Omg this was a life changer. I emailed them the medical evidence, they contacted me back with a treatment hospital, I was booked in and operation completed. I can’t recommend them enough

Poor environmental policy
I'm amazed that this company still insists on me (age 80) still driving 100miles to Benenden Hospital for 4 hours (that's there and back) to benefit from their health policy when I have a perfectly good hospital just one mile away which they could refer me to. The hospital is fine and the services good but where is the care for the environment and my personal well-being?

Thank you for responding so promptly. I had no problem with the hospital (except that there was nowhere to park when I arrived). I'm sure it is superb as the CQC rating indicates. My issue is just the lack of choice. I understood from the call handler that my postcode meant I had to come to Benenden and they had no discretion to allow me to use the local Spire hospital (I think they are part of your partner network?). I see no point in contacting you further as it appears your policy is fixed and because I live within a supposed 2 hour radius of your hospital I must drive there regardless of the environmental or personal consequences. If you review this policy, and allow some discretion, that would be excellent. I hope to hear that will happen. Kind regards

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. We’re really sorry to hear this has been a frustrating experience for you, particularly given the distance you’ve needed to travel and the impact this can have on both your wellbeing and the environment.
We understand why travelling 100 miles for an appointment can feel unreasonable, especially when there is a hospital much closer to home. Benenden Hospital is our flagship hospital and is CQC rated Outstanding, which is why members who live within around a two hour drive time are usually asked to have their diagnostics or surgical treatment there. While we also work with a network of connected hospitals, unfortunately not all local hospitals are part of this network, and we aren’t always able to refer to a member’s nearest option.
The wellbeing of our members is very important to us, and we also recognise the importance of reducing environmental impact wherever we can. Your feedback on this has been noted and is appreciated, as it helps inform how we continue to review our services and policies.

Well worth every penny you pay for membership

Initial enquiry was quickly answered. Easy to follow instructions on how to interact with the medical teams. Result was I didn't need to worry about the finance at all as it was all done by Benendon.

Very good service from Beneden for my recent Hernia operation. Having been given a long waiting time for the NHS, my wife being a member we contacted them and was given details of the hospital’s used and the consultant’s available. I chose Mr Hou at Nuffield Hospital Chandlers Ford, made an appointment with his secretary for a consultation. After the consultation Mr Hou agreed to do the operation, and I contacted Berenden who agreed to pay for it. I got a cancelled operation date, so the operation was completed a week later and I was home on the same day. Very good service from Nuffield Hospital after the operation. I saw Mr Hou 6 weeks later to check all was well, and it was

Fantastic service
Fantastic service, very reasonably priced. Following referral from my GP Benenden organised a private scan which was promptly carried out and results very quickly followed. Would highly recommended this service.

Benenden are wonderful
Benenden have been wonderful with their response towards treatments for me. I have been with them for a number of years now, and the comfort of knowing that they are always on the end of the line is very reassuring.
They have organised my cataract surgery - and latest a cholecystectomy with Mr Wajed at Exeter Nuffield, who is an excellent surgeon in my opinion.
They are easy to contact - very pleasant staff, and the whole process I find very easy to follow. I would highly recommend Benenden health - and I have to many friends and family.
