Missing mounting brackets for sconce
Ordered three beautiful copper wall sconces for a total $1,165.32. They did not come with mounting brackets to allow for mounting to the electrical box in the wall. We emailed several times hoping to receive the necessary brackets as the sconces were beautiful. They were unable to provide the brackets. This made the sconces impossible to mount and therefore unusable (all verified by my electrician). We asked for a refund:
Our cost to ship back was $100.00 USPS
20% Restocking fee: $233.06
Original outbound shipping cost: $240
Refund total: $692.26
It does not seem right that I am paying so much for a product that did not come with mounting brackets and unusable.
Feedback to BohemiaMarrakech:
Please provide mounting brackets with the wall sconces to allow for proper attachment to the wall.

Dear Angel,
Thank you for your feedback and your kind words about our copper sconces. We’re sorry the installation experience was frustrating.
We would like to clarify that your sconces were shipped complete, with all components included. We understand that your electrician reported difficulty mounting them to your electrical boxes, and we would welcome the opportunity to review the installation photos and identify the specific compatibility issue.
We also understand your concerns about the refund deductions and are available to explain the breakdown directly. Please contact us through our existing email conversation so we can address any remaining questions.
Kind regards,
Bohemia Marrakech

Thank you so much for your kind words, Sally 🤍
We’re truly happy to hear that you love your rug and that it has held up beautifully over time. Every piece we create is made knot by knot by Berber women artisans here in Morocco, using traditional techniques passed down for generations — so your feedback really means a lot to us.
Behind Bohemia Marrakech, there is a real story: I started this journey in Marrakech back in 2012, working directly with local artisans. Today, we collaborate with over 300 women across different cooperatives, helping them support their families and preserve their craft.
Your support is not just a purchase — it directly helps these artisans continue their work and build a better future 🤍
Thank you again for your trust, and we look forward to serving you again!
Warm regards,
Bohemia Marrakech
It's beautiful and handmade
It's beautiful and handmade. Has a very rustic look, great in a family room. The colored lines are just paint/drawn though, I thought they would embroidery from the Etsy pictures.

Thank you so much, Frederic, for your honest feedback 🤍
We’re really glad you love the rug and its handmade, rustic character — that’s exactly the spirit of authentic Moroccan craftsmanship.
Regarding the colored lines, we truly appreciate your comment. Each rug is handmade using traditional techniques, and depending on the design, some details can be woven, shaved, or hand-finished to achieve a specific artistic look. We understand how this might appear different from expectations, and your feedback helps us improve how we present these details more clearly in our listings.
Our mission is very close to our hearts — we work directly with Berber women artisans in Morocco, supporting over 300 artisans and their families. Every rug you receive is a reflection of their skill, culture, and dedication.
Thank you again for your support and for helping us grow 🙏
Warm regards,
Bohemia Marrakech
If I could give this zero stars I would.
***I had to reupload this review as the company solicited an update under the guise of a full refund to say the matter was resolved and responded to my review dishonestly. They lied. There was no refund processed. They claimed "proof of refund" would not be given unless I took my review down even though I never agreed to anything conditional, and now I'm filing a chargeback with my payment provider. Do not shop here. And be mindful of the incessant 5 star reviews.***
Requested a cancelation weeks before shipment. Told them I was moving due to issues and no longer needed the rug, as new space was too small and already had carpet. Was told it couldn't be canceled as production already began, confusing as production time was advertised to be 6 or more weeks. Website does not detail a cancelation policy, but I do not know why my request was not honored. Moved addresses, company shipped rug to the wrong address ANYWAY. I immediately contacted them to return it to sender, they said they would then said it wasn't possible, asked for my updated address to reroute it. Package arrived and I communicated I wanted nothing to do with the rug and to return it, this is after multiple back and forth emails. I was told it could not be returned or refunded. At this point I'm livid, they change their mind then say it can be returned but I am responsible for the million dollar return cost for the rug they forced upon me. Insane. Can't even comment on quality. A chargeback will be filed immediately. Don't waste your time. Listen to the reviews. Do not expect your money back. Look elsewhere.
*Edit: I also saw in a past response to an unhappy review that someone was given a mock up and they supposedly "approved the rug before dispatch". So why was I put into this position? It certainly was not approved by me and they knew that. Don't ever do that to your customers Bohemia Marrakech.
**Update: As of March 18, 2025, one hour after this review went live, I received the following:

I would like to reiterate that the rug remains unused and available for return, but I cannot justify the cost of international shipping given that I had requested cancellation prior to shipment. This review is 100% accurate and fully documented through email communications. No further remedy has been offered. I will not be intimidated. May this be useful.

Support these Moroccan women!
The customer service is phenomenal. Super prompt and attentive to my custom order. The rug was incredibly affordable considering it takes weeks to be made by hand. The rug arrived quickly and safely with tracking info and good packaging. I just love how improvisational and unique it is! Strongly recommend this company.
