As a company grows, service is getting worse. Used to be that when you had a problem, you contacted an actual customer audiologist, but now you must talk to a call center who listens to your problem and then emails the audiologist, while you were on hold for five or 10 minutes and then they have to give you an answer which is often incomplete. This is the third set of our Eargo that I have purchased, and the customer service keeps getting worse. This time the charger has failed on the year EARGO SE, and I explain that I'm an engineer and I know when the charger is bad but instead she still wanted me to go through a ridiculous number of steps to diagnose even though I explained to her that un under no conditions would the charger display any lights, even with using a separate power supply. So when she finally agrees it's bad then she says they will send me one which will arrive in "5 to 10 days". Now what am I supposed to do to be able to hear in the meantime? In this case with both sides being unable to charge, they should have sent them out overnight or at the worst, Second day. Call center was unable to do that and so while I have escalated the call, I have not heard back.
Don't waste your money on this hearing…
Don't waste your money on this hearing aid. I wore them for at least 2 years when they worked. I send them back at least three times for repair until my warranty ran out and they charged me. No use having hearing aids that don't work. Understand you must get customer service for the return. My hearing aids I wear today are better and where less expensive
I love these...
With these compact, powerful, and comfortable hearing aids, I'm able to detect sounds that I've been missing for some time. The smartphone app is intuitive and extremely helpful, and the Eargo customer support is outstanding: helpful, proactive and very responsive. I am very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend them. I never expected to love hearing aids, but I love these.
Eargo 8 is great!
I had the Eargo 5 for about 2 years and was satisfied with them. I recently upgraded to the Eargo 8 and "WOW" what a difference. They have gone above expectations with this one. As usual, customer service goes above and beyond to help.
Customer service next to useless
I bought these hoping they would fall out of my ears less easily than my much more expensive BTE units. That turned out to be a false assumption. In addition, their higher frequency sound reproduction is MUCH more tinny than the BTE units (get what you pay for?)
The real problem which led me to write this has to do with their customer service.First problem was they cancelled an extra earpiece I had ordered and we had to repeat the whole process when I wondered why it was never delivered (they never told me they cancelled it.. ). Then when the tide turned so I no longer needed that extra unit, and I tried to return that same unit, they approved that return but they can't get their software to issue any of the correct documents to allow that to happen....wasting HUGE amonts of my time with 4+ frustration.
No service unless purchased direct.
I purchased brand new sealed Eargo 8 hearing aids on Ebay. I lost the hearing aid for the right ear. I called Eargo, explained I had no warranty (because of the Ebay purchase) but would like to buy a replacement. I was told they provide no service to Ebay customers including even selling them a replacement hearing aid.
My hearing aids were almost certainly made and sold by Eargo, just not directly to me. I fully understand the no-warranty part, but refusing to sell me a replacement hearing aid was a little over the top.
I also have the Eargo SE hearing aids and upgraded to the Eargo 8's. The sound seemed slightly better with the upgrade, but not all that much.

Eargo functionality, service, and results made me a repeat customer
I upgraded from my old Eargo 6 devices to the Eargo 8. I had a problem with one of my Eargo 6 devices and the support team, after much effort, finally concluded that the device was defective. So, I was forced to either purchase one Eargo 6 device, upgrade to the Eargo 8, or consider another brand of hearing device. Buying one new Eargo 6 did not seem like a logical solution, considering their age. I did my due diligence and did try other brands under their money back trial period. Other options were substantially cheaper than the Eargo devices. However, because of their size, they were not as discreet and hidden as the Eargo. Additionally, my job requires telephone communication on a landline phone. The competing brands had feedback from the telephone receiver when held to the ear. The only solution was to hold the phone away from my ear to at best minimize the feedback I was hearing. So, I ordered the Eargo 8 devices.
Having had the new devices for over two months now, I can say that I am very satisfied. The hearing / sound quality has improved from before, and the technical advances are very beneficial. The elimination of the mic caps simplifies the cleaning and maintenance and the new charger that allows for many remote charges without an electrical outlet is a nice convenience. The Device Scan self diagnostics keeps me confident that the units are always in good working order. Importantly, the Eargo 8 also gives me no problem with feedback during normal landline telephone calls.
The videos and support staff were very helpful in getting me up to speed with the new technology. The staff also helped me with an issue with a "crackling" noise I was hearing in my left ear to begin with. They persistently worked with me offering suggestions until now the issue is resolved. I now barely notice that the devices are even in my ears, except for the improved hearing that they provide.
If you value a discreet hearing device with exceptional comfort and high quality hearing improvement Eargo 8 is an excellent choice.
Love my Eargo 8s
The Eargo 8 is my third Eargo and the best of them all. Great battery life, as the charge lasts the entire day and more, and you can go for days without having to plug the charger; they are invisible, and the most natural-sounding and comfortable hearing aid there is, period.
I love these hearing aids
I love these hearing aids. It is my second pair. I have had many different brands over the years but came back to Eargo. I think they are the best and love how you pop them in in the morning and forget they are there. I hate the behind the ear ones. Eargo customer service is excellent too!

