We needed a locksmith on a Sunday late afternoon after the lock on our window broke and we couldn’t close it. Front window as well so we didn’t want to leave it insecure! I googled emergency locksmith in my area and these came up. I rang the 0800 number and straight away it felt strange as the woman who answered just said “hello?” So I had to say “Is this the emergency locksmith?” as I thought I’d rang the wrong number! That initial moment made me feel a bit uneasy! Was told someone would be round in an hour. 90 minutes later no one had turned up and I hadn’t had a phone call either. So I googled them and found these reviews - and realised they definitely would not be welcome in our house! Called up to cancel and told the woman I’d read a lot of negative reviews so we didn’t want their services. Called a local locksmith who came within 20 mins and got the job done.
We definitely dodged a bullet!

Shocking. National Doors Entry Ltd was sent and tried to charge £800 pounds, refused to pay, charged my partner initial charge for call out on a Sunday to open a door whereby mortiss lock wouldn’t budge, charging 370 for call out, 270 for labour re basically drilling through the handle as no screws to detach handle, apparently screw driver would lift it off, and 100 deposit for mortise lock??? Then told another 430 to fit, not according to locksmith master guild.
The guy also did not appear to know what he was he doing, he rang I assume manager and appeared to be getting direction on what to do, but can not be sure as speaking Romanian, the guy had earlier apologised for his poor English he was Romanian, and only been in England 3 weeks, on reflection I wonder if he was here legally?. We rang and cancelled 2nd part to go with another company charging on £240 plus vat. I have looked this company no info other than Companies House, , only opened December 2024, by a Gabriel Merzen based Berkshire, who seems to open a business for a year and then shuts down. Or is shut due to a failure to produce accounts, very iffy, wondered if any tax paid. Spoke to Gabriel whom I challenged over the pricing and stated over priced according to Master Locksmith Guide. He accused me of scamming, blatant arrogance,bloody laughable. Reported and opened case with trading standards. Also complained about Locksmith 24 for recommending them. Got money back via bank, even though Gabriel appeared certain we wouldn’t get it, until I reminded him that his worker was driving around with no tax on the car. Don’t pay anything to these cowboys, don’t be intimidated, I was very assertive and they crumpled. Quite chuffed we wasted 2 hours of their time and I know I completely did their head in, I also threatened with police, and that’s when the Gabriel changed his tune offering discount, you can imagine my reply, 2 fingered salute. Ripping people off and looks like the public purse too,. Absolute cheeky fx@kers .

The website says no call out fee but charge a booking fee which is not referenced on the website.
They say labour is from £39 but I was charged £250 for less than fifteen minutes and a cheap looking lock where I had a Yale before.
No invoice sent despite a follow up request.

Disappointing experience.
I was significantly overcharged with no breakdown of costs provided. The technician pressured me to pay on the spot via bank transfer without clearly explaining the charges. Communication was poor throughout—no receipt emailed and no confirmation after payment. Would not recommend.

Very rude customer service received from their head office and the person who was coming to fix the lock.
Please avoid them. They said no call out charges, when a man came to look at the door, he was demanding money. Very poor service

I called this locksmith service for an emergency lockout, and they told me the wait time would be 30 minutes. After waiting around 35–40 minutes with no arrival or update, I managed to get back into my property with help from a neighbour and no longer needed the service.

When the locksmith finally called, I politely informed him I no longer needed assistance. He continued to push and say it's an emergency callout service and that he was rushing to get to me. He became belligerent in his line of questioning, I started to feel threatened, since this man knows where I live and I told him that if he was going to continue on this line of questioning that I'd have to call the police. His response was extremely aggressive — he told me to “f*** off” and called me a “stupid b****”. I was shocked and appalled by the verbal abuse, especially from someone representing a professional emergency service.

I then called the company’s office to report this behaviour. They then called me from a private number and said I owed a £39 cancellation fee. This fee was never mentioned on their website, over the phone, or in any written communication. When I pointed this out, I was told it was “common sense” — which is not how lawful contracts work under UK consumer law.

