Run from them
Run! They are scam!
You sign after you are in trouble with high fees and they blocked you and never answer the phone.
I think its time for all of us to go to the police and open an investigation about them being scammers.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Absolutely appalling company to deal with. Pushy, dishonest and no help at all when things are not going their way. We were pushed and rushed into a contract with them at 7.20am in the morning and when we then tried to cancel the agreement - on sufficient grounds to do so - we were lied to and given false information. We contacted the Supplier of the Utility company ourselves who constantly told us to contact BRS direct, which we did and again they were useless. My advice is do not deal with this company if you want a stress free life - as the stress and anxiety they caused us was off the richter scale. Thankfully the Energy company finally agreed with our many emails asking to cancel the contract and have done so from their end.
Avoid - Scam
This company rushed me into signing up for stuff without a proper explanation of who they are.
Extremely unprofessional and lie about what your current energy price is
Misleading service
Misleading service – no accountability and devastating impact on our business
We are extremely disappointed with our experience with Business Reduction Services.
We were led to believe that our energy costs would be around £250 per month for both gas and electricity (which should be evidenced in recorded sales calls). Instead, we have been charged in the region of £1,500 per month — an unsustainable increase that has ultimately forced us to close our business, The House of Calm Ltd.
We were never provided with a signed contract, written agreement, or clear terms outlining the duration, rates, or exit fees. We were also not made aware of the true financial implications of what we were being signed into. This raises serious concerns about transparency and whether this agreement was mis-sold.
Since discovering the situation, we have attempted to contact Business Reduction Services directly to resolve this matter. Despite formal communication, we have received no response whatsoever. The complete lack of accountability and communication is unacceptable, especially given the severe financial consequences this has had on our business.
We are now in the process of escalating this matter to Trading Standards and the Energy Ombudsman, and are prepared to take further action if necessary.
We would strongly urge other businesses to exercise extreme caution when dealing with this company.
Absolutely disgusting
Absolutely disgusting! I was pressured into signing a contract they were very misleading and said they give the best price. I am a first time business owner and scammed. Don’t use them at any cost. Go straight with the providers rather than brokers
If I could give this company a 0 I…
If I could give this company a 0 I would
Had a conversation with Jamie at the end of the conversation he said there was no cooling down period .. at this point
I told him i was going to speak to the energy provider direct he was rude and aggressive and the phone down
Since I’ve been getting bills from the said energy provider and it seems he put through the contract even though I asked him not to …( he cut the conversation off at the point I told him not to ) THIS IS FRAUD !!!
I’ve since put a compliant through and heard nothing back … absolutely disgusting company
Please can any one help
Please can any one help! Looks like i have had a similar experience to a lot of others (wish i'd looked on here first). I got suckered in by 'Jamie' from BRS. I though he said he was from British Gas. He seemed to know a lot about my new business, where i was what the deals were etc. Before i knew it he was reading me Ts & Cs! He said it was recording and asked if i understood what he'd said. I said yes, then asked what the cooling off period was. When he said there wasn't one, i told him to stop. Said i wanted to do my own research first. Took his number and said i'd call him back. However, his number didn't work (0208 619 9432). Now Valda energy have sent me emails saying I having signed into a contract with them for 2 years, they have a recording saying I'd agreed - which conveniently cuts off before I ask Jamie not to go ahead. Valda energy say I have to take it up with BRS, but i can't get hold of anyone. No emails or phone numbers seem to work. British gas keep getting requests to say another company is taking over my account. So far they have annulled them. But the new contract with valda is due to start in 2 days and i don't know what else to do. The Ombudsman on the BRS website say they can't help until 12 weeks has passed. If anyone has any advice, please share!!!
If I could give zero stars I would...
If I could give zero stars I would. Terrible company. Tell lies to get you to sign up. Don't give you all the information and then shirk responsibility when there is an issue! Now have 2 utility companies claiming they are supplying me with gas and both want paying. It's a nightmare which began when I picked the phone up to this company!
Scam company number online doesnt…

Scam company number online doesnt exist and cannot speak with anyone their reviews speak for themselves stay away
Please please do not use these people
Please, please do not use this broker. They are very misleading on calls. They do record calls but only the bits they want to (not all the call). The phone number on their website is not valid. Just a terrible experience.
SCAMERS
Be careful they call early morning, and they will try manipulate to you into signing the contract.
Disappointing. Were it possible to award minus stars, we would
My son and I have recently set up a food manufacturing business. I have provided finance and my wife and I are majority shareholders. My son is the Managing Director.
It's a complex business with three different product lines and lots of moving parts. Probably not the ideal start-up business but we like a challenge!
Like any start-up, getting it off the ground has been a painful experience. We have been delayed two months and are well over budget. We've had problems with lots of suppliers so my son has a lot going on. He'd taken a couple of days off. 7.30, Friday morning, after a night out with some friends, and my son gets a telephone call. His head really wasn't in the game.
