I hired out a campervan from Campervan Village on a one-way 3 week road trip from Christchurch to Auckland. Campervan Village offered very competitive rates for a self contained vehicle and it was very easy to liaise with staff during the booking process.

The staff were very friendly and helpful when it came to collecting the campervan, despite me not being able to find the location initially. Contactless collection was seamless and very easy.

The campervan was in acceptable condition and was well equipped, coping well with the long journey.

The drop off was seamless and as promised, I was refunded my deposit within the agreed time frame. Liaising with the team on collection, during hire and at drop off was very easy as they were responsive and knowledgeable.

I was very impressed with Campervan Village and would be inclined to use them another time should I visit New Zealand again. Thanks for the good experience!

Bad Service and trash car with broken wheel

We weren’t advised of a deposit that we would need to pay on arrival. This was fine for us to do however we also weren’t advised that this would take 3 weeks from drop off to be refunded again. After collecting the car, it was clear that it had not been fully cleaned. We also weren’t advised that we had to wash the vehicle outside before bringing it back so were sent away to scrub the flies off it. The vehicle was broken when we picked it up ( bumper hanging off) and we were advised to purchase duct tape to fix this which would be refunded to us… still waiting 4 weeks later. Wouldn’t recommend, poor communication and service.

Really great experience with Campervan Village! The booking process was quick and easy and the staff were super fruendly and helpful. The truck was clean and comfortable and had everything i needed for The trip. Would definitely book agai n.

Great staff, very helpful. Started out with a flat tire before we even jumped in the car but they fixed it for us in minutes. Great campervan, clean and nice to drive. A couple of dents but that’s expected with an old car. Me and my friend had a great time. Bond came back perfectly in time and everything went as I should.

Travelled from Cairns to Brisbane on a relocation deal for like $1 a day. Can't complain based on that alone, also happens that the van was really charming with the Mystery Machine decals.

The desert sands was great fun. Lots of space in the rooftop tents and the kitchen came in handy

I rented a scooby doo van over Easter. It was good value for money. The van was really fun and got us a lot of attention

The car was in a poor condition, smelly, and with empty tank. I barely got to the gas station.
The support was pore, and the locking sistem was working badly.

Matched my budget and then some making it much cheaper than anyone else on the market. Really appreciate the flexibility from the team 🙏

Easy booking process, kind staff.

Vehicle is very affordable and is the best way to explore North Island on a budget!

For us it has been a great experience discovering many corners of New Zealand with this campervan

The camper—or rather, the car—was great! Just what we had imagined. The staff was friendly and showed us everything. Returning it was quick and easy. Don’t forget to take photos (before and after the trip). Not because there were any problems, but so you can send the pictures to the rental company.

Organising and renting the rental was easy and hassle free. The quality of the rental vehicle was OK- expected from a backpacker rental company. However to get the holding deposit back has turned me off using this company ever again. I had to chase up my deposit money 2 times and on day 30 received confirmation that the money would be refunded... Only to be told that it would take another 5-10 business days to process. To have money held ransom for potentially 40 days is ridiculous. Avoid for this reason alone in my opinion.

The van I rented was junk. I was surprised it finished the journey. Many things did not work on it. No AC. Dirty. We found a used condom on the floor. The staff is almost impossible to communicate with. Don’t do it

The campervan worked and I managed to complete the trip, so I can’t give one start but at least two. But the campervan was old, may things didn’t work (radio command to open, parts of the stereo and ac) and it was overall poor quality. They also didn’t provide any blankets, and the “mattress” was not a mattress and super thin and uncomfortable. I’m not an expert on camping but the overall experience was poor.

I rented the Aventus 2 for few days. The check in and checkout were super quick and my deposit has been given back few days after. (I had full insurance)

I remove just one star because having to buy the shits, pillows and blankets and give them away (if you don’t simply throw it) is a bit of a waste. A rental service could be nice.

Booked a 0-1 yr old camper ans got s 18(!) Yr old one. Lot of things were broken and srill waiting 3 weeks tot get the bond and accesoirea back. This was once and last for me. Sad. They also charge extra money for the bond which u dont get returned.

Hired a camper for 3 weeks, picked it up in Brissy and returned it in Adelaide. The exterior had some general wear and tear when we picked it up but for the price we paid, if it doesn't affect the drive, why care. Everything was as expected and communication with the company was easy while on the road. We had a key snap and they were quick to assist as to not interfere with our time schedule. Paid a higher premium for a lower bond which was absolutely worth it. Couldn't recommend higher. We were slightly offput by the poor reviews but very glad we chose to believe the good over the bad. Would absolutely book again.

Fantastic service and lovely staff, good wee van which gave us plenty of fun.