I declined to pay a fee I wasn't aware of.

Incredibly unprofessional, aggressive, and shady. I would never recommend this company to anyone — especially not in an emergency situation where you expect to be treated with respect and transparency.

Terrible. We called them out at 2.30 this afternoon & they said we’ll see you at 3. Then at 3, we get a call to say they’d be with us at 3.45. Still no sign at 4.15 so we called them, to be told that they weren’t coming after all. It’s so infuriating. Absolutely useless. If it hadn’t been an emergency, we’d have probably checked the reviews and seen how bad they are.

The door was jammed and the locksmith said he would need to drill a hole in the bathroom door and then manually take out the lock. He said the cost would be £130. On starting to drill the hole, the door suddenly opened, and no further work was required. So as far as I understand he did not have to do most of what he originally said, yet I was still charged the full £130. What he did literally took less than a minute.

Absolutely rubbish.
The guy came and was not professional at all. Assessed the job and without asking me if I would go ahead and without giving a quote just removed and cancelled my double security . Now my door is not safe and I'll have to look for someone else to sort it out.

If I could give it zero stars, then I would. The woman on the phone said it would take half an hour and on the website it says emergency door opening in 15 minutes but this guy took over an hour. The lady on the phone also gave him the wrong address so he didn’t turn up at our house he pulled up with a girl inside his car And came upstairs. He didn’t even try to open the door with anything but a plastic card told us the whole lock would have to be replaced and charged us £40 just for coming out problem wasnt solved and we sent him away.

Tried to charge £476 for a replacement lock on a standard UPVC back door. £100 labour plus a ridiculous £376 for the lock, when the lock itself would have cost them a third of that at the most. Wouldn't tell me which lock they'd fitted either, no doubt because I would then have known the mark up was extortionate. After arguing with them over the price, they agreed to knock the labour off, but we've still paid double what the job should have cost.
Just don't use them, there are companies out there that will do an honest job for an honest price.

This is the biggest scam ever. If I can give no star I would absolutely give it to then.

Quoted £49 to show up and £60 to fix the lock, and will arrive in 20 minutes.
We got a call 20 minutes later saying they will be here in 38 minutes?!
After an hour of wait, the engineer showed up, had a quick glance at the lock and say its going to be £380 for the lock (excl arrival fee) and we wont be able to find cheaper somewhere else.

LIES.

We found someone else for £180 and declined the job. The engineer then went on and tried to charge us £90 for coming in, fully trying to scam us. After saying no to this bullshit, he charged us £49+VAT (£60), showing how his pricing is just a number he wants.

I feel ashamed to paid him that much to show up and do nothing but scam us.

The website is a lie and any numbers they give are made up.

I contacted this company as my front door would not open and I had no way of getting out of my house. I tried calling my local locksmith that I have used before but he was away on holiday, so I called this company. The guy who was coming took over an hour to get to me, calling me to say he had been stopped by police and his car searched but is on his way and then saying the traffic was bad. When I contacted them, I assumed they were coming from Oxford, but took ages to get to me. An Eastern Europen man turned up and had very broken english. He asked for my keys and I passed them through the letterbox, he then started drilling my door for 2 hours. He said it was the worst door that he had ever come across to open. He then said he could open it for £285, I needed to be in London over an hour away so I said open it, thinking that fixing it was included in this price. He had drilled 3 holes in my front door. He said do you want a security lock, I said of course I want a security lock, He said he would need to get another part from a warehouse in Croydon as its a special part and would cost another £600, and will come back the following week to fit it, and just put on a temporary lock in the meantime, I was struggling to understand what he was saying to be honest. He then showed me a figure of £1500 on his calculator, I just burst into tears, I said I can't afford that. I said just put on a normal lock. He put a normal deadlock on my door and charged me £884, I paid it as I needed to leave for London. When I looked into this company further the next day, I saw many other bad reviews and that they were scam artists.

My local locksmith got back to me and said I had been scammed, it should only have cost £120 +VAT, I felt sick. I contacted the Master Locksmith Association, who told me that they are not a registered locksmith and they would forward my case to the police and to write a review on here to deter others from using them.

