We managed to spend about £20 on sales calls one afternoon, all from the same number.
I had planned to opt for the direct debit option, but having the Answer and bank account charged that quickly thought better of it.
Have contacted Answer about this, but if they answered the call, we pay.
EDIT: I did send a u2u, but the response was not helpful and therefore will have to not bother topping up our account

This is a waste of time, They didn't know what i was talking about at first, I did not get an answer to my question. Only a £30 payment to them after signing up for £1.
Then they want another £16 to sort out the problem over the phone.
Complete waste of time and money

Answer.co.uk have been our answering service for over 10 years and really have become part of our company. The service has always been excellent, and the staff at answer show initiative when it comes to messages that are high priority. I recall one time when a radio station called our office in the evening and went straight through to Answer.co.uk. The station urgently needed an expert in our field to appear on a show that evening. The Answer.co.uk team member recognised the urgency and that at 8pm it was unlikely we would be checking our email, so called us on the mobile number they held for us and got through to our CEO. Now that’s what I call five star service. I wouldn’t use any other answering service.

Was a long time user of what used to be a great service, simple calls £1 a pop, great. It is no more. Similar to other users we noticed the top-ups were becoming more frequent so investigated. Thankfully we use a different company to supply our numbers and features, one of which is call recording. We were able to listen to some of the calls which were costing £6/7 for a most simple basic call, one even £10. I actually called our own number and hung up, even this appeared as a charge for £4.75. Anyhow, if you have the facility, listen to the calls you are being charged extortionate rates for, you will be under no illusion as to what is going on. If you don't, it is outright dishonesty. When reported a supervisor will refund the complained about charge, but it will have been going on for quite some time. We obviously moved.

I agree with the comments below that answer are no longer the company they once were. We used to pay £1 per call and then they started charging £1.75 per call and then we realised we were topping up with £50 every few days but were not get many phone calls.
When we asked answer what was going on they said that due to their fair usage policy which we have never been notified about or heard anything about, they are now charging per minute when they answer the call so now their operators will chat away to people who phone in to run up the call cost so we needed paying around £6 per call, which is a total rip off.
We also get lots of spam calls and we are paying on average £6 for them and answer seem to be happy just rip off their customers and when I complained I was fobbed off and told its in our terms and conditions which I take it they change when ever they feel like and do not tell anyone.
We can get another company to answer our calls for £1 a call so we are leaving answer

Used this company for many years, we joined when they were £1 per call. Recently noticed that we were being charged £1.75 per call plus VAT from their website (we were not notified of any change) but it didnt explain why we were being charged for 2 to 8 calls for the same telephone message. Without notifying us they are not charging per call unless it is under 2 minutes so when the multitude of cold callers call and chat with them for a while you get a £10.50 per call bill. The irony is they claim this is under their "fair use policy" but I have only ever asked for a brief message to be taken, not for their staff have a long chat with a scam caller.

Recommended by a friend. I haven’t looked back since. Easy to setup and very flexible. The team at answer are really helpful and responsive.

We have used Answer for a Month. Their website states that you will be charged £1.75 per call. Only 7 of 31 calls we charged at this rate. The average was around £4.25 and the most expensive call was £10.50. At no point were we informed that we would pay more than £1.75 per call. Certainly not 5 times that amount without any prior notice. We we charged £157.50 for 37 calls. And their customer services will only deal with people on an email not on the phone.

Can't fault it. I manage a hotel and whenever we are short staff we divert our calls to Answer.co.uk. The team are very professional, log accurate notes and are always consistently friendly. We've been using this service for about 10 months. The fact that they allow you to pay-per-call makes it very cost effective and a no brainer for us.
Would definite recommend. Keep up the great work team :)

I found Jo professional, warm and patient. Sometimes I need things explaining a few times for me to fully understand so asking Jo to repeat herself a few times and hearing her calm voice responding was very comforting not to mention covering all the issues I gave her and getting through the phone call with relative ease. Good service for people who need quick messages taken. If you need a more lengthy message taken, then their monthly plans with inclusive minutes would probably be more cost effective.
Messages are taken down accurately which is important when it comes to names and contact info.
Thank you Matt for giving me various options that would be more suited to my requirements.

I wasn't sure what to expect from Answer.co.uk
I've used a call answering service before, and they were OK. But as a solo business I don't get a lot of calls. I did want someone to take the calls when I was unable to and pass on messages. This is where I was really impressed, the calls they have taken have been handled even better than I could have hoped! I'm delighted with their professionalism and how they dealt with my calls. I'm really happy with their service and will certainly be sticking with them.

What a shame. Previously - they have been good and I have been with them for about 8 years. REcently VERY expensive and I kept loading credit, with it running out within days. Its now £1.75 per call and apparently if the call goes over 2 mins, its double, triple and quadruple. I have been charged £7 many times for calls this month and only when I queried it was i informed that if its over 2 mins - it goes to the next level. I cannot believe my customers are on the phone for over 8 mins with a small question ???
Such a shame as they used to be good . Would not recommend and will now be closing the account immediately - sharks !!

I have been with answer.co.uk for several years now, but now after several attempts to get an issue resolved I have closed my account. I have no issue with the polite and helpful receptionists who answer the calls.
My issue? I was being charged for phantom calls that were not diverted from my main number but where going direct to my divert number allocated by answer.co.uk. No one except answer.co.uk and myself know this number. In just 2 days I was charged £7 for phantom calls.
I tried to raise this as a legitimate issue but was told this is their standard practice. I find this morally and ethically wrong.

Since closing my account I have had yet another phantom call logged on my account and txt sent to me saying the account is now in arrears, of course it is I closed it and had the balance refunded.