Obviously, I wasn't on the call but, having spoken to my son and his partner, their story is consistent - both felt that my son was speaking to an engineer who'd been called to our industrial unit to resolve an issue with the power supply. During the course of the call, my son was told we were on an "emergency" tariff that was going to cost us thousands.
We're already thousands over budget so my son panicked and thought he'd dropped the ball by forgetting to negotiate an electric supply contract. He was suckered into the rest of the call which ended up with him signing a contract for electricity with Yorkshire Gas and Power (YGP).
Our industrial unit, in fact, has no electrical meter. The landlord has a central meter for the estate and he bills each tenant a proportion of the costs. It's all in the lease but my son, by his own admission, didn't have his head in the game and forgot this.
Business Reduction Services (NW) Ltd., were behind the call. At no point had we asked them to call or appointed them to act on our behalf [unless you count blindsiding him on the call as consent.]
As far as I am concerned, therefore, Business Reduction Services (NW) Ltd., are agents of YGP and it's YGP's responsibility to police the way they do business [YGP disagrees with me on this and has closed our complaint. They've been told to re-open it again. I'm sure they'll attempt to close it again at which point I'll be writing to every member of YGP's board and to OFGEM]
We have contacted OFGEM and Citizens Advice. They have pointed us in the direction of The Misrepresentation Act 1967 and a letter template on the Citizen's Advice website which we have used.
My son has also tried to complain to Business Reduction Services but, in more than 30 attempts to get through to them, not once has the 'phone been picked up. We've emailed a copy of a complaint letter to them today and we'll be sending it recorded delivery to their registered address later today.
As the Meerkats say: "It's simples" I'm not paying a bean to YGP nor am I paying a penny in commission to Business Reduction Services (NW) Ltd.
YGP need to get their house in order and ensure that the so called independent contractors who have authority to cold-call on their behalf and bind people into contracts are properly managed and policed.
Edit 1st Dec: YGP have, apparently, reviewed the call recording and can find no evidence of mis-selling.
Edit 18th December: YGP has provided us with the voice recordings which have been transcribed and now make "interesting" reading. I know exactly what was said, and when, and I am confident that I can prove that BRS never was our agent. They even said so on the call!
Edit 21st December: 6 reviewers (including ourselves) name both BRS & YGP. An additional review on YGP's website also names both. This is information I have provided in a letter to the Energy Secretary. Knowing both is helpful in assessing, and tackling, the root cause of the problem. If you come to do a new review, and are a microbusiness that has had problems, please try to include both as I will come back here and continue to pick the information up.
Edit 30th December. After some protracted discussions with YGP they have agreed we can cancel the contract, providing we pay what we owe up to the date the new supplier takes over. We'll probably accept some variation of this proposal. However, I think the BRS team need to understand that one of the conditions will be that we're not waiving our rights of action against BRS!
Mis-sold Contract and Now Ignoring Me
Mis-sold Contract and Now Ignoring Me
I was cold-called by Business Reduction Services at 08:10 in the morning on my business landline—a number I had never used before and didn’t even know existed. The agent did not make it clear she was a third-party broker. The phone line was terrible, and I repeatedly said I could not hear properly and was not able to make decisions at that moment. Instead of offering to call back, she kept saying “no worries, just 10 more seconds,” and pushed me into something I did not knowingly agree to.
I already have an energy contract arranged with another supplier, yet they still proceeded to set up a new one. This is completely unacceptable.
I tried to contact them afterwards—their number 01772 973186 now comes up as incorrect and cannot be reached. I have sent multiple emails and have been ignored every time.
This experience feels dishonest, unprofessional, and misleading. I am now having to fight to stop an unwanted transfer and request call recordings through GDPR.
I would strongly advise other small business owners to be extremely cautious. I would never recommend this company based on my experience.
There is karma for people like you
Transparent
Transparent, professional and very easy to communicate with .
Thank you again Michelle.
All 6 businesses done through them.
Never had a single problem
Thank you .
Great service 👍
DO NOT engage with this company
DO NOT engage with this company . They are misleading and you will get into a legal battle . Cold calling , high pressure , no transparency , misrepresenting who they are. Highly stressful situation . Something needs to be done about this company !! Total scam .
