I’ve been a BCAA member for 15 years this was the worst experience ever.
I’ve been a BCAA member for 15 years, and this has been by far the worst service experience I’ve had.
A driver incorrectly diagnosed my vehicle as having a failed alternator. Based on the report provided which I also shared with my mechanic I went ahead with the repair. It was later confirmed that the alternator was not the issue, resulting in significant, unnecessary expense.
The situation escalated when my car broke down again. I was quoted a 2-hour wait time but ended up waiting over 3 hours. When I followed up, I was told service may have arrived sooner if I had stayed with the vehicle something that was never communicated to me during the initial call. This miscommunication caused further disruption and added costs, as I had a mechanic waiting and charging by the hour.
This experience involved inaccurate information, poor communication, excessive wait times, and real financial impact.
I would hope BCAA takes accountability for situations like this.

I consistently have fantastic service from BCAA since becoming a member many years ago.I buy my.daughters a membership annually. I rarely need the service but like the security of knowing help is on the way. Today I called for my tenant who upon returning from an extended overseas trip came back to flat tires .The new automated phone service is atrocious. It doesn't pick up.vocal or digital responses ,got the date wrong ...a disaster in my view . Back to the drawing board on that one folks. Once the technician arrived the service was efficient, courteous and excellent as always. Please don't let poor IT destroy such an outstanding service and reputation.
Worst customer service in 30 years
I have had my house Insurance with BCAA for 1.5 years now, I bought a new house in Peachland and I have never experienced such poor and Unsatisfied and Unprofessional service in over 30 years, I would rate this overall company Half a star in there customer service, they should hire people that know how to treat people, all these young kids do not know how to treat people, unqualified young people that want $25.00 / Hr with $1.50 of quality service. The gal's name was Rita she told me that they do NOT call lawyers, Realtors or Home Inspectors, there called me back several times to complain that I was not very nice on the phone not a word about Rita lying and covering there ass no mention of getting me home insurance like there suppose to be doing, they are a insurance firm to help you with Insurance. The manager emails me back and cancel's my Insurance policy Do yourself a great service and boot this company all together. I would never in my lifetime Ever recommend BCAA to anyone, this company should be shut down, they should train people how to treat customers, there customer service is very poor, you get better service at Tim Hortons from illegal immigrants working in the country.

I gave 2 stars because although it’s a good service if you’re looking for coverage for roadside assistance, they lock you into a one year contract that you can’t get out of. I ended up not needing it anymore (didn’t have a car anymore) and I asked if I could transfer my membership to someone else or cancel. They said no I can’t transfer it, and yes of course I could cancel but I’d have to pay out the rest of my years membership upfront. So why would I cancel if I still had to pay for it? Just seems like they are extremely money hungry. They should offer a month to mo tv service.

Received email that my home insurance auto payment could not be processed. I immediately updated my credit information online and made payment. Today, I received registered letter about about same non payment issue. With this letter, I approached BCAA office at Lansdowne Mall and inquired about this issue to the receptions agent Amy. Instead of a simple payment verification via her computer, she elected to waste my time with numerous unrelated questions. Answer could have been provided me within a minute or two rather than waste over 15 minutes of her & my time.

I have membership if BCAA and today my car tire's get flatten and call to the BCAA. They gave me 2 hours waiting period.
It was very rainy and cold day and i was at my work site parking lot.
Then I called to my brother and he hepled and I reached home. After 4 hours BCAA customer service agent called me and told me our driver is near to your location. I cancelled my visit. I feel t ocancel my memebership with them
2 tow truck shows up no towing
Called for roadside assistance on 9am in the morning due to a flat tire. They said it will be around 1 hour and 50 minutes until they get to New Westminster. 2 hours and 20 minutes passed, no calls nor msgs. I called dispatch and they said it will be another hour. 1 hour and 20 minutes past, a tow truck finally shows up. The guy looked at my car and he requested a flat truck to come pick it up. I called dispatch to confirm with the request. Dispatch informed me it will be around 2 more hours to get there. 1 hour and 30minutes past, a same model tow truck shows up, tells me that I need a flat and now I am still waiting for that flat and it's almost 2pm. How can they mess this up so badly???
Incompetent staff
I've been a member for 35 years. Only because it's a gift. I can tell you that that the service is horrific and a suspiciously large volume of employees are completely incompetent. I'm not talking about the tow truck drivers. I've found them to be great.
The staff don't know what they are talking about and no matter what service you want you'll have to wait too long to be poorly served. They should think about starting up an airline. They'd fit right in.

so grateful to jordan who helped me out in abbotsford with a dead battery. i was safe in a parking lot so indicated that with the call so that others who were in more urgent circumstances could get help. but apparently, it wasn't as busy at that time on that day. jordan called me within 20 mins of my call, heading my way. checked the battery, got me a new one installed, & all done within 30 mins. super friendly & just so grateful i have roadside assistance with bcaa. it's so nice to have when you need it.

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. I purchased their emergency roadside service and when I actually was in an emergency because of a flat tire and called for a tow truck, I was led on for 7 hours throughout the day, with little to no communication from their dispatch. It was absolutely appalling. They offered me a credit to remedy the situation but quite frankly, you couldn't pay me to ever use this company again. Don't trust them. Call a tow truck directly if you ever need one.
scam insurance
scam insurance. if you want to go with bcaa, they give you a good quote for the first year, and will increase your insurance a lot without any claim at all. if you moved to other insurance provider and come back after years. they will say you have $79 amount need to pay because you stop having business with them.

I bought a travel insurance for myself, husband and son. Apparently, BCAA claims are handled by a company called Global Excell. It’s a lengthy process for a reason and i like how thorough they are with their investigation process because of the amount of people who want to cheat the system. I was able to reimburse the entire flight and hotel for us. Our home insurance is also with bcaa so this experience gave me a piece of mind of being with them for many years
A knight in shining armour.
On Sept 25th we had a flat tire. We were stuck on hwy 97 in West Kelowna until a BCAA vehicle happened to come along the service road. The driver, Dan, stopped to help us. He changed the tire and gave us directions to a nearby tire store. Dan saved us a lot of time and trouble on the second day of out vacation.
We are so grateful to him.
After being a member for over a decade, BCAA is total FAIL.
I've been a member for over 10 years. In the past, they have done the job when I actually needed a tow, which was rare to begin with. Now, they have apparently undergone a "software upgrade". The result? I am sitting on the side of the road for over 3 hours. The online submission system is broken, telling me that "an error has occurred" when i try to submit my request. When i tried again, the response was "this is a duplicate request". When I phoned my request in, they had no record of the online submission. Some upgrade. They then said it would take up to 2 hours for a truck to arrive. Well here I am, 3.5 hours later, no tow truck. I called in to ask for an update (their automated phone system is absolutely horrible), the first attempt I got "transferred to dispatch", only to have the person disconnect the call (she hung up on me). The second attempt I was told "dispatch isn't busy, there is no queue". and yet I have been stuck on hold for 25 minutes, at 1:30am. It'll be over 4 hours before I even get an actual answer from them, let alone know when I'll get a tow truck. I ultimately had to call my own tow truck. Their upgrade has left them completely useless and a total failure. STAY AWAY. 100% UNRELIABLE. FIND ANOTHER SERVICE.

Charging a repeat customer a charge of $80.00 that zhey had charged me from august 24 to september 19 which was cancelled unbeknown to me that they carried it over also they wrote off but for me to renew i had to pay the chargd this is the last time i deal bcaa ridiculous