I paid with my credit card and hoping that I can get some of my money back under the credit consumers act.

I am hoping this is the right people as there seem to be several under the title 'Emergency Locksmith 24'. I called them out as my front door was flung open in a particularly ferocious gust of wind (it opens outwards) and then wouldn't close properly or lock. A man whose English wasn't brilliant arrived within the hour and quickly discovered that the lock barrel was broken (he demonstrated this so I believed him). He gave me the choice of 3 different barrels to replace it with, urging me to buy the most expensive one as it was apparently top of the range (an Ultion), was the most secure and would be better for my house insurance. It cost £259! He also informed me of the fitting charges, which were £89 for 'labour' and another £49 for fitting the lock. I had nothing to compare prices with but thought what the heck, might as well feel safer if it was all singing, all dancing. As he was already here and I needed to secure my property I reluctantly told him to go ahead. He took about 2 minutes to replace the barrel (£49 for 2 minutes work?????). He had also discovered that one of the door hinges had snapped with the force of the gust of wind which is why it wouldn't shut properly. He told me he would make sure that door was secure and not to use it until the hinge was replaced (I would need to get someone else in to fix that). Before he managed to shut and lock it I took a photo of the broken hinge which he asked to see. He told me he would take a better one and grabbed my phone. Admittedly his photo was better, but I was a bit miffed as his arrogance, plus he was a bit 'familiar' with me. He did seem to know his stuff but afterwards I felt I had been hoodwinked into forking out for the 'better' barrel. My total bill was an extortionate £397. He was here no more than half an hour and I still can't use the door. I later Googled Ultion to check their prices but they do not state prices anywhere that I could see, and they apparently only supply to locksmiths. I wish I had read the reviews first and will not use them again.

Wish I had read these reviews just been charged £596 for a crap lock and not very helpful person who kept adding price on cost and fitted a poor quality service so angry that these can trade and rip people off.

Scam don’t use them. They buy ads and don’t deliver.

The locksmith came to my flat on Sunday morning at 6:30am in
Palace Road SW2 3EQ for an emergency door opening as I locked my keys
in my flat by mistake. The job took literally 10 seconds as he just
had to run a piece of plastic/metal along the gap between my front
door and the door frame in order to release the deadlatch to open it.
He didn't need to bust the door open and change the lock, it was a
very simple task for him yet he charged me £300 for it!

He said that it was made up of a callout fee of £89 which is fair but
then a charge of £161 for the door opening plus VAT. I thought that
the door opening fee was quite excessive given how little work was
needed to complete it. I checked another locksmith's website which said that the rate
they charge for emergency door openings at weekends with no
destruction caused to the door is £50-£79 as per the link I sent you.
How come their rate is so much higher than the rate a competitor charges? The
job done for me was also a non-destructive entry.
I tried calling them to complain about the charge and they said to email them at the address on the invoice. I asked if they could call out their email address over the phone and they hung up, so unprofessional! I emailed them using the address given on my invoice and it returned saying the email could not be found. These are con artists and I don't think they are even a legit business. I've lodged a complaint with the master locksmiths association website and may even contact the police about them. Please avoid them for your own sake!

Was incredibly unprofessional, rude and intimidating to my lone daughter when they came after she booked them for a job and used pressure to try to get her to pay more than three times what they quoted her for the job. Crooks, if I could give them zero starts I would. Do not use this company.

Predatory scam artists.

Fleeced me out of £100 to drill a lock that another legitimate locksmiths later told me wasn't necessary, meaning I had to pay for a replacement lock for no reason (which they were trying to charge me over £200 for).

I am a lone female and the man was very intimidating and shouted at me to try and get me to pay more than ten times what was originally advertised.

He didn't even have a proper kit, just a drill and some sandpaper, and was clearly just looking to extort people in vulnerable situations. A proper locksmiths informed me companies like this one do this repeatedly and change their names when they get backlash.

I wish I'd have rang the police. Never again and wish nothing but the worst for them.