Untrustworthy dishonest BRS/YGP
Would give no stars if i could. These conmen have got our daughter who has a new business into a contract with Yorkshire gas and power who were are now reporting to Energy ombudsmen. We spoke to a guy from here who said he was from the commercial department and we asked him numerous times where he was from and was not very clear. We tried to call them back but called from unknown number we then get bill from YGP for extortionate advanced bills for almost 6 months worth of Electric. . These are conmen in it for themselves and clearly working together to con honest people into over inflated contracts by saying the ones they have got from reputable brokers are no longer available which is clearly not the case. I feel they lied to pressure our daughter into signing the contract which is making her bills twice as much as they would have been with the previous signed contracts. They clearly do not follow Finance Conduct Authority guidelines and they are also not transparent or treating the customer fairy by giving them the best deal. I feel they were very dishonest regarding rates we had already received which were much cheaper saying oh no they are no longer available. They said Valdar account we had signed up for a week previous had been cancelled as unsuccessful attempts but we still had the rates on 7th November with Valdar so again this was untrue and mis leading information amongst many other mis leading / mis represented quotes. They will clearly tell as many lies necessary.
Ombudsman upheld our claim for mis selling / mis representation from the broker which is classed as fraud. I urge everyone to report to relevant authorities. Also try your local MP we reported to ours and we're very helpful.
BRS not only ignored the Energy Ombudsman Decision by leaving 5 days after the decision but decision still stands as they were members before during and up until decision in our favour but also are now ignoring a County Court Summons we have sent them as well so clearly shows how corrupt they are and don't follow the rules. The MD at the time then resigned and moved to one of their other connected companies Business Support Centre yet is still Majority Shareholder of BRS.
Have emailed the Energy Secretary / Trading Standards as well this week to highlight ours and lots of other peoples concerns. Energy secretary's reply said amongst other things they are bringing a new bill in next year to clamp down on rogue brokers who exploit consumers through excessive commission and use predatory sales tactics.
I urge anyone who has had a bad experience to contact Trading Standards, Energy Secretary, Local MP, Papers, Watchdog, Rogue Traders because until these are brought to justice they will continue to ruin lots of new small businesses lives.
If I could give zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would.
I’m currently heavily pregnant and was cold-called at 7am by a woman named Michelle, who claimed to be from the "meter registration team." At no point did she say she was a broker from Business Reduction Services, nor that she was signing me into an energy contract, even after me asking several time what company she was from and what the call was regarding. I believed this was just part of registering my new tenancy.
I told her clearly that I was busy getting my children ready for school and asked to take the call another time — but she refused, saying it had to be done immediately as she had my details in front of her and I’m
On an out of contract rate so just needed to finish registering my details. She completely took advantage of my polite, people-pleasing nature, kept me on the phone, and continued to sign me up to Yorkshire gas and power, and pressured me into agreeing to something I did not understand. The call came from no caller ID, and she gave no contact details.
Later I discovered she had signed me into a contract with Yorkshire Gas and Power (YGP) — a company I had never even heard of and had clearly said I was not comfortable signing up with. After multiple failed attempts to reach anyone, I finally got through and was told they had already taken a £275 advance payment, and now they are trying to charge me nearly £800 more — despite the fact that the premises have not been used, and I have provided meter readings showing zero to minimal usage.
To make matters worse, I am now being harassed by debt collectors and threatened with supply disconnection, even though this is a clear dispute that I have formally raised and is still unresolved. The stress this is causing me during pregnancy is enormous, and it is absolutely unacceptable.
This entire process — from the deceptive broker tactics, to the unjustified charges, and now the aggressive debt collection — has been a complete nightmare.
I strongly warn anyone considering using Business Reduction Services or Yorkshire Gas and Power: do not engage with them. Their methods are manipulative, misleading, and exploitative. I will be escalating this case to Ofgem, the Energy Ombudsman, and seeking legal advice.
they found me the most competitive…
they found me the most competitive supplier for my new business and the process was quick and easy thank you!

I WOULDN’T GIVE THEM A ONE STAR IF THERE WAS ANY MINUS SCORES.
absolutely appalling company. We are opening a new business and has I have read the other reviews written about them the same happened to us. They have signed us up with YGC even though I rang them the day after and told them I couldn’t do it has it was a brewery owned property. MICHELLE who was the person that rang me was one of the biggest con people I have ever had to deal with. And of all people I should have known better after dealing with a lot of these situations. But she kept bartering me. To the point that I even told her I wasn’t happy with the way she was conducting herself. But in the end after a 15 minute conversation I signed the agreement. She said if I put the phone down then the price would go up substantially the next day. She then proceeded to give me her direct line so I could call her the next day if I had any issues. Which I have on email. I rang her at 7.30am the next day and told her that I couldn’t go ahead because it couldn’t be changed out of the current owner name has I was only a tenant and she said there was nothing that could be done. Which was wrong has several other agents had rang me that morning asking me if I wanted to change. I asked to speak to her manager and she said she would get them to ring me. I have never had a phone call back and her direct line was cut off 20 minutes after I spoke to her telling her I was going to speak to trading standards and the Ombudsman about the company.
DO NOT USE THEM OR YGC AS THEY ARE AS BAD.
