So horrible. We had a claim for our car and it took a month to get sorted out. We were never once able to reach our adjuster so we had to call the customer service line instead and talk to random different adjusters each time. We had to call nearly everyday for the entire month and wait on the line for 40+ mins to get through. They take at least a week to complete a simple task. For example, we asked them to tow our car to a collision centre for repairs. We called each day reminding them until they finally contacted a towing company to do it, an entire week later. They never respond to emails or provide any updates unless you call in.

Pire service ever, beaucoup moins cher qu’ailleurs mais, ça ne vaut pas la peine. Un agent m’a aussi raccroché la ligne au nez! lol

Made a claim with them after someone hit my vehicle. Turns out that they have nothing to do with claims and they farm it out to Zurich. Because Square One customers are not Zurich customers, we are placed at the bottom of the priority list. I've contacted Zurich three times so far with zero response from the adjuster. Submitted an estimate for repairs, no response. Time to shop around for new insurance.

I would say :avoid this hone insurance as you can. They start you eith a low amount and once you're in they increase each year as much as they want, no negotiation.This is a rip-off!

they are theft without integrity. They paid however im still pursuing legal actions against them and their shady CEO. The huge advertising truck, its the first thing ill start. it will cost me 25$ per hour, a salary. within 2 months at part time just a fee evening in the traffic whole montreal will see it. Again same as you, ill make all the verification with my lawyer before starting it and make approve mes designs. however its already been done. We canceled out policy in April. They decided to auto renew it on their own and then take 4 months of premiums. When found out they said “no refunds”. I feel this is pretty common for them a scam they have going. They tell you to cancel by calling, you do it then they ignore what you said and still charge your card. Horrible

My partner and I had a home insurance policy with square one, he was named as the primary and me as secondary. My partner died and I received a renewal email. I called them to cancel the renewal (plenty of notice 2 weeks). They told me only my partner can cancel (he is deceased so impossible!!). They told me that the payment would go to the credit card on file, I asked if it was his or mine, they would not tell me. His credit cards no longer work as he is deceased, they told me they will take the payment and if the payment does not go through then a non-payment of insurance will go against both our names. Then I asked for my name to be removed from the policy, they said only my deceased partner can do this!! They are horrific and underhanded. Multiple avenues of complaint have been filed against this company.

After purchasing a policy and canceling within just one hour, losing 60% of the paid amount feels excessive and unreasonable. A good insurer should prioritize transparency and fairness in financial dealings, but this experience suggests otherwise. Customers deserve policies that offer reasonable refunds for quick cancellations, rather than hidden fees that lead to substantial monetary loss. This incident highlights a lack of customer-centric practices and raises concerns about Square One’s refund policy. Based on this experience, I would rate them 2 stars for poor financial policies and customer support.

Ridiculous service. I had a claim and they were awful to deal with. Do not use them. There is no point in having insurance If they don’t pay and pay on time.

I have two policies with them and this has been going for many years, since 2017 if I remember correctly.
It was only recently that I figured out that paying them for insurance is like taking a chance.
The reason we buy insurance coverage is to remove the element of surprises, but those surprises are exactly what this company will give you.
As long as there's no reason to claim, all is good. The day you have a reason to claim, that department doesn't exist and they will do everything possible to frustrate you, ignoring the fact that you are already in a vulnerable state.

A pain in the neck dealing with them. Too many times they need you to call them even though everything is offered online. But then, you can call for hours, and it tells you to be next in line, but nobody ever picks up. And if you select the callback option, which promises you an agent to call you within 30 minutes, nobody ever will call you.
Then you email with them, or talk to the chatbot that falsely claims to be an agent, until the point when they ask you to call. Isn't it insane? You have them in an email conversation, that works perfectly fine, and they ask you in the middle of it to call them - and the nightmare begins.
Car insurance prices are reasonable, but their customer support is lowest level.

QUÉBEC 17 MARS 2025, depuis deux semaines j'essayais d'avoir une police d'assurance habitation. Mais cette compagnie m'a fait perdre mon temps . Ils ont exigé d'abord que j'installe un pare-vapeur dans la partie du vide sanitaire et de leur envoyé une photo, J'ai demandé à l'agent si il fallait que ce soit fait par un professionnel, réponse; non ce n'est pas nécessaire . Ensuite ils ont demandé que je tape le plastique au poteau et d'envoyer une photo afin que le plastique ne puisse pas ce déplacé . J'ai alors ajouté un 2e plastique et tapé le plastique et les poteaux et envoyé les photos. MAIS ce n'était pas encore suffisant . À CHAQUE FOIS C'ÉTAIT APPROUVÉ PAR DES PERSONNES DIFFÉRENTS QUI SE CONTREDISAIT. MAIS L'agent au téléphone me confirmait toujours qu'il n'était pas exigé que ce soit fait par un professionnel mais seulement mettre du tape et c'est correct. FINALEMENT j'ai du rappeler pour avoir la réponse d'une autre personne et MAINTENAT ON EXIGAIT QUE CE SOIT FAIT PAR UN PROFESSIONNEL. Après les commentaires que j'ai lu sur Trustpilot je comprends mieux ce qui m'est arrivé. Contente de ne pas avoir fait affaire avec eu ......j'imagine si j'aurais eu besoin d'une réclamation du service que j'aurais reçu ... quel manque de professionnaliste , aucune communication entre le personnels. BREF LEURS SERVICES NE C'EST TOUJOURS PAS AMÉLIORÉ AU 17 MARS 2025. Non merci à square one pour leurs excuses. j'ai une toile approprié dans mon vide sanitaire accepté par vos concurrents. Donc je ne crois pas vos excuses bidons et je ne croie pas non plus que vous allez remédier à la situation puisque les clients ce plaignent de vos services depuis plusieurs années !!!!

Finally, after blocking my reviews from google and bbb hopefully this will not be blocked here avoid this 2 garbage companies at all cost..Zurich insurance and square one insurance don’t bother reviewing them on their website they only post 5 star FAKE ratings you don’t even deserve a star and a rating, if you’re reading this please don’t think twice and find a better insurance company save yourself from a horrific experience I had on New Year’s Eve 2024…

If you’re reading this review PLEASE do me a favor and AVOID this company together with ZURICH insurance at ALL COSTS the reviews here with 5 stars are either FAKE or was PAID to do a good review this COMPANY is TOO GOOD to be TRUE yes they can have the lowest quotes possible but AT WHAT COST? Claiming to have a SMOOTH and FAST claiming process but CANT EVEN CREATE a FILE CLAIM. December 31 2024 my windshield was cracked from highway debris while going to work around noon I phone square one and gave me a reference number and was told that an “adjuster will call me back” …bring the car to an auto glass shop because of the damage if I continue to drive it might crack further, then when the work was done and thought that the auto glass was contacted I found out that the insurance didn’t phone back and I have to pay it out of my pocket because NO ONE phone me back it’s New Year’s Eve and they won’t release the car unless it’s paid so I don’t have a choice but to pay it it’s frustrating that I feel helpless and look like an idiot waiting for a call and when I call back NO ONE can even address my issue I wa passed along to different agents and GUESS WHAT i find this LEVEL of STUPIDITY at it’s HIGHEST when I just found out today January 2 2024 THAT the CLAIM WASNT EVEN CREATED my GOD! I’ve wasted my time explaining what happen and waited for NOTHING! It RUINED my NEW YEAR EVE and NEW YEAR DAY plans! This is such a DISAPPOINTMENT coming from a Company that has a lot of POSITIVE reviews they’re only good to you when they have you as a customer but when it’s a matter of life and death or other unpleasant events YOU CANT COUNT on this COMPANY.
