Byrna says it ie legal in all 50 States….. BUT….
byrna says it ie legal in all 50 ststes? however, the state of delaware does not allow airguns firing over .177!pellets You have caught a very specific and critical conflict between corporate marketing and state-level statutory law. While Byrna frequently markets its launchers as "legal to own in all 50 states without a permit or background check", your assessment of Delaware law is completely accurate. In fact, Byrna itself acknowledges this loophole in its fine print and restricts shipping its traditional launchers to Delaware addresses. Why Delaware Law Restricts ByrnaYour observation about the caliber restriction comes from Delaware Criminal Code (11 Del. C. § 1445). Under this law:It is a crime for any non-law-enforcement person to possess or control a weapon that uses compressed air or springs to discharge a pellet, slug, or bullet larger than .177 caliber.Delaware classifies any air gun firing a projectile larger than .177 as a "projectile weapon" or dangerous weapon.Because standard Byrna launchers fire .68 caliber rounds (and some fire .61 caliber), they vastly exceed Delaware’s strict .177 caliber legal limit for consumer air guns. The Marketing Disconnect When companies like Byrna claim they are "legal in all 50 states," they are usually referring to Federal Firearm Laws. Under federal regulations, any device that uses compressed CO2 rather than an explosive powder charge to propel a projectile is not categorized as a traditional "firearm".However, federal definitions do not override stricter state or municipal laws. States are entirely free to regulate compressed-air devices as "dangerous weapons" or restrict their calibers, which is exactly what Delaware has done.
My LE launcher has been messed up since…
My LE launcher has been messed up since day 1. The first pull of the trigger causes the first projectile to fall out of the barrel and the CO 2 cartridge expels a worthless waste of gas. I called the help line to get help and was told that the 14 day return was expired. It took longer then that to receive the device. Time has passed and since I get no help from the company, I continued to practice with my device and at this time, out of the 5 shot magazine, I get maybe 2 shots, the rest fall out the end of the barrel. The upside is the projectiles are easy to find and to use again and I'll never have to buy anymore of the overpriced projectiles again.
My advice to Byrna is to fix your screwed up designs, use quality materials and use quality workmanship. Put a longer warranty on your product and back it up with superior customer service. I will wait to see what you do in the future, but until then, I won't be spending anymore money with you. Signed, Pissed Off. If Hanity can say it, so can I.

I used my Byrna in a good practical way…
I used my Byrna in a good practical way for the first time yesterday. A bear came into my property that killed and ate most of my chickens. I have one left. When it came back for the last one, I shot at it, and it immediately ran away. No bear spray at that distance would have done that. It came back of course, and headed towards me. One shot sent it on it's way, unharmed. The conservation officer on this case was impressed, and said that's the best way to control them, since they do the same thing with non-lethal devices. I have video of proof. I ordered more ammo right away.
Great products and service
I really like the Byrna products and everyone there is very helpful and the company has great customer service.
Byrna on Facebook has excellent customer service
Byrna on Facebook was highly responsive, in answering my questions. I'm very happy with the customer service!
I was looking for a home security…
I was looking for a home security solution that could solve a problem without a lethal outcome. I found the Byrna Launcher checked all the boxes. My wife was concerned until she used the Launcher for the first time. She was impressed and confident once we were finished the first target practice we did. We both felt confident in handling the Launcher its power, accuracy and the ease of shooting it. I am very pleased with this purchase.
I had questions and found the response time very quick and answers to my questions very helpful.
I found everything from Customer service, the purchase of the Byrna, delivery and the Product was 5 stars.

Hello
Hello! 😀
I received that missing screw today and my CL launcher has been repaired by me today finally, thank you guys so much for sending that screw and honoring your product that’s such a vital self defense less lethal protection against so many unknowns. I will always be a loyal BYRNA fan and customer always standing behind your product helping to promote it! I look forward to buying other BYRNA upgrades soon for my CL. Thank you again!

Reached out via instagram on a holiday weekend for help with something - was shocked to get an instant reply with all the help I needed … whoever is running the instagram is phenomenal. ! Thank you
Bye-bye Byrna. Terrible experience.
I purchased a Byrna CL launcher for my daughter in the hibiscus color. I ordered it early so it would be here for her birthday. When we opened the box, it looked too much like a real firearm in that color. I called Byrna directly and was told that I could not exchange it for another color (I decided I wanted orange for her instead) because I was out of the 14 day notification window. No exceptions. I found this totally unacceptable. This was my second order with Byrna (I have spent over $2000 with them) and it will be my last. I was extremely disappointed in their unwillingness to work anything out with me. Bye bye Byrna!

