Recently their "Award Winning Support"…

Recently their "Award Winning Support" just won trophy for "worst of all time". Transaction manager was on hold for 30 minutes They will not release an e-check payment to our company until they talk to account administrator. Adminstrator made two calls of 17-26 minutes each on hold which starts ringing for the specialist and then hangs up.

Authorize.net... I hope you're paying attention!

In past years I would easily give Authorize.net 5 stars. In the last month however, and especially today, I have to give them 1 star. I don't know what they are thinking with requiring a new pin every time you log into your account (which is multiple times a day), and now today, their system isn't working at all. Authorize.net... I hope you're paying attention. You're pushing decades long customers away. We don't want to leave, but we will... If you don't fix these problems quickly.

Awful business practice

Awful business practice. Started easily with them and then for two months they have been withholding our funds from customers. Now we can't ship our product and are trying to get authorize.net to at least refund the money, but they have not yet. Customers are getting angry. Basically, they are stealing our money at this point. Have hired a lawyer now to file a suit. Stay away. Why can't they get their act together? We are about to pull our parent company multi billion dollar account from them.

Pin update issues and horrible customer service

They used to be okay, but ever since they updated the software to have a pin it has been horrible.

The pin doesn’t work and I have to do it 5-10 times every time I try to login. Authorize.net says you should only have to do this once every 24 hours but this is a lie. The pin they send you does not work and you have to keep trying over and over with different pins until it works.

Their customer service is horrible, they hung up on us twice even though we were not rude and wanted to learn how to fix this issue. Please stay away from them.

Authorize.net cancelled my new account and froze my funds without reason or explanation

On 9-24-2023 I finally accepted the terms and conditions and application form for Authorize.net to process my website's e-commerce and online credit card processing. After a few days, I noticed that my funds were not being deposited into our company's bank account. I contacted Authorize.net’s customer service to request an explanation and their representative told me that he has forwarded my request to the appropriate department, and I would receive an email with an account representative in charge to address my concerns and questions. Nothing was received and no email or call was made to me. I called again and discovered that the first representative never opened a service ticket and that this new representative, Sam, would now open a new service ticket. I then received an email from them asking for a Preprinted voided check to verify my bank account which had already been verified in the initial application and contract. I once again complied and sent the requested voided check to the email for the underwriters/Risk Department which had already approved my account. The next day I called again and I was told that it takes two business days to get a reply and a decision. Meanwhile $14,000 of funds were accumulating and not being transferred to my bank account. I explained that my application was already activated by the underwriters and I was using Authorize.net to process my online payments which now has summed up to over $14,000 and not been deposited into my account. I had been using PayPal with no risk issues for over 10 years and would gladly send them all the transactions reports for their information. The representative told me to wait for their decision and I would get a reply soon and there should be nothing else that they will need. I explained that the bank account had been verified in the initial application and why was I being asked to provide this information again which I once again and gladly offered with the voided check. He could not explain and once again asked me to wait for a representative to contact me. I also mentioned that two of their representatives during the application process promised and guaranteed a 3-day funding time for my account which has turned out to be false. Much to my surprise, I received an email after the call informing me that my account has been closed for no reason and that my funds will be held up for 120 days! I am the owner of this company and have been using PayPal for our e-commerce for over 10 years and due to some incompatibility issues with PayPal and my website e-commerce forms I decided to move on to Authorize.net and give them a try. My company has been in business for almost 30 years and to have been treated with such neglect by Authorize.net with no justification and to have my company's funds frozen with no explanation is unacceptable and frankly fraudulent. My company has not violated any of their policies. I have provided them everything they asked for and have been approved for transactions. I was merely investigating to find out why my funds weren't being transferred to our Business Bank Account and suddenly received a closure notice and the withholding of my company’s money. I request that Authorize.net explain why they closed my account without any reason and to provide that in writing to the FCC/FTC and to me and to release my funds as they had agreed to in 3 days for each settled transaction. I have all the paperwork, signed application form, which they approved, My Gateway ID and Merchant Account number and all the correspondence I have had with their representative. This type of fraudulent and haphazard method of doing business with an established company with excellent standing and reputation in the industry, such as my company, is unacceptable and shameful on their part. I hope and expect for Authorize.net to resolve this issue immediately and release our funds and transfer to our bank account.

NOT GOOD, AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND POLICY

Worst credit card possessor in the world!!!
This company must be shut down immediately!!!
One of my clients dispute charge of it $1096.42 by mistake, then ask us to charge again, so we did. Because of this dispute Authorize.net put on hold in reserve $12000,00 from other clients!!! After numerous hours of phone tags they released $6000,00 but they still holding in $3000,00 for no reason!!!
when we wrote notes to risk department, saying that case was solved and resolved !!! We asked them to release funds of $3000,00, they just charged my client again $1096.42 and deposited to my account !!! We decided to make our investigation, we printed all successfully settled transactions for 4 months and check bank deposits from authorize.net and found that $15000,00 was missing!!! How much would be missing from the almost 3 years???
Speechless!!! My CPA taking care of it and if we need we will file a low suit!!! Just a shame!!!

