This site is useless. Ladies are a waste of time.
More recently, had a torrent of racially motivated abuse from a lady. On reporting to the customer desk, they did nothing. Chased several times for an update and nothing came through.
Waste of time....like the users on there

It is a free dating service?

Your profile must be approved or you can't send messages or you can't receive messages......they claim.

But in the meantime they will find out if they want to approve the profile, then 2 messages will be received in your inbox. The 2 messages are from 2 dating service sites where you have to pay to date.

So because you won't join paying other dating sites, the website harasses you and blocks you.

So it is not a free dating site.

This is disappointing behavior from the dating site administrator.

I discourage ANYONE from using the site, it is a scam that is only out to get you to sign up for paid dating. It's fraud because it's not free dating.

Signed up a over a week ago but still haven't had my profile approved...however they bombard me with emails about all the apparent new activity on site. Obviously an absolutely pointless website

Was a member on & off for years with no real success but at least it was pretty much scammer free, deleted my profile & just tried to rejoin after a year or so but not sent any conformation email & the site is just sending me round in circles...Guess I will just take it as a sign that I would be completely wasting my time again & just give up !

Very disappointed with this site. No local people to date. Most people are 50 to 100 miles away. Non of the men on there are interested in dating. Only after hook ups. Better dating sites out there for relationships.x

Complete waste of time from a mans perspective ,been flirting with it for years always same woman who never find a man ? A lot of the men on the website only seem to be looking for fun, a casual relationship. My profile stated that I wanted to meet men between the ages of 57-67 but I received messages from 20 year olds right up to a 79 year old! Some men were aggressive, rude or pushy in their conversation so I blocked them. Closed my account after a few weeks.

I recieved swearing name calling abuse threats of violence rape and death from a male on this site

Used the site, and it was one of the best experiences I have had in the site, got some good replies, easy to use and met the girl of dreams. Very pleased.

It might be free,but terrible dating site. Some off the women on here look a bit rough, I am 38yrs old and I have noticed most females you see on here are mostly 50+,there's a few younger ones.Seriously though I don't think your gonna find your perfect partner or anything special on here. When you get visitors that have checked your profile,most off them are really old some were late 60s.Lol I am going back too bumble or tinder, this freedating site is a strange place. I've been using freedating.co.uk on and off for years now. I've never had any problems that the other reviews describe. The problem is not the site...it's the type of men that use it! It's not their admins fault that weirdos use the site!! Personally, I recommend this site. I think it's good!

Its a shame i cant give it -10 . After being on the site for over 7 years they decided to block my account and saying its not a genuine account after over 7 years on the site . I would highly recommend to stay away from this dating app . Even tho it's free they treat you apolingly .

im using freedating right now oct 2023 i went on this site years ago to find a woman to get serious with settle down too im 54 now and i fear my time to have a family is slipping through my fingers and i can not do anything about it lack of replies lack of viewings even lack of likes really its all heart breaking for me emotional distress too i just want what old friends have kids around me thats all

years ago i used a site called oasis.com superb the greatest dating britain ever had anyone could get dates and anyone could find love too i did then like most relasionships it ends i guess that was my moment to settle down i fear its gone for me now this feels dreadful and painful

You never get replies to your profile, or messages you have sent.
Total waste of time and sadly, I recommend for you to look elsewhere as 'free dating' is not even worth one star.

Cannot understand why people are not rating this site. It's been good so far. Just needs a few more people to join and it will be really good. It seems to be working for me. The whole bots and old profile jibes are just sour grapes i think. I have been happy with it so far and it's not been a week yet. Date potential is good but i guess i must a rare fella who can talk interestingly and nicely. Plus i scrub up well in my photos. So far, the ladies seem happy. Maybe, brush up on your social skills if you just want to moan. And looking at all the hate for it i think you fellas need to admit you must work harder. It's free and it works. But you have to make an effort, be funny, interesting, and polite. I could make a fortune coaching you lot if you did not expect things for free!

The search function is strange as it comes up with the furthest away people. When you do send a message or a wink to someone, most are so rude to never reply. Instead have a night in by yourself with a bottle of wine and a good movie which is far more entertaining.

I logged in using my mobile and saw a rapid message stating that ‘Other members can’t see your profile’. This makes complete sense regarding the lack of activity. Is it free? Well you’re probably providing the owner of the site with something.

Once I expressed a wish to delete the account, which takes 30 days, I found that on trying to join local free sites “The owner has banned you from this site”

I agree with all the negative statements here, as this site is run by someone called Dan Winchester, who operates unscrupulously! Like many here I have attempted to set up a dating profile, and uploaded my photo, too. The photo was cleared almost immediately and yet a week in and I am still unable to log in, as it states, 'Profile Awaiting Approval'. This is Dan Winchester's way of preventing someone from joining his site. He used to do it by simply closing an account or suspending one, now he just laughs at us all, and allows us to hang in limbo, whilst he does nothing! I did have an account some time ago, which he closed, so this is simply revenge and attack on his part. He closed it because if no reason at all, but beware, as Dan Winchester does not state that he reads private messages, as this site is NOT encrypted, and he will get off on dating messages, then block people! I was blocked for giving my phone number to a lady whom asked for it!! Then, when I complained, he stated that I had broken house rules by doing so! What? Does he expect people to say on his site for ever? Probably, as this man peddles porn sites, too! And whenever any male registers successfully, the pervert bombards them (us) with other porn sites, including his own seedy selection! After I complained, and told him he was out of order, my email address began to receive spam and phishing from sex sites! Yes, all out there: Dan Winchester will sell or give away or simply hand over your email address to his perverse contacts, and you will be bombarded! The spam also includes every other con in the book, so thanks to freedating and Dan Dastardly, my email address has been compromised, too! The dating site industry needs regulating, as this man (?!) interferes, snoops, profits, and cynically operates, and I suspect 50% of the messages are fakes, anyway! Well done Dan... you have a lot of hate here, and well deserved! If you don't want us on your site, then tell us and don't just pretend our profiles are awaiting approval! And take care, as I also suspect you allow under age applicants to assume adult accounts, too!

Up Date: This is now some four weeks later, and Desperate Dan is still holding my account open, but awaiting approval! Again, what he is doing is deliberately lying to people, suggesting they are 'awaiting', when he has simply rejected! He does this for one reason: to make a point - it is his site! If your profile is put in this position, my advice is take your photo off it, as he probably sells photos, as well as email addresses on to unscrupulous third parties!

I would give less of a star but not possible absolutely I joke of a site I uploaded about 30 pics everyone refused said no people in the background yet I've seen loads no nudity and none of mine were and no fantasy how can I be fantasy I'm a person the worst app I've ever come across and I'm a cyber security expert so ove seen my fair share of ridiculous site but this one is by far the worst I've seen