HATE the CO2 technology
Once you pull the trigger, the CO2 cartridge starts to discharge. That makes sense. But if you don't take a lot of shots, reloading the Byrna several times to do that, and it sits for a few days (or longer) the CO2 cartridge empties (and can mess up the inside of the Byrna). So you have to load a new one. I HATE THAT. There's got to be a better way.
I'm an older woman. I live in a very safe area (though a lot of people around me I know are gun carriers), so I didn't buy my Byrna primarily for self-defense. I use it almost exclusively to scare rabbits, raccoons and groundhogs away from my bird feeders and garden. Granted, that may not be its "intended" use, but it works well. (I don't deliberately hit them -- except the large raccoons, which also try to attack my goldfish pond -- but having the projectiles land right next to them is very effective to scare them.) However, I need to take only a few shots at a time to get that job done, and it will be several or more days before any such animal shows up again (or for the first time). So the Byrna sits unused -- and starts to leak CO2. I'm at the point at which I'm sorry I bought this thing. It also takes way too long to load. The projectiles often easily pop out of the top of the magazine as you're trying to do that. If I were truly in an emergency and the Byrna wasn't already loaded, and with a new CO2 cartridge, it would be fairly usely for protection.

Dont buy anything from these crooks!
Dont buy anything from these crooks!
I researched a Byrna LE launcher and learned that the latest LE Gen 2 model was a significant improvement over the previous generation. Since the Gen 2 version of the LE had been available for many months, I felt comfortable in making the purchase.
On June 27 I placed my order on the Canadian Byrna website and continued to gather additional information about my purchase. On June 30 I chatted with a Byrna customer service rep and asked her to confirm that the unit I ordered was the Gen 2 version.
To my surprise, she said that the LE launchers shipped to Canada are NOT the Gen 2 version - they are the older Gen 1 version, a clearly inferior product. When I said I was unhappy about their deception she claimed that the difference between the two versions was only cosmetic.
According to the information on the Byrna web site her claim is absolutely FALSE. The product description on the web site, that I used to make the purchase, does not specify which version is being sold. Elsewhere on the Byrna website though, they sing the praises of the Gen 2 version.
It's a classic bait and switch scam! They should not be allowed to get away with it!
Update 1
Nice try. Byrna happily/deceptively sold me an 'old stock' Gen 1 LE launcher months after the new Gen 2 model was being sold and glowingly reviewed in the US. They deliberately sold (@ the same price) the Gen 1 models to Canadians only - until they ran out of them.
At no time, did they differentiate between the Gen 1 or Gen 2 models on either the Canadian or American web sites. When I complained about this deception, they said that the pictures of the Gen 1 LE on the Canadian site were 'clearly' different than the pictures on the American site AND that the differences were only 'cosmetic' anyway. Keep in mind that they did this in the context of the many very convincing reports by US customers that the Gen 2 model noticeably outperformed the Gen 1. They even had a link to a YouTube review of the fabulous new Gen 2 on their site! There is no doubt in my mind that they did this because they wanted to dump their old Gen 1 models on Canadians while they sold the new improved Gen 2 to Americans.
Isn't it funny that the Canadian site NOW sells the Gen 2. I guess that model is not so 'specific to the U.S. market' anymore.
They claim that I should have noticed the difference based on a couple of different pictures and they continue to claim to me that the devices are identical, despite the evidence.
THIS is a blatant lie!
From the LE description on your site:
"The Byrna LE features a completely redesigned trigger interface and valve assembly to fire .68 caliber rounds at speed of up to 330 feet per second. The new trigger design on the Byrna LE allows for a much smoother and lighter trigger pull, providing a better experience for the shooter."
That sounds like a very significant upgrade!
An ethical company would have told purchasers that there was a Gen 2 model coming out and offered the Gen 1 at a discount.
Update 2
You removed your first deceptive reply entirely and wrote some new lies to replace it. Obviously that was because the second set of lies you told contradicted the first set. Being deceptive is clearly central to your business model.
I will continue to inform people about your deceptive practices. So far I have successfully steered 3 of my friends away from purchasing one of your lame products.
Update 3
You:
"Canadian-specific compliance and labeling requirements that differ from those in the United States".
Will you, in the spirit of honesty and fairness that you so fully embrace, describe the DETAILS of that new 'compliance'?
Of course not because that would reveal yet another lie 😂
Update 4
You cited 'labeling compliance' for the delay in offering the Gen 2 in the Canadian market. If Byrna was so concerned about making their package labeling compliant, why did they sell me a Gen 1 in 100% NON compliant packaging, that was clearly for the U.S. market only. In other words, you blatantly broke the same rules that you falsely claimed were the reason you didn't sell me a Gen 2 in the first place.
The shocking facts are:
"Byrna smuggled dangerous firearms, in non compliant U.S. only packaging, into Canada and illegally sold them to Canadian customers. Obviously, this was an attempt to dump their old U.S. stock of Gen 1s in Canada so they could sell the Gen 2s in the U.S. "
I wonder what the BBB, Trust Pilot, and Canadian government regulators will say about that...
Due to your failure to do the right thing,
on Monday, I will:
1. Report the above to the relevant Canadian government agencies that regulate this from both a Customs and a Trade perspective.
2. Start posting this information on YouTube. It will become a bright orange rash of ill will on every related mention of your company.
Do the right thing...

