I have had a really positive experience with London Mutual Credit Union. The staff have been friendly, helpful and professional throughout, and I have always felt that they genuinely want to help their members.
The process was straightforward, communication was clear, and whenever I had a question, I was treated with patience and respect. It makes such a difference dealing with an organisation that feels approachable and supportive rather than just being about numbers.
I would definitely recommend London Mutual Credit Union to anyone looking for a reliable and helpful credit union. Thank you for the excellent service and support. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If it is loyalty you're after, think twice...
I joined LMCU six years ago and have taken three loans since. I repaid all three on time and in full. Nobody there ever had to chase me for a payment.
Last month I applied to consolidate some debt. The loan I asked for costs £50 a month less than the one I had just finished repaying. Same lender, same member, smaller commitment. They turned me down.
I got no reason worth the name. Nobody at LMCU looked at the six years of repayment history sitting in their own files. Someone fed my application into a scoring system, the system said no, and that was that.
Credit unions sell themselves as the alternative to the high street banks: member-owned, run by people who know their members, willing to use judgement where a bank uses an algorithm. LMCU applies bank rules without a bank's resources, and shows no sign of asking whether a decision actually helps the member it lands on.
Six years of custom bought me nothing. I'll borrow elsewhere, and if you're thinking of joining, think harder.

We can't go into specifics of individual applications here. However, let me assure you that the process doesn't work the way you've described.
Someone in our lending team reads and decides every application. For members who have borrowed before, savings and repayment history are one of the things they consider. They also assess what someone can afford at the point they apply, covering income and outgoings, and any commitments held elsewhere. We have to carry out that assessment every time, even if someone has been with us a long time.

Their website and app is not user friendly. Nothing is explained, everything just seems like a mess. They need to update and make everything easier

Their card service is terrible numerous…
Their card service is terrible numerous times I've had funds on hold for months when for some reason the payment fails on one occasion for 7 months
Never get a explanation or apology if this was a bank I would have had been compensated a simple explanation would have been sufficient but nope just they just ignore the fact they messed up

LMCU.. Thank you every single time.
I’ve had a relationship with the SOUTHWARK branch for a number of years now. Gone through some traumatic experience and I could only turn to these guys.
One thing I will say is, I think someone new took over management years back and for years it has been straight forward, loan process overall is swifter than ever, they are not just providing fantastic services, but they care to maintain this too!

I have been trying to get loan for a…
I have been trying to get loan for a very very long time and i have been declined twice in 2 years now even though been told that money will be taken out on the payslip as where i work is part of the company
My problem is both times you guys took time and both times there was literally no communication before declining it it was to do with funeral expense this time and i needed a boiler when i rang in i was told by the person IT WAS ME WHO HELPED YOU LAST TIME so you can not say we were not in touch yet when i said i never received email i was told may be problem is with your email i gave them my work one even on that i have not received ANYTHING
