Bikini

I ordered a bikini, which unfortunately hasn't arrived due to COVID-related delivery difficulties.
However, customer service is really helpful and generous, trying to sort this out. The swimsuit I received in the meantime is of excellent quality.

I feel scammed, no refund and no swimsuit.

I ordered months ago and have not received my order or a refund. Aava support keeps telling me it’s on its way, stringing me along.

I got the tracking number and called the carrier, they told me that Aava did not do legal required importation paperwork and that they cannot send me my product.

Aava has declined to give me a refund despite repeated asks. I feel scammed.

International logistical issue, resolved swiftly, happy with product!

Placed an order through them in June, all the way to Malaysia. Given local transport was a headache, was a struggle to locate a parcel that got lost. Customer Support was helpful and responsive, and they sent a new swimsuit for free!

So in spite of the logistical headache, made up for in service and final outcome. Swimsuit is great and can’t wait to put it on!

Positive experience contrary to most…

Positive experience contrary to most reviews here, so I ordered a swimsuit and a towel to Estonia in August without reading any reviews and received my parcel tracking link. About 10 days passed and I started to get a bit anxious, which is when I read the reviews and got pretty mortified. I wrote and email to their customer support this Sunday and on Monday I had a reply in my mailbox, apparently their email system created an USPS tracking code automatically but actually it was shipped by Deutsche post. The new tracking code showed that my order was already in my local post office, which I went and picked up and omg, this swimsuit is amazing and fits perfectly, love it to bits. No extra post fees either but the customer support did tell me that if I should incur any fees they will be reimbursed. Anyways my experience with Aavaswim got off to a rocky start but had a very happy ending. So if you care about the environment and want to look amazing in a new swimsuit then I definitely recommend Aavaswim. Thank you Aavaswim and Sandra O., the lovely customer service person, who got my issue sorted quickly :)

Vollkommen unorganisiert und nicht zu empfehlen. Ich habe wochenlange auf meine Badeanzug gewartet, Dann kam er endlich. Gefällt mir aber nicht so gut, dass ich ihn behalten möchte. - Rückgabe wird mir verwehrt, nur Austausch auf andere Größe oder Modell.
Und am aller ärgerlichsten: seither kamen zwei weitere Badeanzüge, offensichtlich direkt aus den USA, für den ersten hat leider meine Familie Zoll bezahlt, als ich nicht zu Hause war, für den zweiten habe ich die Angabe dann schon verweigert. - Desaster!!!

friendly customer service and trusted company

A lot of people might be hesitant to order from this company because of the seemingly bad reviews. I would like to ensure anyone out there thinking to order or waiting for their order to arrive, that you are in good hands! I've reached out to Aava swim's customer service many times and I always receive sincere answers. My order got lost in the mail and I waited a long time for it to arrive, but it never did. Aava swim resent the exact same order very quickly and it arrived in two days. Just have some patience and their very friendly customer service will get back to you! Would recommend this to others also especially because of the recycled plastic material for their swimsuits :)

Updated: Beautiful bathing suit but be prepared to wait

I ordered on April 23. On June 16, I received an email saying my order shipped. When I used the tracking number provided, the UPS website says they haven’t received the package yet. On August 4, I emailed aava swim to find out what’s going on. The company’s response On August 10 was as follows:

“I have just looked into your order and can see that it has already been fulfilled, packaged up and has been picked up by the courier. Strangely it seems that my system has not picked up on the tracking updates, so I have written directly to our warehouse for them to send that through to me. As soon as I have received it I will be back in touch to share that with you.”

It’s now August 18 and I haven’t heard back from the company and the UPS website still says they haven’t received the package from aava swim. I sincerely wish I had seen these reviews back in April because I never would have ordered this expensive imaginary swimsuit.

Update on November 4, 2020:
My bathing suit finally arrived today and I love it! While I started to think the company was a scam given the very long wait of about 7 months, I found out today that it’s not and got my bathing suit! The company always responded to my emails within 2 days and if the turn-around had been like 5 months faster then I would have given 5 stars.

Our delivery delay was due to postal issues because of Covid-19 and when your order was finally ready to ship there was a system error and UPS were unable to pick up the package. However, it was absolutely unacceptable that it took so long to get back to you and to get this issue sorted out.

We've sent you an email with some ways we would like to make this up to you!

We endeavour to deliver great customer service to every customer and this time we obviously missed the mark.

I apologize to the company

I got my swimsuit! I really had to write a lot, this company and I was very worried, but as it turned out, in vain! I liked the quality of the material and the tailoring. In the end, I'm glad I got my swimsuit and I'm very happy with it. I thank the company and the managers who communicated with me.

If I had just visited this site, I would never have ordered their own swimsuit! They charged $ 130 from my card and do not respond to emails and messages! It's terribly I'm very upset and I don't know how to get my money back it's very bad that they do this to people and looking at the review there are a lot of us !!!!

I’ve taken a closer look at your case and we received your order on August 9th – your swimsuit was shipped the following day. You were then sent an automatic notification with a tracking link. (My colleague also shared the link with you again after your mail the following day.)

Your order arrived in Canada on August 12th and is since then in the hands of Canada Post.

We are dependent on several delivery services for international shipping and cannot influence this. Also, due to the global pandemic, it may take a little longer than usual to process international shipments, as I’m sure you can understand.

I have also replied to your mail. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me again!

