I just got scammed for $300.00 this is totally unfair. $80.00 service call. Tells me he can fix it but it will cost $280.00 but he will give me a deal for $260.00 plus tax. I go to see him and he is on social media. I ask him what he is doing he said he is done. It took him 35 seconds? He said I need a new part $480.00. I feel really bad that I fell for these scammers.

Came to my house for 20 min, said they could fix my washing machine...fixed nothing, did nothing and charged me $300.00!!!
Do not use this company!!!! I’ve made a complaint with the better business bureau!!

The repair man ...lmo , I kicked him out of my house when he said he has to charge me 180 to further investigate the problem ....he was the worst problem.

I want to give them a zero star. This company is crook. The service repair person came to fix a spinning cycle problem of washer. He gave me a quote of $320 plus tax. He wanted to be paid first before the repair and I did. I then mentioned the machine was quite noisy. He said he would look into it. After working on it, he told me he fixed the spinning cycle stoppage problem but to solve the noise, he recommended to change the tumbler which would cost $1,300. I said I would think about that as I can live with the noise as long as the spin cycle problem fixed. He said it was fixed and that the washer is working. When I used the washer again, it stopped at the spin cycle. The company denied all responsibility saying that the spin cycle cannot be fixed without changing the tumbler which I was not told in the first place. I was told clearly the spin cycle was fixed. The change of the tumbler was to fix the noise of the washer. Do NOT ever use this company.

A repairman showed up at my house and gave me a quote for $ 300 to service my dish washer without even laying a hand on my machine. I called repairman's customer service to complain and they asked we to call the next day, since the technician had not filed his report. 24hrs later the report was still not in and I was promised someone would cal me. 3 days later no call so I called again. This time they were ready to discuss. I asked why I did not get a quote for the actually issue versus a quote for servicing the entire dishwasher. The answer in a nut shell, this is how they conduct a service call.
When I stated this was wrong, so what did I pay for? The answer was for the technician to drive up to my place.

I want to give a minus. Fell victim to this company. Out more than cost of new dishwasher and they told me owners do not talk to customers ....sure have your lawyers call us. Totally ripped off by a throw parts at it...and hope it sticks. Call centre said closing case if you do not accept same tech who did the Google search to order more parts and sure have a lawyer contact us. Do your research before calling anyone.

I just recent fell victim to this scam as well. I unfortunately paid by Debit as they do not take credit. $300 to tell me that I need a new motor. No attempt to repair. Quoted me $1300 for a new motor which only costs $640 from manufacturer. I really wished I took the time to find more reviews before calling these jerks. Does anyone know how I may be able to get my money back? I called my bank and they can’t do anything.

I called for a service beginning of April and they sent a technician to check my appliance on the date I asked. I was told the repair labor cost is $280 plus tax in addition to the parts. So I accepted and paid The labor cost. The technician promised to order the parts for me the next work day and quote the price. Since then, I haven’t heard from them again. Two weeks ago, I called to check the status and was told by customer service that the parts department will contact me on Monday. And no single word have been heard again. I called today again and was asked to call tomorrow when the parts department is available. What a service! Perhaps tomorrow they will ask me to contact manufacturer myself for the status of the parts. I am so disappointed and will never ever recommend them to anyone. Mark my word.

WORST company ever. Total Scam. Nothing but lies and incompetence. I echo all the complaints i've read. Thank GOD I paid with a credit card. the Credit card company is reversing the charge. NEVER USE THESE GUYS!

This is absolutely a scam.
I had a technician over for my oven
Spent over 1000 bucks for the service and the mainborad rebuilt by whirlpool.
The part came back nobody notified me.

I called them they sent the same technician over. The technician told me that the mainboard's processor, with limited knowledge everyone knows what a mainboard is and the processor is the only important part, IS NOT REPAIRED. So the technicien Saïd I will be refunded but need to pay 120 lab fee, FOR THE LAB TO NOT TO DO ANYTHING. FOR THE LAB WHO KNOWS THEY CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE PROCESSOR BUT STILL LIED TO ME AT THE FIRST PLACE.

THIS is a company with no honor and full of lies.
Don't trust them.

If it was possible to give no stars, I would do that. The only good thing about the whole episode was they came quickly. Cleaned my dishwasher which was not draining water. Said that it was working at 60% capacity but to repair totally would require $911.96 parts and labour. I said no - happy with 60%. When he left, I tried to run it through a cycle and it stopped working totally. Called the company this morning and was told that the machine could have been working when he left and then stopped. REALLY! Said that the technician recommended the additional parts and service and that I had refused.
So according to the telephone person today, I spent $280 + tax to have someone tell me that I needed to spend another $900 + to make it work. I thought that was what the $80 service charge was for, not to do a bait and switch, to get even more money out of me.
I am beyond angry. Assessing my next steps.

I'm pretty sure this is a scam. We called this company desperate to get our dryer fixed – we have a toddler, so lots of laundry – and they came right away. They gave us a list of prices and said they'd fix it. $300-some later nothing was fixed. We asked for a refund and they had $50 refund ready – complete with a form that pledged we couldn't sue or pursue other action. If anyone wants to pool together for a class action, I'd be interested. It's the principle. This type of company shouldn't exist.

I bought a house and moved into it - and realized the fridge was not cooling. I was very desperate to repair it, and Appliance Repairman promised fast service, $80 for technician's visit, which seemed fair at that time, - so, I made an appointment.

The technician came on time, was pretty good at making sure I sign all the necessary paperwork, and was very accurate to get my signature before proceeding with any works.

