I was too stressed to call Avantis as this was a collection agency, however, when I did manage to call, the help I received was exceptional. The representative was extremely helpful and managed to resolve all my issues. The help also extended to calling HMRC on my behalf which I thought was amazing and supporting above and beyond my expectations. You have given my confidence back and I just want to say Thank you so much!

I'm not who you think I am
Received an email addressed to someone with a completely different name, telling this person he needed to pay a DVLA fine. I have no idea how this company came by my details, and when I asked I received a vacuous answer suggesting I contact their client for information on that. Pretty sure there are a number of GDPR regs being tested here.

Independently check before you pay anything
Two years in a row I have been sent letters claiming I am in debt due to HMRC (I am not). Twice I have contacted on the day of receiving the letter only to be told they are no longer dealing with the reference number I provided because the customer (HMRC) have updated something to show I don’t in fact owe them anything. Awful way for a system to run putting stress on people thinking they owe money when they don’t. This seems like it is going to be a yearly event at end of tax year.

She was professional,articulate and very understanding of my circumstances.

Misuse of Data
Advantis have plucked my address from the internet and used it to try and find someone related to me. Debt collection agency should get their facts right before sending alarming letters out. They are gaslighting me by insisting that person is linked to this address other than my surname, so they can't admit they scramble through thin air to find a link to the person they are searching for.
