Never order from this company
Never order from this company. Received a coffee table that was severed in half and after multiple email exchanges and phone calls (which happened immediately upon delivery) was offered a $145 dollar credit. Had to spend every day following up with pictures and requests to speak to a human and finally after almost two weeks time they admitted they would provide a refund. They initially were asking to have the item returned so this huge box sat in my living room for almost a month before they said, just kidding neither us nor the manufacturer want to deal with picking it up. Also cut to the 14+ business days they said it would take to issue a refund and STILL have not received a dime back from them. Awful, awful awful customer service
The worst ever
Of all the online companies I have ever dealt with this co. is the worst ever. There is no customer service. They respond back with bot emails a week later, then you get random emails in the middle of the night with no content. You have a 30 day return period (my item was severely damaged) and after almost 30 days still no return label. They repeatedly sent "forms" to fill out for a request return that had to have an "signed" signature. They must have sent that form 3 or 4 times and I kept signing it and sending it back and then would get a email with the same form again to fill out. When they would send me an email i was instructed not to reply or I would be "moved down father in to the q.
Updated: Now a happy customer
UPDATE: I am amending my review to change it to 4 stars. We did eventually get all furniture as promised, and it was all in beautiful condition. While it was extremely frustrating at the time, and the communication from France & Son was not adequate given the delay, I do believe it was beyond their control, and the cost was MUCH less than comparable furniture elsewhere. If time is not an issue for you, I would recommend again.
I am sad to say that I am beyond disappointed with this company. We ordered 8 dining room chairs back in JANUARY. We finally got a partial shipment of 5 of them delivered in June (after we had been promised they would come in by April or May). To be fair, the chairs are beautiful. We are still awaiting the last 3, which we were told would be delivered by June - they are now saying END OF SEPTEMBER after we wrote to complain. We are beyond patient as customers, but at this point I think they should not be allowed to make promises they have no intention of keeping. I have seen what a nightmare it is to go after them for refunds, but I think at this point we are going to have to make it legal. It is such a shame. They have good stuff for a good price, but they are either incompetent or fraudulent. I used to think the former, and now am leaning toward the latter. Wasted time.

I placed an order on March 2,2024 and there was no communication from the company. I reached out to the company and was told that the item is on back order and there is no shipment date available. I have since purchased the item somewhere else and asked France & Son to cancel the order. Suddenly, they started to communicate and had the audacity to attempt to talk me out of canceling. After I insisted the cancellation, they proceeded to tell me that they are unable to cancel the order as it being shipped. Meanwhile, once again, there was no communication AT ALL. Extremely poor business practice and after reading some of the reviews, I see it’s habitual. I have filed a complaint with BBB and called my credit card.
I've bought an almost $3000 dining…
I've bought an almost $3000 dining table that was supposed to be delivered in 2 to 3 weeks.
I was expecting three different groups of guests from abroad on different dates and needed the table. I bought the 8 chairs for the table in another store and quickly received them.
The table Never came, there were many excuses and rescheduling and after 8 weeks I decided to cancel the order.
No answer about the cancellation and money refund so far. I'm going for my rights with my lawyer.
I will share my terrible experience with France & Son on many websites.
The exchanged emails were always nice and promising but they always fail to fulfill the order/delivery.

A $3K Sofa Sleeper Saga: Weeks of Waiting and Still No Refund
Purchased a sofa sleeper on Apr 15 for close to $3K and payment was taken the same day. I was willing to wait for this custom order but after 3-weeks of not getting any updates, I proactively reached out and while I did hear back, it was not helpful information except "we are still waiting to hear from the manufacturer and will let you know once the order has shipped". After a further wait of another 2-weeks, I instructed them to cancel the order and it was another wait of 1-week before they could confirm if this is cancelled as it is a "custom" order.
When I finally received the confirmation of cancellation on May 21, I received this message "Kindly note that it may take approximately 14 business days for the refund transaction to be processed. Rest assured, once our team completes the refund process, you will receive an email notification."
It has been 20-days now and I still have not heard from them. This has been an AWFUL experience and I would be actively avoiding them and recommending people to do the same.