After sale service
I contact Byrna about an issue with a Byrna holster. Megan assisted me. I was looking for advice on how to fix the issue I was having. I learned I was the only one reporting the issue and there not a likely recourse.
Megan however stayed with the problem I was having an came up with a great solution. As someone who has contacted customer services with other question I had begun to believe that customer service was a dying art.
Megan showed me this was not true and has restored my faith in customer service. Gold stars to her and Byrna.
BAD advertising
Heard ad on 6-12-26 for the Byrna LE Gen 2 @ $100 Off on 2 different Radio talk shows. On 6-13-26 in the morning i went to order and advertised price would not get honored although there was Absolutely no mention of a sale ending date on the ad. I was going to order 3 and they flat refused to honor price. After reaching out through customer service, the situation was corrected and price honored.

I just did a chat with Maria D
Me and my co-worker Alaina Lorenz was just chatting with Maria D. She was very pleasant to deal with and took care of our problem immediately with no complications. We really appreciated her kindness and knowledge and willingness to make things happen.
I recently purchased the Byrna LE
I recently purchased the Byrna LE as a safety precaution for my family’s outdoor trail riding and recreational outings. I chose the LE model based on extensive research, wanting a dependable, high-quality tool to ensure peace of mind in secluded areas without resorting to lethal force.
The Product Experience:
Upon receiving my first unit, I was deeply concerned to find that the majority of the external screws were loose right out of the box, with one screw completely unengaged. This was surprising given the product arrived with an inspection card signed by "Inspector 555." I documented these issues thoroughly with photos and videos and shared them with the team. When I received a replacement, I noted it was inspected by the same individual, which has left me cautiously observing how this unit performs. To ensure complete confidence, I have purchased over 200 practice rounds that I plan to put through this launcher before I rely on it for defense. I believe in being thorough when it comes to safety equipment.
The Service & Accountability:
Where this company truly stands out is at the top. When I encountered these initial issues and reached out to the company, the CEO, L. Pham, contacted me directly via phone within minutes to take personal accountability for the situation. It is rare to see that level of leadership in today’s market, and I truly appreciate the trust they placed in me by sending a replacement without requiring the immediate return of the original unit. I made sure to return the faulty unit promptly, as I believe in doing the right thing.
Room for Improvement:
I am a shareholder and a customer who believes in this company’s vision. Because of that investment, I hold them to a high standard. I purposefully approached this situation as a "litmus test"—making it clear that I was not seeking handouts—to observe how a company I am invested in handles a critical breakdown in quality control.
While the CEO’s engagement was stellar, the organization should re-evaluate how it treats loyal, investing customers. Companies often proactively provide premium service to social media influencers to gain exposure; however, they must recognize that loyal customers and shareholders who have already invested in the ecosystem are the true backbone of the brand. A proactive gesture—reaching out to ask what a customer is interested in or how the company can make their day after a significant quality lapse—is not a "loss," it is a vital investment in brand loyalty. Failing to do so is a missed opportunity to turn a frustration into a lifelong brand ambassador.
The Bottom Line:
I am satisfied with the performance of the Byrna LE I now have, and I am impressed by the leadership’s hands-on approach. I am sharing this level of detail because I want to see the company succeed. I hope they sharpen their internal quality control and evolve their customer service strategy to reward the loyalty of their investors and dedicated users with the same attention typically reserved for influencers. They have a great product; I want to see their customer service strategy become equally elite.
Always a pleasure to do business with…
Always a pleasure to do business with this company, everybody’s always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with what they’re doing. They stay in contact with you when you need their help in a timely manner. Thanks for doing a great job. Keep it up.
Product was misdescribed on their website but they refused a return anyway.
Product on their site was described as 97mm in length when it arrived it was 120mm in length. I called inquiring how to open a return for the misdescribed item and they told me there were no returns. You are in America, you do need to take responsibility when you have not described your item correctly (please reference the consumer protection act). A chargeback has been initiated. You could have kept a customer for life but I'll get my money back anyway and use a more reputable company in the future.
Megan was great
Megan was great, she got right on my issue and did not stop until I had all of my questions and issues taken care of. She even sent back pictures to help answer my questions. I needed a new 7 round magazine for my TCR and she had it in route the same day. That was great service, and she was very kind and professional.
I believe byrna has given me the very a step above.
I believe byrna has given me the very best customer support l have ever had. I purchased their product from a second party and had a problem. I had a question about the product I received and ask Byrna customer support about it. Byrna replaced the item quickly and professionally even though not purchased directly from them. That is exceptional service.
