Finally, a change on the horizon

As a Company care director after receiving an apology statement from CQC, no surprise about the media coverage today. My company who has provided a homecare service for more than 30 years were given a rating of requires improvement in 2019, was around care plans, we made lots of improvements and despite trying to keep people safe during the pandemic, CQC returned to reinspect in 2021and gave the RA rating again because our digital system wasn’t fully functioning at that time. We hadn’t had any complaints from the people we support and people were happy with the service they pay for. Fast forward to 2024 and we have not had another inspection so we are stuck with this rating that does not reflect our standards in anyway. Considering the inexperience of the inspector and the massive fee that we pay every year to this so called regulator makes the whole system completely worthless for what benefit it has brought to us, especially possible loss of business because of the rating. Recently questioned about their lack of communication, CQC are apparently experiencing technical issues!! I hope that finally they will be brought to account in their unprofessional conduct and lack of respect for the people they are supposed to support.

Not surprised to hear about the…

Not surprised to hear about the findings in the news today about the CQC not being fit for purpose. Too bad they have already done so much damage. My GP practice, The Old Dispensary was hands down the best practice I have ever been a member of (been a member of 5 in total) but it was shamefully given an inadequate score causing disruption and major upset to the local area not to mention the staff there. I didn't believe the rating to be true. The standard of practice was exemplary. I initially wondered if the CQC had an ulterior motive for destroying a downright fantastic GP service, the truth, it seems may be just simple inadequacy. I for one definitely wouldn't believe a word they say. Would give negative stars if I could.

This article in the guardian says it…

This article in the guardian says it all. A useless self serving organisation. We are better off with nothing as they have had zero impact on patient safety or improving the quality of care generally. Disgraceful.

This week Ian Trenholm, the boss of CQC, unexpectedly resigned. In a subsequent internal memo leaked to the Health Service Journal, Kate Terroni, who has been named as CQC’s interim chief executive, admitted that it was failing to keep patients safe and losing the confidence of the NHS and of ministers. The memo reportedly said: “The way we work is not working and we are not consistently keeping people who use services safe.”

Utterly dysfunctional and rude

Utterly dysfunctional and rude, they hung up twice today while we're on hold waiting for an answer. They didn't know about auto-renewal of Enhanced DBS Certificates and can't be asked to check, now delaying our application, again, while mental health clients are waiting for their treatment plan.... Mr Trenholm - wake up and earn your salary!

Utter waste of time

Utter waste of time. Messed me about for 5 months and then claimed my case was time barred. Took it to PHSO (another corrupt quango) and found out not time barred but they wouldn't have had enough time to investigate under statute of limitations......you messed about for 5 months! Very dispassionate and cold. Waste of time and frustrating. PHSO also a total waste of time. They won't challenge the status quo. Jobs for the boys and ex nurses. ABOLISH!!!!!!!

Pointless phoning for advice,

Unfortunately felt my conversation with the Care Inspectorate Scotland was futile. I came off the phone with the distinct feeling that they were ‘cozy’ with the Care Companies management and that everyone BUT the Care Company were at fault 🤷‍♀️. Sadly they seemed more concerned about the Company than my father.

No Fit For Purpose

The CQC inspector for Hampshire & IOW Team 1, failed to investigate a concern that I had raised with the CQC in January regarding a serious incident involving my son, a vulnerable adult who lives in supported living. The incident in question had put my son at grave risk. Instead of carrying out an investigation into the incident which had been covered up by my son's care provider, the inspector has let the provider off the hook, no holding them to account. It smacks of collusion. I am disgusted that this inspector has let my son down and he will continue to be at risk if incidents are not investigated. The inspector strung me along for 3 months, letting me think he was actually going to investigate/ take action. I don't think he ever intended to. The CQC have failed in their duty of care to safeguard my son.
Edition: the inspector since January was telling me he wasn't able to make contact with the care provider management, but then on 5/4 he informs me he had held a meeting with the care provider and the local ICB ( who had closed ranks), where they discussed 'my' concerns. He told me that I could attend a meeting with the care provider & the ICB to discuss my concerns!? He's colluded with both the care provider and the ICB. That is morally bankrupt. Local inspectors can sometimes form 'friendly' relationships with care providers. It's all about people looking out for their own jobs & the service user comes second. Time for a governmental review of the workings of the CQC and ICBs. Shame I can't rate my experience with zero stars.

What exactly is the role of this Organisation?

