BEWARE of Bookbolt

BEWARE of Bookbolt! I signed up for the lowest subscription in April, 2024 just to try it out for a month or two, and they charged me $197 for a lifetime subscription!! On top of that, they refuse to refund! I would be happy to pay the monthly charge alone (it's been two months now) but they refuse. The reason I don't want this service is that Bookbolt has the worst management, worst IT, and worst customer service of any online app I've ever used! KDP publishers all over youtube are pushing Bookbolt. DON'T FALL for it!

Puzzle software is faulty

Let me warn other people here not to use Bookbolt’s puzzle software. I had almost finished a variety puzzle book with sudoku, minefinders and other logic puzzles. I had a cover design made. Just before finishing the project I thought to give the puzzles to some friends, one of whom has a mathematics degree. Turns out the (medium level) sudokus were unsolvable. This means that at the end a pair of numbers would remain that were both possible to fill in. There was no final solution, as is required for sudoku puzzles. The same was true for the minefinders. There were too little clues to solve these! In short, I canned my puzzle book project and also the Bookbolt subscription. Shame on them.

Even with these changes, our Sudoku puzzles have remained solvable and continue to provide valid, unique solutions (This is why you are able to generate the solutions themselves in the Book Bolt Studio).

Regarding our Minefinder puzzles, they are designed to require both the placement of numbers and additional mines in specific areas where the clues logically point—this is part of the puzzle’s challenge. When used correctly, Minefinder also yields a consistent and complete solution.

In looking through our records and the information you shared, we could not find any evidence of an account linked to your email, nor do we have a support ticket on file under that email address.

Unhelpful Help Desk & Need More Transparency for its Non-Refundable Policies

I regret not researching Book Bolt before getting involved with them. Reviews on Trust Pilot and the Better Business Bureau in California would have made me steer clear of this company.

I do want Book Bolt to know that I bought their product in good faith, expecting good service, and to be treated as a valued customer. Sadly, that was not the case, especially with their help desk.

To sum it up, I bought a Lifetime Subscription, which I tried to cancel two days later. I had trouble logging in from the start and couldn't access the services I paid for. I didn't receive any timely assistance from their help desk team for my urgent login issues or my refund request.

I found out on my own that the subscription was non-refundable, which was only mentioned in fine print on the back of the invoice, not on the front or on the website next to the pricing plan.

What's worse, when I asked for a refund, the help desk team didn't even tell me about the non-refundable policy of the plan I bought.

Despite the login problems and being unaware of the non-refundable policy, the help desk team should have communicated quickly and clearly about the refund denial and worked on fixing my login issues. Instead, they took 8 days to respond to my initial help request and accused me of making a false chargeback claim in their last email.

While I will not be using their services, and that's money that I cannot get back, I do hope that Book Bolt will improve its communication and customer service and provide more transparency on its non-refundable policies in the future.

Worst Service ever

Ensure you don't put your card details on Bookbolt because they will take money from your account even when you cancel your subscription. It happened the first time; they refused to refund me and then tried again to collect money from my account after cancelling my subscription.

J'ai résilié mon compte et continue…

J'ai résilié mon compte et continue d'être prélevé.
J'ai contacté le 15 aout les services de bookbolt et ils m'ont répondu que j'avais un autre compte.
Après leur avoir répondu que quoi qu'il arrive je souhaitais arrêter les prélèvements et fermer tous les comptes possibles. Il ont laissé pourrir la situation...
Après avoir encaissé septembre/octobre et novembre, ils ont enfin trouvé une solution pour clore les comptes. Mais ne me remboursent pas les 3 mois ! une honte ! Déjà que leur service client répond 1 fois par semaine, ce service est une arnaque !!! à fuir

Bookbolt is a scam. They will charge u for pro even if u don't want to continue the subscriptionm they don't send any notification and customer service is really rude. I give them -100 stars rather they don't deserve any stars.

