Academics flood the Reed platform in education jobs. And it saddens me that I'm not welcome and can't apply. The staff lack understanding and empathy, than just a business to make profits.

Academics has been excellent in helping me get back into teaching by providing regular daily cover work as well as short-term placements. The process has been smooth and well organised. They have connected me with a number of good local schools.

Daniel, the Associate Director, has been my main contact, has been fantastic to work with. He has been very supportive, responsive and proactive in finding opportunities that suit me. His communication has been clear and consistent, which has made the whole experience very positive.

I graduated this year and never had a full time position where DBS checks, National Insurance numbers, birth certificates and every other official document relating to my identity were involved until entering the world of education. Setting up your profile can take time if you’ve haven’t done something like this before like me! But, this company is genuinely always on the ball and on the other end of the phone to help and communicate really well all the steps. Sugesh from Academics who has been helping me the entire process has been super lovely and really helpful for me. Before each cover shift where I filled in for certain schools and before my trial shift at the current college I work at, he sent me information/ expectations about the school, spoke over the phone before and after the school day for check-ins and to ensure I was happy and comfortable. Sugesh didn’t make me feel pestered or pressured like other agencies I’ve worked with in the past and that’s what makes me appreciate him so much! He is patient and understanding. So albeit the initial vetting can be a little bit long, it’s all worth it in the end!
