We contacted Eldercare about funding options for my father's care having used them previously in arranging a care annuity for my mother-in-law. In this case we ultimately decided against a care annuity after Eldercare arranged a series of quotes. I contacted Eldercare Solutions Ltd for specialist advice when my elderly father suddenly went from living independently to requiring full-time residential care. His financial circumstances were such that he would have to self-fund the full cost of his care. After discussions with Eldercare and acting as joint attorneys, my sister and I decided to purchase a Care Fees Annuity. I contacted Eldercare as I had come across their details on a Council website just to check if I was doing all I could to help my mum who had recently moved into a care home as self- funder. I got through to adviser immediately and she was able to give me extremely helpful advice from the start about the benefits of annuitising mum’s income enabling her to maintain the rest of her capital. The report and quotes received were clear and explained relative benefits and tax implications. They took time to speak to me and answer all my questions. It was a first class independent service from experts in later life finances. We had not heard of this product before but the care home that my aunt went into suggested it as a potential, alternate way to fund my aunt's long term care. After investigation and fantastic, measured, professional advice from the Eldercare consultants (with no pressure) it seemed an obvious way to fund my aunt's long term care to ensure she is safe and happy no matter what else happens. As a family, we were assisted every step of the way and feel very confident that we were offered best market products in terms of suitability and cost. Of course, it's not inexpensive and not right for everyone - but for the right circumstances like ours this makes absolute sense to ensure long term security.

We found a brochure from Eldercare in the Information Pack provided by my 96 year old mother-in-law's residential care home. Before this we had calculated that her assets, savings, state pension and higher rate attendance allowance would cover her for about 9 years in a nice, upmarket residential care home in Surrey. Tracy, Nicky and Roger at Eldercare were very helpful in explaining the features, benefits and drawbacks of Care Fees Annuities. They obtained 4 quotes for both immediate and deferred annuities and from these we chose a 2 year deferred option with a 5% annual price inflation adjustment. The end result is that for the cost of about 3 years' worth of the care home fees, my mother-in-laws care home fees will be covered for as long as they are needed. Peace of mind all round

I was put in touch with Eldercare by the care home my mother was going into. Ever since the first contact they have been efficient, and ensured we got the best deal on offer. I checked with my normal Financial Advisor, who wasn't regulated for advice on these products, but said that even if he was there was nothing he could add. Their process and advice was spot on.

As others have said they were not pushy nor were they trying to steer us in any particular direction, but only provided good solid advice.

I received independent professional advice from Nicky Cave, a qualified regulated adviser who is also SOLLA Accredited (Society of Later Life Advisers). This is what all financial advice should be like and enabled me to purchase a care plan annuity on behalf of my aunt.

Eldercare provided a high standard of advice and support throughout the process of deciding how best to fund my father's ongoing care.