After first diagnostics he told me, "the main board needed replacement" and that it would cost $280.00 plus tax. "However, - he added, - it doesn't guarantee that the fridge will work". He said, that after the board is replaced, then maybe the fridge would work, maybe not. He got my signature that I agree to it. As I said, I was desperate - and exhausted after the move.

When the board was replaced, he announced that the compressor is dead and needs to be replaced too. And the cost was... $1370!!! I told him, that I could buy a new fridge for that amount (in fact, for even less). "But you have a very good, almost brand new fridge!.. You won't buy the same for cheaper than $2500! I am saving you money!"

That's when I realized it was scam.

When I went shopping for fridges, clerks and technicians in stores told me that the real technician would know right away the problem with the compressor, and $1370 is too much for a new compressor.

Unfortunately, I can not do anything except for writing bad reviews about this company and hoping that nobody else will be tricked the same way.

Is there a possibility to write a Google review about them? I see a lot of reviews here, but none - on Google.

Scam artists extraordinaire who deserve 0 star rating.
Beware - they do not employ licenced, trained, professional repair technicians. Their workers do not have common sense or know any basic plumbing. Besides overcharging us, they flooded our main floor laundry room which seeped into our basement.
Mike, the brains behind our flood, decided to cross-thread nylon tape into the washing machine hose and then finish it off by using Teflon tape on the outside of the hose - for extra measure, we can only assume. He then proceeded to push the machine back into the wall so we couldn't see his stellar repair performance until it was too late. We got a full refund by contacting Master Card and stopped the payments. Appliance Repairman tried to recapture the charges but it was futile, as is their entire business model.
Always pay by credit card and stop the payment if you can. Take photos and fight for your money back. We learned how important the process of due diligence is before calling any service into our home so it will never happen again.
Next step, submit complaint with the Better Business Bureau and only use BBB approved companies going forward.

I am writing to you about the service I received on Thursday April 18th 2019 by a technician named Sam from Appliance Repairman. On the phone the company quoted me $80.00 to start with an additional $30.00 every ten minutes to install and attach my dryer to my washer.

When Sam arrived he walked into my apartment and told me it was “too hot.” When I asked if he wanted a drink, he said “beer?” I then explained that I didn’t have beer at my place and the only drink I had was water. He then stated “only water?” and was upset.

From there, he explained that his work would cost a flat rate of $320.00. When I explained that this was not the deal I discussed over the phone, he said “okay let’s say $280.00. I am a slow worker so that is the better deal.” Once again, I said “no” and explained that I wanted to be charged the rate they quoted me on the phone.

Sam sat down and read instructions for a very long time. I was being charged the entire time he sat down and read the instructions.

He then worked on the dryer for a bit and said he couldn’t fully install the dryer because there wasn’t a clamp. I explained that I would go to Canadian Tire and buy one. I said that I’d take an Uber there and back and would be back within 20 minutes.

Sam then told me that he was “a fast worker” and would be done within twenty minutes (it took him 40 minutes after saying this).

Sam was also constantly staring at me and I was home alone and felt very uncomfortable. He often took “breaks.” He kept stopping to tell me about things. The first thing he wanted to talk to me about was the importance of a warranty (and he would stop working as he talked). I explained that I wanted him to work and explained that I made sure to get a warranty. He then stopped working to ask me when I booked and I asked him to keep working. He also stopped to ask me how much my washer and dryer cost. He used any excuse or question to waste time.

From there, I knew he wasn’t doing anything and stalling time so I sat in a room near the washer and dryer.

He then stopped to ask me personal questions and asked if I owned my condo and asked me what I did for a living.

He also received a call while he was working so he stopped doing his work.

Overall, he “worked” from 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. and I made sure people called me afterwards to make sure I was safe. Sam took a very long time to pack up his tools and continued to ask me personal questions. He made me feel entirely uncomfortable and it has taken me so long to write this because I was worried I would look like a fool. Then I started thinking about women being stuck at home with him and knew I needed to speak up.

The total cost was $283.80 from 8:30 – 9:30 and it was the most uncomfortable experience I have ever endured. The whole time I was a) being cheated on money b) being harassed with needless personal questions c) fearful for my safety.

Please never ever use this company.

Do not use this service. They do not do business the right way. The service individual sold me on a labour diagnostic where the labour cost would not change to fix the machine, then came back with a parts quote that was more than a new machine (after asking him point blank whether that would be the case before he started his work). Kicking myself for being a sucker. Buyer beware I guess!

We wish we would have read all these reviews before we called them as well. They did not fix the problem. I was quoted $80 to come out and diagnose and fix the problem but they ended up charging me $300. Wanted another $460 to install a part that costs $45?!? I told them they are scam artists and they said that is how they run their business. I ended up calling the actual manufacturer and they gave me the phone number of an authorized repair person. Which I recommend everyone to do. Do not trust the Appliance Repairman!! I don't know how they come up as first when you google repairman but they don't deserve that spot. I learned my lesson and I hope people will read their reviews on here and run away from them as fast as they can. Oh and another thing. They will only take debit because you can't argue the charges like you can if you put it on visa or mastercard. Honestly I am so upset. Everyone please go somewhere else. Do not trust them!!

Oh my... how did I miss these reviews. I usually check all the reviews before I buy anything but I guess I was so desperate last night when my dryer died on me. They charged me a little bit over $500 for the $280 washing machine with the dryer. The part they replaced was the thermal fuse and I got charged for almost $150 for it. When I checked the price online, it was $21.99 at Walmart. I gave them one more star just because of their quick service. But I would not call them again nor recommend to my friends or family.