What exactly is the role of The Care Quality Commission Department? They have to be the most negative and neglectful organisation paid for by the taxpayers, As far as I am concerned they are a complete and utter waste of time. I recently logged a complaint with them because I was concerned about certain practices that were going on within the ICU West unit at Hammersmith Hospital which proved to be life changing for my family in more ways than one, but at the same time I also witnessed the same things happening to other patients and families within this unit. So I contacted the CQC in January with my concerns, and to my dismay, they basically were not interested, all they said was that ‘we will bear this is mind’ this is just a salary to them, they don’t care about people!

After contacting the CQC, I then went on to the Hammersmith Hospital’s website to see when an inspection was last done, and from what I could see it was last done in 2019, which incidentally came back as ‘Overall: Requires Improvement’, Therefore if this is the case, what exactly has been done within the last 5 years to improve and rectify this scoring?
CQC methods are archaic and ridden by bureaucratic red tape, I don’t feel that they are an independent body; because as far as I can see, they stick together with the very organisations that they are suppose to regulate, basically they all mark each other’s homework!

Their existence is absolutely pointless, and from my own personal opinion, it just seems to be all just one big cover up if they cannot get the relevant organisation up to speed within 5 years. Hence more and more people suffering and even worse, as a result.

I rest my case!!!

Don't Complain It is a Waste of Time

I must complain.i am shocked at the appalling level of service I have just received.I raised a concern about a hospital and the way they have treated my mental health. On the first call you were engaged and interested and asked me to email my concerns.I chased today and it took 23 minutes for you to find me !Apparantly you have a new system that makes this difficult. When you did find me you said that all that would happen is you may raise my issue at an inspection at a date well into the future.not helpful .The organisation that has wrecked my mental health needs investigating now! Your organisation needs investigating now for the way you have treated me and my concerns .

fabricate records that someone is s a victim of modern slavery and then share it with everybody and refuse to delete because it is FALSE AND FABRICATED.

have reported some very serious issues to them they pretend that they have not understood or misundertand deliberately so as not to investigate, ie Bristol Infirmary hospital who actually fabricated medical records stating someone was a victim of modern slavery , refused to delete it and refused to provide evidence or back it up, they also failed to follow all the procedures and protocols if that were the case, they refused to resolve and meet and were happy to pass onto their Solicitors who then disclosed this all and the persons name in an open civil court , they also refused to correct personal details that were wrong,ie address and name, people who work for the NHS are unhinged and unfit for purpose and the nhs is the worst , there are better hospitals and care in Africa and in whole of Europe than in the UK, the NHS is full of nasty childish people and that comes from my aunt who works for them and said this. their solicitors at DAC Beachcroft disclosed this all in documents when all victims including Domestic abuse have a right to keep their information confidential, and solciitors and courts are supposed to use initials only. it is clearly intentional and malicious and has been reported to the human rigths commissioner and Rapporteur,it has now come to the point where I actually do not care what they write as it is all fabticated, false and the care over 20 years has been pitiful the worst care in the world. the abuse of power and position in the NHS is beyond a joke, if a medical person does not like you they will just write whatever to be malicious. that is seriously a sympton of a mental health problem. NHS resoltution, a male refused to resolve and so these people are getting paid to do jobs they do not do. It is clear that sexism and racism is RIFE in the NHS. in another case reported SWAST, refused to change again name and address that were incorrect and said it was not part of GDPR and they had no duty to rectify , despite the ICO having cofirmed to me that it is. Andrea Sharp the investigating officer clearly has no intention of doing her job or investigating these issues so we know it is a CLUB or it is it a CULT ? in one response they dont even sign from a case worker it was signed GALLOWGATE. CAS-280577-W1G1B8 , SO I am publicly taking the opporutnity to state that the NHS records held are all false, fraudulent and fabricated and amount to DEFAMATION AND SLANDER and the actions further amount to HARASSMENT. as they hold incorrect details re my name and address, they are clearly not my records and have been falsified intenitonally or by sheer incompetence and negligence of the record keeper. SWAST, their solicitor, stated, name and address is not personal records but amounts to medical records. SHE IS CLEARLY talking out of her ..... and she knows it. any opportunity to rile and be racist they actually seek great pleasure in, which is why these peole are all unfit and should take extended leave and get mental health help. you are not professionals and god knows how you obtained your jobs although I have a good idea.... I think you had one too many of those vacc boosters, it has turned you into pathologically missing an empathy cell in your body.

Worst, overly bureaucratic regulatory organisation

CQC is the most negative and neglectful organisation paid for by the taxpayers and the very organisations they regulate. The assessors (previously inspectors) are patronising, neglectful individuals who have no time to even speak to the registered managers.
CQC methods are archaic and ridden by bureaucratic red tape. I tried to speak to one of the inspectors and was informed that they had better things to do than speak to me.

