the company. Our priority is to cover the necessary repairs and maintain the integrity of our fleet for all our customers.

We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused you. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

Perfect car rental

We rented a car on the Faroe Islands from 62N (through a package deal). Everything worked perfectly. The car was exactly as requested (and a joy to drive), and there was no line at pickup. The employee went through the details and of course asked if we needed the extra insurance, but without the con man-like feeling you sometimes get from car rental companies.
Returning the car was even easier, again with no line at the counter, and we received the final invoice (payment for the Faroese tunnels) already the same day.
I will definitely use 62N the next time we visit the islands.

Charged me $300 for a scuff mark on the inside of the door frame. Others have complained about excessive charges for normal wear and tear on a rental car. Very dissatisfied. Don’t recommend this company.

Prisen er for høj

Prisen er for høj i forhold til hvad man får. Små værelser uden plads til bagage. Folk kunne se ind på vores værelse, så vi måtte gå ind på badeværelset hver gang vi skulle skifte.
Rumtemperaturen på 25° kunne ikke justeres, hvilket resulterede i dårlig nattesøvn, fordi der simpelhen var for varmt. God morgenbuffet og sødt personale

Biludlejning på Færøerne til 5 stjerner +

Perfekt forløb til en yderst fair pris. Selvom vi kun havde forespurgt om leje af bil pr. tlf om fredagen, var bilen klar mandag, da vi ankom til Vagar.
Og vi blev "opgraderet" med en større og en helt ny bil.
Smart at de trækker tunnelafgiften automatisk ved aflevering af bilen.
Helt perfekt forløb.

Afbestilling af billeje

Bestilte en lejebil online, pengene trak de med det samme, da jeg vil afbestille tager de 500 kr i gebyr hvilket er fint, det fremgår tydeligt af deres vilkår, men når pengene skal retur til mig, så beholder de dem i en måned. Det er totalt latterligt, der var ikke engang en underskrevet kontrakt med firmaet, så i virkeligheden burde de nok ikke engang trække pengene på min konto, men blot reservere dem.

Da jeg klager til dem over at det skal tage en måned at tilbagebetale mine penge, sender de et billede af deres "Terms" hvor der INTET står om at det tager 30 dage at sende mine penge retur.

Vil aldrig nogensinde benytte det firma til noget som helst en anden gang.

Unacceptable charges for small scratches

Unacceptable charges for small scratches.
Even when you have an extra insurance 62 N Car Rental charges you DKK 1000 for every new damage they find (€ 134 or $ 148). And be sure, they are trained in finding even the smallest scratches.
In my case: 2 cm scratch on the wheel rim: DKK 1000; and a superficial scratch, as fine as a hair: DKK 1000. Total “damage” € 268.
I did rent cars in many different countries, but never ever experienced something like this.
My advice: stay away from 62N Car Rental.
And when you make use of 62N Travel Agency, don’t include car rental and make separate arrangements with another car rental company.

The company puts small stickers all…

The company puts small stickers all over the car, where there are damages. At the same time they put the responsibility to document it, at you as customer. I had to pay additional dkk 7.000,- for a damage I did not make, but could not document was not me… Company just replied "it was not there before". Maybe they are cheap, and yes you can be additional insurance - but I would recommend you go for a more customer friendly and serviceminded company