The 8s are a huge improvement over the 7s. No comparison. I did a new sound test and was off to the races. No problems and the sound clarity is fantastic.
Eargo 8 the best
Eargo 8 have arrived and I’ve been using them for almost 2 weeks. I’ve been an Eargo costumer since 2019, maybe earlier. When I first started, I was amazed how well they improved my hearing. They were exactly what I was looking for, a device that fits in the ear canal that doesn’t just amplify every sound it amplifies the sounds that I have trouble hearing. With every new upgrade there is an improvement. The Eargo 7 that I had was ok but the ability to hold a charge was diminishing. I decided to try the Eargo 8 because I like the ability of the new Eargo’s to adjust sound automatically going into different environments. I see a lot of companies out there advertising lost cost hearing aids, but they just amplify the sounds a very uncomfortable thing when you’re trying to talk and listen to someone. So far, the Eargo 8 has been a winner. It holds a charge longer than the Eargo 7. No more end caps to replace, and the ear fitting pieces are a little different. I now use a small on the Eargo 8. Very happy with my Eargo 8. Oh, one more thing, the charging case lasts a lot longer which is convenient when I travel.

I have recently switched from over the ear hearing aids to Eargo 8's and they are fantastic. The sound quality is great, the charging system is unbelievable...easy to use. I highly recommend the Eargo 8 hearing aids. You wont be disappointed.

I've purchased hearing OTC hearing aids from Eargo three times. Each time Eargo has improved the product. I now have Eargo 8s and they are working wonderfully.

My eargo's don't work (again) I bought the last 5 years eargo's 5 and 7 series and had all kind of problems. The eargo's needed to be exchanged but now after a year the warrenty expired and my eargo 7 holds battery power only one hour. I gave up on my eargo's
Eargo 8’s, definitely worth it
3rd set of of Eargo’s, and the best yet. I am very pleased with my Eargo 8’s. Excellent sound quality, the battery lasted me from 6 AM to 10:30 at night. Amazing battery life. Again, can’t say enough about the sound quality. No tinny sound. Adjustability is so much improved. Thanks Eargo
Easy to use, functional app, great customer support
I’ve been using the new Eargo 8s for over a month and overall, I think they’re working well. I’m especially impressed with the app—it’s intuitive and makes fine-tuning easy.
Watching TV is still a bit of a challenge when the volume is low, though I suspect part of the issue is the sound quality of newer TVs with rear-facing speakers. I’m hoping to try them soon with a soundbar to see if that helps.
The other listening modes have performed very well. Compared to the Neo HiFi, the Eargo 8s offer much more flexibility in adjusting sound and volume, which is a big plus. Customer service and the orientation session were also helpful and included some useful tips. The tutorial videos have been informative with clear demonstrations.
One feature I do wish the Eargo 8s had is Bluetooth streaming for calls and music. I often wear earbuds at the gym or while walking, so I have to remove the Eargos when using those. I’m still figuring out the best way to use my phone with them—I’m not a fan of speakerphone, so I’ve been holding the phone slightly away from my ear to reduce feedback or whistling.
The listed price for the Eargo 8s is high for OTC hearing aids, but if you have decent insurance coverage the price can be offset a bit. That said, they are still more affordable than most prescription options.

Upgrading from Eargo 7 to Eargo 8
Having had Eargo 7's, it was a no brainer to upgrade to Eargo 8. Not only is it a great product, the customer service was excellent during the period I had my Eargo 7's. While the 7's were great, the 8's are even better, Both the fit and sound quality are excellent. And the charging life for both the devices and charger has significantly improved.
I love Eargo
I love Eargo. They almost feel like there's nothing in your ear, they work great, they are easy to use, and, go figure, I can finally hear!!!
