I haven't really got much to add that's not already been said. I joined freedating not really knowing what expectations to have. my account was active for about 2 days and uploaded to photos for approval both portrait and one shirtless in jeans being a man and being summer. I instantly have my account suspended, i emailed for reason the shirtless picture asked nicely if I could have the account reactivated I was told no. Less than one star. Minus zero if I had the ultimate vote! Completely freedating is antiquated but at least it doesn't kick you off for no reason.

I've been using freedating on and off for years and to be honest it works for me, more than pof ever did. I've met about 3 woman over the site who, it has to be said were a bit nuts but you get what you pay for and as this site costs nothing and offers an olive branch of sorts, who can complain? As for having my account being shut down, that's never happened to me and I've written some crazy stuff during my time...so be cool, have fun and you never know you might meet the perfect nutter for you.

Apparently, it's a time-waster with bunch of fake profiles and bots. Messages are being monitored and modified. 8 out 11 accounts I communicated with were banned. Freedating is very unreliable compared to the other sites. I think it's created for baiting people into buying a premium membership. But the problem is they have very suspicious and questionable profiles. You waste your time there and nothing happens for months.

Crappy site. Suspending profiles without warning or announcement, reason being marital status. Shocking

So far the site is fine. I've had some chats with some genuine ladies and they're nice normal people.

I've not had any ads. The email address and password I use for free dating sites is completely different to my personal ones.

You have to accept that with free dating sites not everyone on there is 100% genuine or honest. Many people on free dating sites are just bored and want a bit of a chat and laugh and some flirting, and don't end up meeting up - Guys are guilty of this too sometimes, from what I've read on ladies profiles.

The site seems as honest & genuine as any other free dating site, and it is 100% free. They are somehow linked with Match.com (reputable company) because there is a link straight to Match on the desktop page constantly.

UPDATE: Have chatted to quite a few ladies are they're all nice and normal. No scammers or anyone trying anything funny.

You constantly get contacted by girls using English places and are in fact abroad and give you email addresses to contact them by and account is then deleted. Think the site is run just for membership fees. If you enter some words in messages, you are instantly blocked,so messages are being mointored

Good - It’s free & there are no hidden charges.

Bad - there are a LOT of fake profiles on there but you can spot them a mile off.

1. Either no or just one pic.
2. A bio that doesn’t make much grammatical sense.
3. Messages that are barely readable.

I’ve been on and off there for around 5 years and met my (now ex) partner, we had 3 good years together so there are decent people that use the site.

I’ve been told on a few occasions that a lot of blokes use the site looking for sex. Wasn’t ever my agenda but hey ho, you’re going to get scummy sleaze on any free site.

If you want decent folk pay for Match, you really do get a better Calibre of people.

I have recently joined this dating site and I suspect it is no worse than paid dating sites. Already I have had links to paid dating sites. Yesterday I got a pop up box informing me that I had received what turned out to be a well thought out message from a lady which was a nice surprise and appeared to have credibility although no name or area stated plus a dodgy e-mail address supplied raised suspicions and it did turn out to be very likely sent by someone who just could not resist taking advantage of a vulnerable person. I unusually for this site from what I have been reading on other reviews posted a photo and honest profile of myself but unfortunately some people see that as an opportunity to exploit.

Few days ago and I joined freedating August and 2020 I thought is free first time check it out. It said it take 2 days to approve I waited a week nothing happen. Then I email freedating saying what happened. Next day I see I been suspended. Only reason I can see my name is Khan and am a guy. Pure racist this Dan. I just read views on this nasty greaser. I used it Id say around 13 years ago, I didnt find anyone. I ventured into the forums it was full of old people and I wasnt welcomed it seems (I was 21 then) so for a young lad like me it wasnt really what I was looking for. I tried to see who was round my area and there just didnt seem to be much doing and I never got any replies. I did meet one girl off it in the end which turned out to be a total psycho and still chirps up on facebook now and then under different profiles! I got fed up with it. I tried it again in around 2015 and again it just didnt work out for me, I was thinking of trying again but no way am I now after looking at the reviews. Also you have to give more info away and Im not doing that. This 'Dan' character sounds like a moron so I wont bother.

Made a profile. After 2 weeks of not verifying profile I sent an email asking when it could be completed only to have it banned for no reason. This dating site is a complete joke. Plus it filled my web browser with so many adverts and viruses alerts I wouldn't go back to try again. I read some of these 5 star reviews and they are clearly BS probably made by the one man who runs it.

I have used a variety of free and paid for dating sites and apps, and I like this site above all of the others.

Yes there is some sleaze and scammers but you soon learn to identify them and they are removed when reported.

Generally members do talk to you, I have made friends and had a few dates, although not anything that has developed.

The forum is great and new contributors are welcome and treated as equals.

I would say give the site a go, but you only get back what you put in. Happy dating guys!

I've been on FD site for many years and met my Partner on FD.
We've stayed on the site as we both have platonic friends that we are still in touch with.
Forums are what makes FD tbh but we need more participants.
Dating sites aren't for everyone but this one did work for me.

the site is free and has a forum - its not up there with the hip "stare at my phone" zombie crowd because it doesn't have DMing or "emojis"...because its a website, not a phone app.

most of the reviews on here seem to be a disgruntled ex user mentioning the domain owner by name, if they were fast enough to ban such a petulant person that it spurned them enough to write the aforementioned reviews, then the sites moderation team is top notch.

I have been on this site for years .
I've met some lovely people as there is a friendship option too.
It has an interesting forum .
I've had quite a few dates which didnt end up as long term relationship, not the dating sites fault .
If I've ever had any scam or offensive messages , the administrators dealt with it swiftly.
There are some very nasty reviews on here , which I view as being personal and malicious.
I certainly have never experience my email address being 'sold' on.
I'm surprised the obviously vindictive emails have been allowed to remain.
My advice try Freedating and make your own judgement.

This is April 2020, we're all supposed to be trying to practice social isolation during a viral crisis and was glad joined freedating not least for their opportunities to purely platonic chat with others. Its restricted, some might argue disciplined, one can't criticize others on the forums but that can be adjusted to. Have been entertained, educated and met another local. Winchester (the owner) is a serial piece of nastiness that loves dictating how people live their lives. He unfairly banned me from two of his other sites (fabswingers and fabguys) and then blocked me from even entering freedating out of spite
