Very helpful and have a vast range of products to choose from. I made a mistake when i placed my order and one of the items needed to be swapped for a different one, i understood that the one i wanted cost slightly more but Direct Trade Supplies were able to sort it out for me for free. The customer service is second to none and they really do care for their customers, they pick up the phone in seconds snd respond to emails very quick.

All in all, they are a very good company.

Quick delivery and very helpful customer service team

I am hugely disappointed with this company and deeply regret buying all electrical components for our project from them. I chose them for our ongoing renovation project because the products appeared to offer the finish and style we needed at a slightly lower cost, but it has turned out to be a costly mistake.

Most of what we purchased were Knightsbridge modular switches, toggles, and dimmers in a smoke finish, intended to be installed throughout the property as part of a wider electrical fit-out. Unfortunately, the quality of these products has been extremely poor. In particular, the smoke finish does not appear to be anodised or durable. It looks and behaves more like a thin spray-painted coating, which can be scratched extremely easily with a sharp object and even with a fingernail.

From a customer’s point of view, this makes the situation very difficult to accept. These are everyday electrical accessories that are meant to be handled repeatedly during installation, testing, adjustment, and normal use. If the finish is so fragile that it marks this easily, then scratches appearing after installation by contractors are hardly surprising. In my view, this points to an unsuitable product finish rather than simply careless handling or installation damage.

The quality of the products I received has therefore been very disappointing, and when I raised concerns about faulty items, the company seemed more interested in finding reasons to deny responsibility than genuinely investigating the issues. Despite providing evidence and spending additional time and money trying to identify the faults, I have been met with excuses and suggestions that the problems must be related to installation rather than the products themselves.

What makes the experience even more frustrating is the lack of trust shown towards customers. Instead of taking my concerns seriously, I felt as though I was being blamed for the defects I was experiencing. As a result, I have incurred additional costs for an electrician to spend time rewiring and troubleshooting products that should have worked correctly in the first place.

Had I purchased from a well-known retailer, I am confident this would have been resolved quickly and professionally. Unfortunately, trying to save a little money has ended up costing me far more in replacement costs, wasted time, and electrician fees.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to think carefully before purchasing from this company. The poor product quality, combined with the unwillingness to accept responsibility for legitimate issues, has made this one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I have had.

Excellent customer service from Direct Trade Supplies.

I accidentally ordered the same item twice and only realised after the standard returns window had passed. I contacted Richard to explain the situation and he was extremely helpful, agreeing to accept the return as the item was completely unused and still in its original packaging.

Communication was prompt, friendly and professional throughout, and the whole process was handled without any fuss. It's refreshing to deal with a company that is willing to apply common sense and put customer service first.

The dimmer light switch I kept has now been installed and looks fantastic. The quality is excellent and it has finished off the room perfectly.

Excellent customer service - arranged a collection at very short notice from their supplier for some product that I needed urgently.

Ultimately they supply products manufactured by others but yet their delivery is dreadful. Emails telling you the delivery date are wrong. When you phone them they tell you they dont understand how that can happen and will confirm the already late tracker by 5 pm that day. Nothing. Dreadful service, the 48 hour delivery was explained as once they sorted the order, not from the point of placing the order. Would not use again. Beware if you need items in a time that is implied, you probably won’t get it. We are 96 hours after order and items not received.

I would strongly avoid using Direct Trade Supplies after the experience I had with their customer service today (Friday 22nd May around 9am). I spoke to a male member of staff who was unbelievably rude from the start of the call. Instead of trying to help, he seemed more interested in arguing and talking over me, which made the whole conversation very uncomfortable and unprofessional.

As a paying customer, you expect basic respect and communication, but this was honestly one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. If this is how customers are treated, I would recommend people avoid this company and shop elsewhere. Very disappointing.
