I sold an item on e-bay.uk last week for £4,750.00 and a few days later I was invoiced by e-bay.uk for £387.00 when clearly their website states:-
How much do eBay take in fees UK?
When your item sells, you pay 10% of the final transaction value, including taxes and postage. We call this a final value fee. We cap final value fees so you'll never pay more than £250 for a single item. If your item doesn't sell you usually don't pay a final value fee.
So I was expecting to pay the capped amount of £250.00. I phoned e-bay.uk and spoke to someone in America (I think!) who was no help at all. I then spoke to another lady who did not understand the capped amount of their website. She then said that paragraph should have been removed and that they had updated the fees! She said that she had removed the paragraph. The paragraph is still there. Surely I should only be paying £250.00 as the paragraph was and still is on their website. I would appreciate comments. I would give no stars if possible. Opened an account only for it to be permanently suspended 3 days later.
No explanation given.
I have told everyone i know about my experience, and intend to carry on doing so.

New law needed!

Wanted a table with a hole in the middle for a parasol.
Sent away for one, and received one without a hole.
Asked seller for return label. He Did not know what I was talking about - had problem with English language.
E-bay promised guaranteed refund - JOKE! Just sent me running around pressing buttons. Never, never,
again will I purchase anything through this company.. There should some law to stop fraudently claims.

I sold a vehicle back in april 2020 the start of lock down told company policy from pay pal to hold onto funds for 21 days ,this went on for weeks , admitted he paid by a bankers draught, could never speak to any one ,the resolution center is all automative,stumped on certain questions other answers come back to simolar or same wording for human response,all to passify you stall off waste time ,admitted after 6 months , there policy too late to claim ,the money qas never their in the first place,they admitted fraud , but shrugged shoulders said sorry the time has lapsed we cant help.ABSOLUTE SELF SENTED CROCK OF BAD EXPERIENCE,AVOID AT ALL EMPHASIZE COSTS

Got conned by a shop called LEMONPAI in China. Couldn’t get any help from EBay, no way to speak to a human. They were supposed to phone me but I just got an Email to say my phone number was wrong!!! No it isn’t..... basically they are damn useless!!!
And as for “Lemonpai” !!!! It’s not the money, it’s the principle!!!

e-Bay has wasted hours of my life even though there is no dispute

I wish I had never heard of e-Bay and will certainly never try to use them again.I would rate them at less than one star.

I bought a Tilley Talisman gas burner, returned it and the vendor has agreed to return the purchase price.

Simple? You would think so - many days and hours of pratting about on their website later I am no closer to getting my purchase price of 40 pounds back.

I have repeated many times all the details, of myself, the vendor, and the fact that he has got it back safely.

This doesn't penetrate the e-Bay citadel.Today they gave me news I had given them days ago, "Good news. Your return request has been approved. The seller will provide you with a return postage label to send the item back. "
I tried to send the return label details to them - but the site repeatedly fails to complete this act because of "technical issues."
Having just wasted another hour in ever decreasing circles I am resorting to this review. Perhaps it will wake up this dysfunctional operation.

Sold an item for my daughter (first time) with a no fee offer back in April.
E bay with held funds and I had to get in touch , which takes days.
Yesterday I get money taken from bank account and an e mail with no explanation. Contacted e bay on line who said it was PayPal issue. Contacted PayPal and it’s clearly not it’s an e bay issue.
I’ve asked for my account to be closed and my bank details taken off the system but they won’t.
Feel very uneasy and not happy they have taken money from my account.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SELLING THROUGH THEM AND WILL NOT BE USING E BAY AGAIN.
Feel like my daughter has been conned.

Arrogant lot…

Advertised an item on e bay last year at 10% and the money would be paid into PayPal if that is your method of paying.The item has now been sold and the buyer paid into paypal, but e bay have now snatched the money and holding on to it for a few days, we have rang 3 times to find out where it is, got the usual flannel and excuses. So now ebay are charging 12% to claim paypals 2%' all without the consent of us and anybody else, not giving opportunity of how you get your money. They have just said they are trying to sort ,things, out at everybody else's cost. During this time they also asked customers to update their account details on the internet, nobody knowing if it was a scam going on the current trend of widespread scams at the moment. They just confused everybody. An arrogant outfit that do not really deserve customers. We will change.

Wait 30 days for your OWN money

I sold an item for collection 23/05/21. The item was collected so I expected my fund instantly. However ebay took their 13% and then stated that my funds would be available 22/06/21 !!! I then spent 45 mins of MY TIME on eBay chat advising that the reason we all sell on eBay is to gain payment and not have to wait 30 DAYS while ebay earn interest on OUR MONEY, We will never sell on eBay again as it has now become an expensive chore

I don’t usually sell on e bay I usually buy but decided to give it a go with a few items ,ok they offered me a no fee at all for selling 4 items ... but what I was shocked with them holding into money paid from the buyers for 11 days , it finalised on Thursday and they wanted to hold my money until the 11may , but still wanted me to send items ... umm don’t think so .. what happened to getting paid when sold and then you send items .. ended up cancelling and will use market place instead from now on , it is free ...

