Amazing to find an NHS dentist taking on patients. The staff are amazingly helpful and polite. The dentist was excellent - kind but professional. The work carried out was first class. Would recommend... Ver mais

Misleading & are NOT accepting NHS patients
3 Oct 2023 - NHS website on 3 Oct 23 says they are accepting new NHS patients. This practice shows on NHS website as "Mr E Harunani, Mr N Harunani, Mr M Kanani". I phoned, they said "yes we are accepting new patients". I asked, "how can I register and get an appointment?" - receptionist said "you have to come here to fill in a form" - and she refused to send it by email, she said it has to be done in person. I told her it is a one hour drive to get there, she said "it's your decision if you don't want an appointment". So I asked, if I come there to fill in the form, then when can I get an appointment?" She said "when we have the form, we will look at it". I asked, "so when would that be?" She said "I don't know". I asked, "So when are you booking new appoints for?" - She did not want to answer, so I kept asking the same question - and she finally answered "May" - as in May 2024.
Don't waste your time with this practice. They are not accepting NHS patients (contrary to their status on the NHS website), and they will just put you on a waiting list, and you will have to wait 8+ months to be seen, if ever. What is the point in misleading patients, by saying they accept NHS patients on the NHS website?
Poor quality service!
Poor quality service!
I called and made an appointment for my granddaughter and explained I am not her parent. The receptionist who took the call did not ask what the personal situation was why I am making this appointment for her or say anything to me whilst booking the appointment.
I arrived at FH Dental Practice with my granddaughter and again when asked to complete the forms I explained I am not the parent. At this point the receptionist challenged me at the desk and humiliated me in front of other people. I had to ask to speak to the practice manager and go into a separate room to discuss my private affairs. Eventually my granddaughter was seen!
If that wasn’t even enough it was her first time of going to the dentist and the dentist didn’t even bother introducing herself or making my granddaughter feel at ease! She just said “sit down and put your head back”. I then had to intervened and said “aren’t you going to even introduce yourself. This place is really going to the dogs!”. At least my dentist would make me feel at ease by introducing herself and explaining what she is going to do next! She then corrected her appalling behaviour and said her name she didn’t even apologise. My granddaughter was very nervous and started crying. The whole experience was absolutely appalling.
The practice manager told me on leaving that she had spoken to her staff but this is too late the embarrassment and upset has already been caused never again! I will not be going back!
Just to add I note that they HAVE NOT requested their usual “please write a review” they must be too ashamed by their poor performance hence the reason why I’m writing this note on Trust pilot website!
2 Appts cancelled last minute
The dentist cancelled my mums appt twice now, less then 24hrs with no reason, wasted our time booking these appts. Why send a text and email confirming the appointment! We waited all this time for the reschedule when we could have gone elsewhere and been seen too. The customer service is poor and i wouldn't waste your time going here.
Riverview denist
I have experienced bad service from this practice. 2 weeks ago, my wife had an appointment for a crown fitment. We specially took leave for this appointment from work as we work far away. They called 1 hour before the appointment (I was already traveling there) and canceled the appointment due to some xray fault. The lady was not apologetic, she just insisted there's nothing that can be done and thanks for understanding, and that's it.
She rescheduled the appointment for today, for 15h40. At 14h05 we got a sms and voice-mail again saying the appointment is cancelled due to the dentist feeling ill. Again we had taken leave and we were already on our way there. We arrived to the practice to a lady named Joleen who offered no apology, and made me feel like it was my fault for apparently not getting the message earlier. I got frustrated, to which she rudley told me theres nothing she can do if the dentist is ill.
Like atleast appolgies? I have taken leave twice for this. For the appointment to just be canceled. My mom and sister had an appointment for today, And their appointment was not canceled, there were 2 dentists there for them.
We were at this practice a few weeks back for a check up, and their systems were down. They didn't have any of our records available, they couldn't take payment or book the next appointment, I had to call later to do this and make payment over the phone reading the lady my card details.
This place has completely lost my faith in it, and i cant believe thay this has happened twice with no apology. A small apology and some actual action to get the crown sorted is all we ask for, But all I got was Joleen telling me "there's not much I can do if my dentist is ill" and a bad attitude, when I was the one put out twice by this.
Would rate zero stars if possible
Would rate zero stars if possible. Always cancelling appointments without valid reason and then don’t answer their phone. Favour private patients over NHS Patients, rude staff. This is the Leigh branch
Rude and abusive receptionist. No response to complaint
Rang my old dental practice which has been taken over by Dentistry for you. I called the West Thurrock practice around 4:45 to ask if myself and my son were still registered. I was not even able to explain why I needed to know this when the receptionist shouted at me saying she would not be giving me or my son an appointment as I have missed so many appointments. She kept saying it over and over, shouting “ you can’t expect to miss appointments for all this time and call up. I will not give you an appointment and you are wasting your time asking. You missed so many appointments” it was seriously like she was telling me off.
When she paused for breath I explained that I moved house 3 years ago in April 2019 and had struggled to find an NHS dentist so have now gone private with BUPA and wanted to check that I am still registered so my records could be accessed, especially as I have got married in that time and my name has changed so it could cause confusion. Again she shouted repeatedly saying I’d missed an appointment in 2015 and 2016!!! But admitted I had a filling done in April 2019 which I confirmed was just before I moved. She then claimed I have made appointments since that I have missed which I categorically deny. I live over an hour away and haven’t needed a dentist in all that time. She then told me they have archived all my records and they would not be passed to a new dentist as “we are not a GP practice” which doesn’t make sense as police identify dead bodies from dental records so they can’t just be deleted.
As I said, I don’t need an appointment with them and was purely ringing to advise of my change of surname. Also, to my knowledge, a receptionist does not have the authority to refuse someone NHS treatment!!! I would be interested to hear CQC’s views on this also.
I emailed Dentistry for you Head Office straightaway asking that they listen to the recorded call as it was absolutely disgusting and I was spoken to like dirt, without even getting a chance to speak. Unfortunately, my complaint has been ignored.
Glad I have a BUPA dentist. This woman is clearly in the wrong job and has tarnished the practice name
Very nice staff
Very nice staff, able to get in very quickly. Dentist and hygienist very friendly and easy to work with.
Waste of Space.
Copy of complaint sent to management.
I note that another client had the same problem , see Google Maps ,and that was a month ago, nothing changes it appears. It will be interesting to see the excuse this time************
Hi, After having my regular checkup cancelled due to Covid I found myself needing attention to a particular tooth .I attempted to obtain an appointment last Friday week but was told by the receptionist that only two NHS appointments are allocated to NHS patients per day, yes, two per day, and they would be classed as an emergency type, no option when your backs against the wall.
I also completed the online form, to date I have not had even the courtesy of a reply.
To obtain one of the aforementioned appointments, one needed to phone at exactly 09.00 hrs, I attempted this procedure every day for one week only to be told all two appointments had been taken within seconds.
I then asked if I could attend another branch but was told that was not allowed, odd !
As far as I'm aware there are four dentists, maybe more, operating from these premises, two NHS appointments per day ?
I would add I'm registered at this establishment, and fully appreciate the Covid situation.
So much for customer service I am not impressed.