What a pee poor service you provide. I'm EXTREMELY sorry I ever thought that during the pandemic when I needed a source of income desperately that this company was a good choice. WOW, what a mistake this was.
I can't cancel because the BB website is the epitome of non service and extreme difficultty to navigate. You keep charging me for a "FREEE TRIAL" that can't be cancelled at the end of the "FREEE TRIAL"!
Most people probably wouldn't care if they were to catch the $9.99 FREEEE TRIAL" fee and gladly pay you just to be able to cancel and put BOOK BOLT in the rear view mirror for good.
As I said, FIRST IN LINE!!

It's a huge scam.
Their promise that selling no-content books will make you rich is a non-sense. No-content and low-content are the MOST competitive niches on Amazon, basically you have zero chance to sell even one book per month even with decent marketing.
Anyway they only spending their money on Google and Facebook ads to attract greedy people who want to be rich without writing a line.

Worst customer service

Worst customer service, it's like talking to scripted machines that only know their FAQ links. They only take credit cards so you have to recourse to reverse payments easily. They do not refund for their errors, and they charge you for service you don't ask for, or change your subscription at the click of a button.

They are NOT updating, NOR upgrading their lack luster system. There are a thousand popup boxes that never reload or save location. You have to hit enter to make any changes, then okay cancel to close the box.

They can't answer simply questions about their own service, NOR know how it works in conjunction with Amazon, THE LARGEST PUBLISHER ON EARTH.

Their marketing tools are completely USELESS, the tutorials are just overviews that expect you to figure it out.

NOTHING IS PERFECT, EVERYTHING IS JUST BRONZE LEVEL, SECOND TIER, COULD AND SHOULD BE BETTER BUT THEY DON'T OR MOST LIKELY CAN'T MAKE IT BETTER. So they spend their time milking the system they have.

Do the math, the average royalty on Amazon is $2, YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE AT LEAST 10 SALES PER MONTH TO COVER JUST THE COST OF BOOKBOLT. BUSINESS WISE THAT DOESN'T ADD UP FOR THE LEVEL OF SERVICE RECEIVED. SORRY BOOKBOLT, BUT YOU DON'T DESERVE 10 SALES PER MONTH FOR LIFE FOR THE SERVICE YOU OFFER.

Un gran engaño

Un gran engaño . Metes datos de la tarjeta y te aparece mensaje que no te van a cobrar hasta día cuatro , que primeros 3 días gratis . He elegido un plan mensual de 9,99 . Y de esto nada . Me cobraron en primer día 8 $ ( tenía un promocod de 20 % ) en tercer día 16 $ más en cuarto 13 $ más. Estoy flipando . No hay atención al cliente . He escrito al soporte , ni contestaron . La página está echa de tal manera que no hay ningún media de comunicación. Un robo en toda regla. Hay que ser justa . Contenido de verdad es muy bonito y fácil de usar . Pero por este dinero no contrataría, porque hay alternativas gratuitas .

Book Bolt... You are an excellent Service!

I think Book Bolt is an excellent book, puzzle and maze-creating service. I came across it after watching a YT video and managed to Self Publish a second book, 'Valentine's Poems'

On Amazon; Search; Anikka Forbes

It was straightforward, with so many options to choose from, you get to join weekly webinars with the owner, and I love it! From now on, I will use it to create all books, which is great for uploading to KDP.

They are so keen for the customer to be happy, and if you are struggling with payments, they will even offer you a discount if you decide to cancel your subscription, which is rare. I recommend them!

Do not try their free trial!

Do not try their free trial - I never used this service and keep getting charged. This company makes getting into your account and cancelling your subscription as hard as possible. There is no phone number or email for customer service, and you can only file a technical support issue. The FAQs are useless and are about 1 vague sentence long. After 3 days of a free trial, they just keep charging you. I finally had AMEX block them as a merchant today. Their last charge is still pending and may go through.

Tienes que meter la visa para tener los 3 días gratis que luego si o si te la cobra y aprovechandose de que les has dado la visa te hace recargo por otros servicios que nadie sabe lo que son . Luego tú pagas por un mes pero ellos se toman la justicia x su mano y te cobran siempre y no puedes reclamar luego.patece facil.la plataforma pero no te explican nada. Y luego te lo venden como un negocio.en amazon pero de negocio nada pagas 0.31 en clics ADS y tiene una regalía 0.26...