Unfair bigotry policies

I have recently heard that E-bay are banning certain figurines on the basis that they are 'racist'. Where do they draw the line?
Personally I find it offensive that all young white girls are portrayed as 'dumb' & materialistic in the shape of 'Barbie', Cindy & other such 'toys', but a lot of people get pleasure from playing with them, so I put my narrow minded attitude aside.
Historic figures are just that 'historic'.
On this score I find E-Bay hypocritical.

Fair and balanced process

E bay do not provide a fair process and sides with the buyer, disputes are resolved without the view of the seller.
The cost of this service in my opinion is expensive.

E-Bay Scam Artist's & Deceiptful Liars

On 12/02/2021 I sold a set of TaylorMade R11 irons on E-bay they were dispatched on the 15/02/2021 and delivered to the Buyer in Scotland on the 18/02/2021 three hours after receiving them the buyer filed an Item not as described case the Buyer is and was Portraying himself to be a member of the PGA Professional Golfers Association with 20 Years experience as a Professional and he was listing this phrase on all the items he had listed himself on e-bay ( Buy with complete confidence from a PGA Professional over 20 Years) so upon contacting him and receiving some abuse I decided to investigate him I contacted the Professional Golfers Association and asked for clarity and Confirmation if this person was a Bonafide member of the PGA at the registered address he uses on E-Bay well ? to their Knowledge they don't have this person registered as a Professional Golfer at the address he uses so I checked all his 21 listings at 0:45 on wed 17/02/2021 for confirmation of the phrase and after viewing them I decided to go back to the PGA and tell them what I found and duly forwarded all my findings to them by E-Mail and to E-Bay for the reason that Lying Rats and Scam Artist's should not be allowed to trade on their Platform.
I confronted the Buyer with my findings and he immediately stopped replying to my e-mails and he also removed all his listings and removed the phrasing ( Buy with complete confidence from a PGA Professional over 20 Years) he has now relisted all items minus the phrase so it would seem I made a right decision to do this because I sent a Sprat to catch a Dirty Lying Mackerel so the Moral of this story and review is Never Lie or make up Something or Somebody that your not because he is now under possible Investigation and inquiry I have just tried to Post this on E-Bay but they blocked it so looks like they are as Dirty As he is RIP E-BAY because your not as squeaky clean as you think you are in fact truthfully you have now become a Sewer Haven Start treating genuine Sellers with the Respect they Deserve

an E Bay seller too far!

To be fair, I have not had bother with having money refunded but what I ob ject to most strongly is E Bay turning a blind eye to obvious fraudster sellers (Yes, I am aware of some dishonest buyers too) I rdered a book which did nog arrive and on checking the feedbak of the seller I realise why. Hun dreds of negartives all with the same compolaint. Paid the money, did'tget the item and seller ignore all e mails. I e mailed th seller a David Cross3 times with no result so on 18th Feb it will be left to E Bay to refund.I have subsequently found out in my research that David Cross is a 60 year old businessman, a company director of ESCEND LTD of Maidstone Road Gillingham, Kent. I will be pursuing the matter through C onsumer Protection, the Police Fraud Line and if all else fails, The Department of Trade ans Industry. Firms like E Bay operating in Britain can not be allowed to turn a blind eye to the appalling record of some of its sellers. who defraud honest buyers, then laiugh in their faces when they complain because they thi nk they cannot be touched as they appear to have the blessing of E Bay. Please everyone if you are ha vin g thr same troub le do make a coplaint to Trading Standards/Consumer Protection and the other bodies I mentioned. Aone we can do othing, united we can save others from heartache.

Bad experience

Bad experience. Parcel lost or left outside the building and stolen. I did not get any information on what happened. Apparently they got GPS proof or other but why bother with showing it to the customer. I tried communication with seller, e bay and delivery company buy the result was that I had to pay for the whole circus. Money back guarantee, yeah rights, e bay can cancel on any stage and will not show anything to customer. I left e bay. Even though I was a loyal customer. If you lost a trust in e bay i would not order anything of higher value any more. I had to switch to Amazon. I am not a fan but they are going to take over anyway. Why extend the Agony or e bay.

E-bay have done it again.
Buyer stated he received "an empty envelope", (nothing in it). even though 3 Items were sent in it taped together.
Buyer then submits a return for one of the items, this is one of the items he didn't receive. and E-bay pay him out.
E - Bay is So open for abuse and corruption.
E-bay It's a laughing stock.
Thieves and rogues Fill your boots.