Based in US - customs fees

I ordered back in late March and by May was hounding their customer service. I did not realise, like many on Trustpilot, that the order was coming from the USA. They kindly finally resent me the swimsuit from their new German distribution centre which was well received a couple of weeks later. Now it is August 5 and I received a form from Royal Mail that I owed nearly £25 in customs fees - I went to pay and opened the package and it is my first swimsuit. So that suit not only cost me £25 but also took 4 months to get to me.

We've looked in to your order and we're so glad that you were so happy with the order you received from our German warehouse. We opened the German warehouse in June so that our lovely European customers could avoid steep customs fees for items coming from the US.

For our customers that were faced with a customs charge we offered to reimburse you for this inconvenience. We would like to extend this to you as obviously the customs charge that you were faced with was due to the original order that you placed from our US warehouse finally being delivered to you after long delays due to Covid-19.

If you would like this then please send us a photo of your customs charge receipt and we will happily refund this to the payment method you used at check out.

Wunderschönes Design, super Kundenservice

Hatte im April einen Badeanzug von Aava Swim aus den USA bestellt. Kam aber bis Juni nicht (denke aus Pandemie Gründen). Ich wollte dann mein Geld zurück, und der Kundenservice hat mir einen neuen, anderen Badeanzug kostenlos geschickt. Am Ende kam der ursprünglich bestellte Badeanzug sowie der neue an. Jetzt habe ich zwei Badeanzüge für den halben Preis. Super Kundenservice!

Avoid at all costs!

Don’t trust the new reviews- they’re obviously fake after Aava swim found out about trustpilot. This actually already says a lot about the company itself. As so many others here I’ve ordered a bikini, waited over 2 weeks until I asked what’s going on. They just gave me the excuse about the recent situation and said it’s definitely going to be send within 2 weeks. Waited another 2 weeks and of course they didn’t send it. I never got a reply via email - I always had to leave comments on Instagram until they finally replied. I than decided to cancel my order as I was not willing to wait another couple of weeks. Thankfully they refunded me the money quite fast. However, they need to work on they customer service and stop with the excuses! Obviously they have problems sending out orders on time so they should inform the customer beforehand!

Zurücksendung eines 200 gramm schweren…

Zurücksendung eines 200 gramm schweren Badeanzuges kostet beinahe 20 Euro und es ist eine Frechheit dass das Unternehmen nichts davon übernimmt und dann auch noch 3 Wochen für die Rücküberweisung braucht (die dann auch noch deutlich weniger war wegen schlechtem Wechselkurs!) in Summe nur ein Minusgeschäft für mich gewesen.

Dont order anything from this Company !! I ordered 28 april and it is now 24 of july and i haven’t heard anything !!! Very bad service and they have stolen my money !! They shouldn’t egen have one Star ! They Deserve none !!!

I have looked into your order and I can see that there were a number of interactions between yourself and our customer service team.

We opened the German warehouse in June so that our lovely European customers could avoid steep customs fees for items coming from the US.

Unlike any other company we offer to pay the customs charges for our European customers who ordered from the US before our German warehouse opened. We extended this offer to you on multiple occasions but unfortunately you had already lost trust in our company which for us is extremely disappointing.

We have since expanded our customer experience team and endeavour now to respond to each and every customer until they are completely satisfied. We are a very small company and poor reviews effect our business greatly but more then that we want to ensure that every customer is satisfied with our beautiful designs and customer service. We can see that you have already been refunded for your order but if there is anything else we can do to make this up to you then please reach out to us and let us know.

Horrific company do not put customers first

Horrific company go ordered the swim suit, two months later I get a card through the door for custom fees, I asked the company to make the payment directly they said I needed to pay it and the would refund. That is NEVER going to happen I have asked for a full refund but don't hold out much hope. Awful Awful Never USE

Ordered back in May, arrived 21 July with £25 tax. UPDATE: Thankfully this has now been refunded to me.

UPDATED REVEIW. I ordered in May and received my package in July. with a Royal Mail Import Tax Fee to Pay (£25!) This was about to become the most expensive swimwear I’ve ever bought. However I have finally got in touch with them, they have a new team in Berlin, and I have been refunded the £25 fee. So, I would recommend to people that they continue to attempt to communicate with them, what worked for me was putting my complaint on their Instagram posts. I can see many other people complaining about this company too. Whilst their customer service has been rubbish to date, I hope that their new customer service team will improve this for everyone going forward. I will say that the quality of their garments is great, and they are really good designs. I've given them feedback on their customer service. So, if you want to shop with them, just be aware you might wait longer than you want for communication with them.

Expensive Customs Charge...

Turns out this company is based in US and you get hit with a high customs charge (30% of the cost) if you are based in the UK so what is an already overpriced swimming costume then becomes an exceptionally expensive swimming costumer. Don't bother. The company have not responded to any of my messages.

Better service received after I complained

[Updated Aug 2020 following liaison with aava customer service]

The two swimsuits I received are nice, and the fact they are from sustainable sources is great, however they are expensive for what seem like average quality.

In my previous version of this review I detailed the issues I had with it not being clear in the buying steps on the website that this was a US company that only ships from the US resulting in a long wait and steep customs charges for a UK order (despite being sold in £sterling). However having subsequently seen other reviews where customers got a refund for the customs charges after contacting aava.swim I did the same. They did refund the customs charges and *apparently* now have a warehouse in Germany so orders can be shipped within the EU without incurring import taxes. So in fairness I’ve upgraded my score from 1* to 3*. I’m not sure whether I’d buy from them again but at least their customer service was finally responsive.

I can not find any emails from you, however I can see that your order was cancelled and refunded on the 9th of July.