Unethical business practices
Well, I'm extremely disappointed. They cancelled my order without first talking with me and without providing a reason.
When I wrote them and asked why Customer service wrote back and said oh the price was an error and we don't have to honor it.
That is false. In this country the law says that if you publish a price you have to honor it.
What they're saying is that you should never trust anything that we say or do on our website.
Buyer beware this is a company that you really should stay away from it is unethical and they don't stand behind their product or any of their practices. Go elsewhere.

I ordered a wall sconce that was delivered on time. When I had it installed 2 weeks later my electrician discovered a defect. When I called with the issue I was told they would deliver a replacement. The replacement was delivered 3 days letter in perfect condition.

To follow up on my wife’s comments. It is now April 24th and we still have not received our refund from the console we ordered in January that we rejected delivery due to item being damaged beyond repair. We completed all their requests for a refund. They told us that it was in process and should be back in our account by today. Well it’s not. Contacted them again and they said they haven’t received the item back from the shipping company (which they use). NOT MY PROBLEM!! I refused delivery. That should be sufficient!! We told them that we will be contacting the BBB and filing a dispute with our financial institution. Now they are telling us they will “ask” the accounting department if they will issue a refund but they typically don’t until they receive the product back. Again, NOT MY FAULT THAT YOUR SHIPPING COMPANY HASN'T RETURNED IT!! Give me my money back!! I will NEVER do business with this company again!!

Then when it was delivered by one of the most incompetent freight companies I have encountered (Metropolitan, we had to deal with them before) it was damaged and we refused delivery and informed France & Son immediately. They had us fil out a form stating the damage and supply pictures, done. Then we were told they need 7-10 days to review the form/damage claim. I think that is a bit ridiculous, however, after that we contacted them a few times asking for an update as we made it clear when we told them about the damage we wanted a new one and wanted to know how long it would take. They finally answered but did not answer the question rather asked if we would consider the freight company (Metropolitan) repairing the damage and re-delivering it. Umm I don't trust Metropolitan to deliver anything, their dispatch/drivers/etc. are a mess they do not communicate to each other at all, and since when do freight company's repair damaged furniture? It was a resounding no from us, then we asked again, how long it would take to get a new console, no response. Called, was told we would hear back within two hours, heard nothing. Called again the next day, was told it would take 6 weeks to get a new one, but they did have it in stock (what?). So we told them no we want a refund, was told they would escalate to our rep, didn't hear back for two hours and got a canned response about thanking us for contacting customer service, nothing about a refund. We called again, same thing, we will escalate this, an hour later nothing. Sent another email to cancel for a full refund. Another 2 hours go by, nothing. Send another email, I mean this place has great customer service when you show interested on their website or put something in your cart and leave without purchasing, they follow up almost to the point of annoyance. But in this case, our emails and calls fall on deaf ears. Very frustrated and I want my full refund immediately!

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Real bad. My wife has been on the phone trying to reach a real person at France & Son for days, but to no avail. We ordered a sofa from France & Son and continued to call them regarding what date we can expect our delivery. No response. No tracking number provided. (WHAT?) But wait, that's not all. The sofa arrived unexpectedly and we ordered white glove service where they place the new sofa and remove the old one. The delivery truck guys were not aware of this, so they called France & Son and they learned that yes, we ordered the white glove service, but their truck was packed with future deliveries, however they managed to squeeze our old sofa on board. Great, so all is good? No. Wait. There's more. We ordered battery packs with the new sofa that were not with the delivery. ( These batteries control the recline functions). So now we're dealing with Mr Robo and his fill-out forms AGAIN trying to get these batteries delivered to us while we're running extension cords around our living room floor. This process has been VERY frustrating. All we are looking for is for France & Son to Fedex the batteries to us that we paid for. France & Son needs to put real people on real phones to deal with immediate and real issues. We're about ready to return the sofa, but are afraid that truck won't arrive here until September. UGH!!
