I added an extra$20 to my kids account, said it would take three days .. He still hasn't received it. Paid allowance, again ..$20. he only got $15. Where's this money going?! Not happy

This place is a joke. Someone stole 430 from my venmo account sent it to the acorn account. They have done nothing to help. 430 is nothing to laugh at in this economy. Good luck with any disputes.

I only gave this one star because I wanted to continue! Under no circumstances get this card for your kids. I had it setup to add a max of $10 to my kids account and hackers were able to circumvent acorns security and as far as I can tell transferred anywhere from $1,200-1,500 from my bank account to acorns card. Primarily several Apple, Target, and Amazon gift cards were purchased! This was supposed to be a safe way for me to introduce my kid to having a card and this is what happens. I would like to point out that issues did not start until the transition from gohenry to acorns. Now I have a case opened with acorns to get my money rightfully refunded. I will provide an update if they make it right with me or not.

Closed account 8/9/26,call every week to see where my kids refund is. They Lie and say 3-5 days,you are scamming children’s money,look at the bbb-hundreds of comments on stealing money

Make easy to separate my money with the kids money and make easy they can be happy and is the motivation the kid and that’s good for me. I open the account and I was not longer using the same email, but I got access finally just now and another using another email and I got, access, again and I have a good spirit with It

Just find a brick and mortar bank that offers accounts for children. Or stick to cash. This service is not worth the headache or the subscription fee. The debit card does not work consistently, even with adjusted parental controls. There is usually a 50% chance that the card will decline despite having sufficient funds, and I will end up needing to cover the purchase. One recent example, my child was attempting to purchase a video game. The charge would not go through the card, despite the test/verifying charge of $1 from the company going through. I had to cover the purchase myself, again. In those instances, your only option is to transfer the money back to your parent wallet in the app. There is no function, on the app or website, that allows you to transfer your money out of Acorns to refund yourself should you have to cover a child’s purchase. Acorns requires you to email customer support to initiate those types of transactions. Emails take days to get a response, and refunds take even longer. Recently, my child had saved up a large amount of money for a bike in his Acorns savings account. When he went to use the money, surprise, debit card did not work. I covered the purchase, and emailed Acorns Early support to initiate the refund to my bank account. I did not need or want such a large sum sitting in the parent wallet not collecting interest. We are now going on 3 weeks, 8 email threads, and 3 support calls, and my refund is nowhere to be seen. Their support team also does not have a secure portal for sending financial information. They have asked me more than once to send sensitive financial information (bank statements, account numbers) to them via unencrypted email. When I have asked if there is a more secure way to send these, I am told no. At this point, I am canceling my account and reporting Acorns Early to my bank.
