My Review of Book Bolt

I subscribe to only a few key platforms that support my writing and publishing goals, and Book Bolt remains one of them. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to create beautiful, well-crafted books. The templates interface seamlessly with Amazon KDP, making the publishing process smooth and efficient.

If you are into self-publishing, then you need Bookbolt, and not just for the software, but also for the support and community.

I’ve been using bookbolt for a number of years and could not be without it. It makes book designing simple, quick and easy. There are so many features to help you on your journey and the regular support groups are awesome too. I definitely recommend looking back over the videos to get the most out of what bookbolt can do for you.

This program was very easy to use. It insured everything was set up so that my publishing in KDP went right through. both activity books and story books worked well.

It’s a scam site. Don’t purchase anything

After promoting bookbolt affiliate link, they block me after i reach the limit to withdraw. I have more that $509 and i have no access anymore. I contacted them and what they did was to created another affiliate account with my previous details and my account now is $0. This is a scam

It is so bad! I started my free trial but i don't know why the hell you charged me 29 $. I need refund anyhow.

Bad Bad Bad! I have been trying to download a word search book for 10 hours now and the pages are just on the side spinning. And when I try and download it's processing 2 page an hour. I just stopped to see if there was anything I could do. There is nothing!

Your process is purely predatory. You push only the free trial without clearly referencing the terms of service, and on top of that, you directly charge the Pro version at $19.90 instead of the standard $9.99. This is a blatant scam, and your Trustpilot score speaks for itself. Hard to deny the truth.

Companies like yours deserve to be exposed, and I will make sure to share my experience in every KDP social media group. Shady practices have limits, and I’ll do everything I can to make sure as many people as possible are warned.

I canceled my free trial, yet they still charged me $19.99 for the Pro plan instead of the Basic, without my consent. Their service was glitchy and frustrating, so I had no intention of continuing after the trial. When I contacted support, a rude agent flat-out refused to refund me, despite my clear explanation. Book Bolt is a scam. Thieves, unprofessional, and completely disrespectful. Stay far away!

Your statement regarding cancelling the subscription is NOT TRUE.

You have replied with an automatic response saying indeed to cancel the subscription, to not get billed AGAIN.

You haven't addressed in any way the fact that you have sneakily started to bill for the HIGHEST plan without notice.

Convinced by youtubers heavily promoting Bookbolt to subscribe but it really isn't a very good APP and the whole book creating thing on KDP is a scam where you will go to great lengths to create something to find you are dealing with an oversaturated market with not many buyers. BookBolt would be aware of this yet happily keep pushing their very limited product.
Don't listen to those YT affiliates pushing this AND 'amazon kdp', it is all just a money making scam where the only one who misses out is the actual book creator.
The one customer service experience (via email) with this company was unimpressive and a touch rude in tone.

I only started writing reviews on Trustpilot recently and decided to review my favorite software platforms for KDP.
I looked up BookBolt and was very surprised to see all the bad reviews!

So first, I just want to state that I'm a verified user of Trustpilot and that this is my genuine review of BookBolt.

I joined BookBolt in April 2024 after seeing a video on YouTube by a highly successful Amazon KDP entrepreneur who reviewed their site.
I knew I wanted to try creating books on KDP, and BookBolt seemed like a good option to try since I had limited funds. There was a free signup period where I could test the software for one week.

So I signed up and watched Neil’s (from BookBolt) training video on how to create a low-content book using BookBolt—all the way through the process of uploading it to Amazon to be published.
I found the software easy to use from the training video, created a music manuscript paper book, signed up for Amazon KDP, and uploaded my book for review with Amazon (which was published after they reviewed it).

Being able to successfully create a book (when I had no idea how to do it myself) made me so happy with the training video and the software that I decided to join the monthly membership. I got an offer to pay a one-time fee for a lifetime membership, which—despite being on a very tight budget—I decided to take up because I knew I wanted to keep working on creating books, and I expected it would take me some time to learn properly.

My Review:
I’m so glad I did. The lifetime membership deal is fantastic—I never have to pay a monthly fee for it! (Even as a monthly subscription, I think it’s worth it.)

Why I Love BookBolt:
✅ The software and training allowed me to start building a business selling books on Amazon KDP.
✅ There is a huge amount of training that is easy to follow, extremely well presented, and taught in a casual, relaxed approach—which is how I learned to create books.
✅ Neil is a fantastic educator—he hosts a Live Monthly Call, which you can always watch later, where you can ask questions (beforehand or live during the call), and he will go through and answer anything people are struggling with.
✅ They have a Facebook group for members, which also has fantastic support (led by Mark) and an active community of 8.7k members.

The BookBolt software is very user-friendly. You need to spend a little time learning it, and for me, that also meant learning basic design skills—but I picked up everything just by following the training videos.

I’ve also emailed support (just to say hello and thanks) and have received friendly replies from them.