It’s just a jolly for ex nurses, they stay in hotels, all expenses paid, drink and eat in the tax payers when travelling around the country only spending short amount of times in the hospitals. The CQC needs to be assessed for untrue reporting.

NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

the CQC are not fit for purpose.
I contacted them to make a complaint about my care company (I am the care receiver), after submitting a long report explaining I had video evidence of abuse, negligence and breaches in Health and Safety, they DID NOTHING.
My care company provided me with carers that put my health at serious risk. I have video evidence of:
- carers wearing the same gloves used to empty and clean my commode, in the kitchen.
- scratching her head or nose with her gloves on then preparing food
- putting her fingers in my soup to check the temperature
- picking up a spoon from the floor and putting it away in the drawers with the clean spoons
To name a few!
The care company failed to provide me a copy of my Care Plan and a copy of their complaint procedures as they are required to by law.
Even though I raised a complaint by email I never received a reply to it.
I reported all my finding to the CQC who DID NOTHING, simply brushed it under the carpet stating that they have no powers to act but to use complaints to 'improve the service'.
The care company was never inspected to investigate my claims. UTTERLY DISGRACEFUL - SHAME ON YOU

The issue of medical negligence…

The issue of medical negligence solicitors and their impact on patient well-being and care is a serious concern that needs to be addressed. It is unfortunate when vulnerable patients are exploited by greedy solicitors who then contact health services providers for details and medical records. The question arises as to how well these records are looked after and whether they vanish. There is also the possibility of intimidation of witnesses, which further adds to the bleak situation.

It is alarming to see an advertisement for a charity focused on guiding people towards medical negligence solicitors in the A&E department of a hospital. Witnessing firsthand the devastating consequences of medical negligence and the vigorous defense by NHS trusts against negligence claims, it is disheartening to see such a promotion in a healthcare setting. Additionally, the fact that NHS consultants also work as expert witnesses in medical negligence cases, charging exorbitant fees for reports, is astonishing. Some consultants even boast about producing a high number of reports annually, indicating the large amounts of money involved.

The harm caused by medical negligence solicitors is significant and should not be ignored, as it severely damages the trust between patients and doctors. Claims of a high success rate by firms are misleading, as they often dismiss a majority of cases. Profit seems to be the primary motive for these firms, and if they cannot profit from a case, they have no interest in assisting the patient. While the NHS complaints system may offer apologies, they rarely admit legal liability. The phrase "it was not our intention" may sound nice, but it holds little legal value. When mistakes are made by the NHS or other healthcare providers, they should take responsibility and prevent solicitors from profiting at the expense of patients. It is also concerning that there are no proper processes in place to prevent medical records from vanishing. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) should consider involving the police whenever medical records go missing, especially after mistakes have occurred.

CQC lack resources for letters and more

With all their resources/personnel CQC informed me they do not have the time/resources to correspond by letter. The same applies to UCLH when letter to them about treatment/service received went unanswered.
Some weeks after letter to UCLH notice from them (complaints dept) that the letter (about treatment received) passed to them.
UCLH must have had contact from CQC about my
complaint who did not contact me if that was my wish.
Anyway never any response from UCLH. No interest from CQC or UCLH about terrible effects on my health due to actions inflicted by 'neighbours'/others in my so called home.

A dogdy doctor using a dodgy care commisioner

Went to see a so called specialist in Harley Street who I reckon was dodgy.
I then got an email from this CQC bunch out of the blue, only 2 weeks later, as follows:
'I (Mark Ainsley) am a National Investigation Officer with the Care Quality Commission and I am currently assisting on an investigation under section 10 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008. I am contacting patients who received consultations and treatment on floor 4 at 41 Harley Street that would be willing to assist the CQC in our investigation'
I chose not to use the mobile number provided but looked up CQC and used their contact email address to ask the so called Mark ainsley to ring me back..., and heres the catch..., the email address given on the CQC website came back as undeliverable!
A dogdy doctor using a dodgy care commisioner to back them up, I reckon!

Scrap CQC

Scrap CQC. They declare abusive and unsafe care venues safe and Good. I reported serious abuse in 2 psychiatric ward and they retorted them as safe, despite my report there was blood trailing up the corridor after I had heard patient screaming while he was being beaten. I told CQC years ago I will never report abuse to them again. Now I see they have declared my utterly failed and worthless gp surgery as good in all areas. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME SPEAKING TO CQC ABOUT ANY CONCERNS. They simply cover them up.

CQC are not fit for purpose

CQC are not fit for purpose, I reported issues with GP and the way they treat people with mental health issues, it was terrible, but the CQC decided not to investigate, even though it had a previous report done by the CQC in which it needed improvements in regards to mental health patients, nothing has changed, and that was three years ago, the surgery has not had any CQC inspections.