Authorize.net do not accept and card payment from us, neither do they have an option of paying by Direct Debit and take over a month to allocate any BACS payments. They therefore cut us off every day and when we call them there is no-one to speak to...

This is the worst service…

This is one of the worst service companies we have found in 20+ years in business. Logging on to complete some transaction thru their service, we discovered that Authorize.net had arbitrarily erected an obstacle, in effect a 3rd password,for us to access our account. Tried calling their service number for relief, they said that they may not answer for 10 minutes; at 35 minutes, still no answer. we are seeking another service to settle our credit card payments.

Easy For New Merchants to Navigate and Use

So far, Authorize.net has delivered adequate service. I am a new business owner and am just starting, but I find their merchant interface easy to use. I added the CIM and feel it's reasonably priced and easy to use as well. As simple as it sounds, one of my favorite things about the entire site is that there are always tabs I can click on for directions or an explanation of whatever I am looking at. It saves me time and the frustration of scrolling through the manual to find what I'm looking for.
My monthly billing has always been accurate, and there is always an updated record explaining everything I paid for. Once again, it's easy for me to use as a new merchant. All in all, I have had a positive experience with this company.

ECOM nightmare! THE XFILEs

This is the most disturbing thing that could happen in the e-commerce environment. These questions all the foundation of the e-comm industry at levels that everyone should be revising what is happening with all the transactions that are going between Authorized.net and Shopify.

We have got 314 operations that Authorized.net flagged as potential fraud and needed attention from our end, (of course we did not review then on time) the transactions went from FRAUD risk to a new EXPIRED status. So far, we understand this regular process, but here comes the X-FILE, all 314 transactions that were EXPIRED arrived at Shopify as approved (at least this is what Shopify is stating), and the result of that was the system and the 3PL shipped the 314 orders in value of approximately 52.000 American dollars.

Right now, after a few weeks of being pushed between these 2 monsters, saying that it’s impossible this to happen, we are getting ZERO solution and being requested to provide tech info from each other day after day and week after week.

If we can’t longer relay on the transactions that we are getting from this billions of dollar companies, that their job is to guaranty that the transactions are getting paid and fulfilled, what is left?

I challenge and ask for all of you to check on our transactions, I cannot believe that we are the only company in the globe facing this crazy anomaly in the system.

Worst Customer Service - Not Responsible for Their Errors

Had a fraudulent eCheck transaction. Was told by support to refund check. Authorize Net refunded it twice which caused money to be taken out without receiving funds. They claim they cannot return our money. We're out the amount they refunded twice. Worst business practices. No controls. No accountability. No responsibility for errors. Customer is always wrong and not reimbursed for their mistake. Worst experience. DO NOT do business with this company. Their software is outdated and flawed. Their fee structure and statements are so confusing to reconcile. They charge fees galore. Stay away!

Beware is using ACH

After a few years of using Authorize.net without notice or warning, they disabled our eCheck feature and still allowed clients to pay via ACH. They accepted the payment from our clients and then froze our funds for what they said would be 90 days after the last transaction via ACH. You would think it would be 90 days per transaction but they kept pushing the date to 90 days from the latest transaction. They claimed they sent an email to notify us that we can no longer take ACH and we can only use credit cards. No such email was received and they didn't disable the feature until we called to question why our funds haven't been sent. If you are going to use them to accept payments, keep a close eye on your funds as they will try to hold them without notice and features may or may not work depending on how they feel. And to top it off they will NOT give the reason that they took away ACH. We have been in business for over 17 years with a spotless record with D&B and have only once in those 17 years had a chargeback. Avoid this company if you like transparency!

Complete scam

Complete scam. I applied and they told me I had to be approved by one of their partners because I am considered a "high risk business." Fine no problem, I knew this would happen, but this is where it gets shady and criminal.

20 days later, not even a month later, they charged me a "monthly" fee, even though I hadn't been approved. I called them and they told me they would refund me in two weeks, and that they would close my account. Two weeks went by and they never refunded me. A week after that they tried to charge me again!!! They are sending me emails saying that I owe them money, even though I was never approved for their service!!!! This is a scam. Charging me for a service I never used!!!
What saved me was that I went to my bank and the bank employee told me to change my account number because they would try to charge me again. This is a class action lawsuit waiting to happen. Unbelievevable!!!