So, I don’t know why on earth there are so many bad reviews about BookBolt on Trustpilot, but as a genuine user who has built a decent income over the past 10 months on Amazon KDP, my review is aimed at anyone serious about publishing on Amazon KDP and considering BookBolt.

💡 Absolutely go for it! Sign up for the free trial, create something right away, and you’ll see that you can create a notebook in one evening.

Then, if you want to publish on Amazon, it’s just a great piece of software to have access to.

I now use other design platforms for creating covers and interiors, but I still upload them to BookBolt to generate the final cover/interior/full book file to publish on KDP—and I expect I always will.

I bet the people who left 1-star reviews on here aren’t earning an income from KDP. But I am—and BookBolt is a huge reason why.

I wouldn’t be where I am today on my Amazon KDP journey if it weren’t for BookBolt.

I cancelled my free trial and was still charged twice. I reached out to support right away, and a very rude support agent told me I wasn’t getting a refund. I explained, I used the service for the trial period, and nothing more, as it was glitchy and hard to maneuver, and she still didn’t budge. So, I dispute with my card holder, and they’re trying to fight the charge. Completely absurd! As I did not use $40 worth of service. I will never use or recommend Book Bolt to anyone. They’re thieves, unprofessional, and extremely rude.

I had a very disappointing experience with BookBolt. I spent five full days creating a book on their platform, only to find that I couldn’t download it unless I paid for a subscription.

After paying $20, I expected to access my work, but my book was completely gone. When I contacted customer support, they repeatedly blamed me instead of helping me retrieve my project. Eventually, they refunded my $20 and closed my account, but they refused to acknowledge the time and effort I lost.

I am an international student, and I was relying on this project as a potential source of income. Losing my work due to their poor system and lack of proper customer support was frustrating and unfair.

I do not recommend BookBolt if you are serious about your work. If you do use it, be careful—always back up your projects externally, because if anything goes wrong, their support will not help you.

This is quite the scam they have going on they give it's links to put up videos and then those affiliates say that you can use the monthly subscription and you can publish a book on the Amazon KDP Amazon publishing and you can spend hours
working on it and then one of the very last steps it stops you in your
tracks and in order for you to
continue you have to upgrade to the
pro version there's no customer
service there's no telephone number there's no way to contact anybody which I realize is my bad I should have checked all that before I bought the subscription but I look at it like this they only got me once
Trustpilot sent me an email asking me for more information because book bolt wants to know more about my experience which I tried to send and I got an email back that said this email address has not been found your message was not sent so I'm going to add it to this review once again let me say I watched a video on YouTube of a man who is a representative or who represents and is given links from book bolt to advertise on YouTube who claims that if you follow their step by step directions you can publish a book on Amazon they just give you the steps on how to do it but the very last step doesn't allow you to finish your publishing it requires you to upgrade. So you can go through that whole thing which takes hours to do and then the very last step you have to upgrade your account to a premium account which of course cost more so now not only you out the original account money they want you to buy a whole new package to finish publishing your book. And I definitely felt like they get you that far into the process when you're thinking I'm almost done then you're not and I'll bet a lot of people think man I didn't come this far for nothing and go ahead and upgrade to the premium account but I didn't do that because I thought it was deceitful I don't know how much more I can add than that. Except to say book bolt has no phone number no way to contact anybody and this was my only way to be able to say something or to warn other people maybe you're the type of person that will go ahead and upgrade but I'm not that's not what I was sold that's not what I bought and I thought it was deceitful and then that to be able to contact anybody was really over the top.

I tried it with an activity book idea and found that the tools here are very low quality. The free stuff out there is just as good. They just have good marketing I suppose is why I got suckered into it. Kind of a scam.

Book bolt should be shut down. Fraudlently billing after I cancelled a trial. They have been billing me for MONTHS! They never give out cancellation confirmation emails or anything. They refuse to refund. They have to resort to scammy tactics otherwise they don't make money. They make me sick. If they have ripped you off, file complaints with BBB etc and Go through your bank and file dispute.

There needs to be a class action lawsuit against them. Contact me once there is one.

I signed up with Bookbolt with their 3-day free trial and monthly plan of $9.99 afterward. But to my surprise, after 3 days I got an email. My credit card had been charged @27.40 from Bookbolt. I tried to reach out to their so-called 24/7 customer support, but there was no one available, except an automated chatbot that was repeatedly asking me to repeat what I said. As if someone was mocking their customers by pushing that automated chatbot forward to deal with our misery after performing their fraudulent transactions. I reported it to my credit card department to ask for a refund and start an investigation against them.

Bookbolt is the best most affordable design software. It is easy to use. I have never had any technical issues and I find their customer service, ( i had only one question ever) very good.

I pay the monthly pro subscription. It suits my financial circumstances perfectly at the moment. I have created lined notebooks and a puzzle book. Both were very easy to create with Bookbolt.
The puzzle software I used, Sudoku, was perfect and I published my book and even made a few sales!
I have been with bookbolt for over 1 year now and I'm very happy with this amazing service.
