Wow maybe I should have checked on here…

Wow maybe I should have checked on here before purchasing from George,as it seems they are awful and my incident isn't isolated to just me or a few but the masses.
I purchased a outdoor table and chairs ,selected the day of delivery. Booked the day off as annual leave ,( Wednesday)However item didn't turn up Wednesday despite courier advising it was a Thursday delivery they had and to take it up with George directly. I did showing them the conversation and confirmation that the item would not be delivered until Thursday and I wanted to know why,I msg them late Tuesday evening and again on Wednesday morning via FB messenger,I was told that delivery was coming today ( Wednesday) and I should wait in for delivery.Despite me showing the screen shots from the couriers. I insisted they check with their couriers they said they would but could give no time when they would come back to me and again to wait in as their system stated today ( Wednesday) I waited in All day loosing a day's annual leave ,the kids missing holiday club because I didn't want to miss the courier when I dropped and picked them up. It wasn't until 10.30pm Wednesday evening I then got a msg from George stating delivery would be tomorrow,I said again I was working and needed delivery before 12pm as I was on a late shift. The courier company wanted to charge me a further £35 and George wanted to do nothing to resolve it. The item turned up on Thursday but I lost a day's annual leave and my children missed holiday club and all they offered for the inconvience and loss caused was a £15 evoucher😡 when in fact that didn't cover a day's annual leave,far from it or even one of my children holiday club slot which had already been paid for. I asked for this to be escalated numerous times to a manager but was refused. The courier company have advised it was George's fault as they didn't provide the product in time. I will refuse to shop in-store and online now. I have asked for a full response to my complaint so I can escalate to ombudsmen which hasnt been done but I will take them to small claims for loss of earnings.

Very disappointing experience.

Very disappointing experience.
I ordered one item but received something completely different. This was their mistake, but returning it has been made difficult. The only free option is to return it in-store, which requires a separate drive and is very inconvenient. The only alternative is to pay to send it back, which doesn’t feel fair when the error wasn’t mine.
I also paid for delivery, which makes this even more frustrating. Overall, not a customer-friendly experience.

I placed an order from George at Asda…

I placed an order from George at Asda online two weeks ago. I happened to log back on a day or two after and saw they had 20% off . My items hadn’t been dispatched so I said I’d contact customer service and change my arm. They said basically I can cancel the first order and then reorder again at 20% off.
I’ve had delivery issues before so I knew the hassle of trying to get the first order refunded so I left it.
My order has only now been dispatched two weeks later to Ireland. I can’t understand why it’s so slow. I ordered previously and most times dispatch and shipping super fast. But the last time and now there is a huge delay. I don’t understand it.
Customer service as usual no help

Just awful 😞

Ordered a set of 3 shelves and a tray. The shelves had no screws in the box and one was damaged. The tray was filthy dirty.

Asdas response ‘go to the hardware store and buy some screws’ and we will pass on your message about the filthy tray.

Photo evidence provided for everything.

They are doing me a huge favour though by collecting the damage shelves tomorrow and once collected I am welcome to call them again to arrange a refund. Absolute joke, never again!!

George clothing are play clothes at best!

I used to purchase all my clothes from ASDA. Each season came with some lovely items, but what on earth has happened to the ladies fashions. They at best could be described as 'play clothes'. Baggy trousers, broderie anglaise sleeveless tops, t shirts. What on earth has happened to the classy workwear. Not all of us want to dress like we're 14!! Get a grip ASDA otherwise you'll lose me as a customer forever.

Plethora of issues!!

I placed two orders recently. The first was some kitchen bins - both arrived looking like they had been involved in a car crash- massive dents to the top and sides, I somehow managed to reach customer service and they gave me a pathetic 15% discount but better than nothing I really couldn’t wait any longer for bins.

The next order was for some plastic storage drawers and one set was fine but the other was badly damaged, not surprising because it was only packaged in polythene! I can’t for the life of me work out how to reach customer services now, it looks like they’ve recently updated their website and it keeps sending me in a loop! From my order page I’m promoted to visit ‘help center’ and that sends me straight back to orders. The AI chat bot is absolutely awful and doesnt know anything. The only options I can find are to either return it to an ASDA store to return it or PAY OUT IF MY OWN POCKET to return it via Royal Mail. Well if I could have transported a bulky set of drawers I wouldn’t have paid £8.50 for delivery, so I really need someone to arrange a collection or send me a replacement. Oh and the £8.50 I paid for next day delivery was already automatically refunded because they were late too! I found a phone number but if really rather message because I don’t have time to sit in silence waiting for them to answer for god knows how long!

I was also charged TWICE when processing my payment so I’m -£80 too! UGH!

Extremely disappointing experience

Extremely disappointing experience with George at Asda. I paid for my order along with an additional delivery charge specifically to have it delivered today — and it simply didn’t arrive.

What’s unacceptable is that, despite taking payment for both the items and the premium delivery service, there’s been no proper resolution. Instead, responsibility has been pushed onto the delivery company, leaving me stuck in the middle.

From a customer’s perspective, that’s not good enough. My contract is with Asda/George — they took my money, so they are responsible for ensuring the service I paid for is actually delivered.

To make matters worse, I’ve not been given a clear update or even a confirmed new delivery date. So I’ve paid extra for a guaranteed service that hasn’t been honoured, with no certainty on when I’ll receive my order.

This shows a serious lack of accountability and customer care. If you’re going to charge for guaranteed delivery, you need to stand behind it — not pass customers around when things go wrong.

Very poor experience, and I won’t be ordering from then again.

Ordered a beautiful fruit bowl

Ordered a beautiful fruit bowl, when delivered it was broken, my issue is I paid to have it delivered, it was damaged at no fault of mine and I have to pay to return it to get a refund as I live too far from the store. I also want a replacement but have to pay delivery again..so in all the delivery charges were more than the price if the bowl.

Asda and George are TWO separate companies

It appears that Asda and George are TWO separate companies online. Wanted to order online for collect/pick up and use Asda cash pot converted into e-voucher but was told cannot use it on George online. I was told by customer service member that I cannot go around requesting that e voucher to be used at George online. He was very rude. I was asking if I could as I won a competition that the had set to win some cash. I wanted to buy some kitchen wares. Shame on Asda for not making it clear about that George and Asda are not really partners online but in store only. Your advertising is very misleading

Do not order from George at Asda online!

I have placed many orders in the past with no problems and if there has been a problem it has been resolved. BUT now?! Customer service is no more. I ordered a few basic clothing items for my daughter that I need now. Collected the order and received completely unrelated items. Can they help me? No!!

P.S If you're missing some boys briefs - I have them!

Never ever order lamps from this…

Never ever order lamps from this company. I've ordered 2 now , the first one I never received and I lost the money. Second time was more expensive so I have been chasing customer services for weeks now. It's a joke!! No emails no refund. Just give me back my money!

dishonest and withholding refund for no reason

I purchased a toaster which broke after a few months. George customer service advised me to return it to one of the stores, which I did. My return receipt states the date of 19th January and promises the refund within 14 days. It's been months since, and I have not received the refund. I contact them on Facebook and each time they ask me for the same information which is a huge waste of time for me. I keep sending the same evidence of the order and the return, still, I have not had the refund. I have been through this same process three times now. I suspect this is just a tactic to delay and discourage me from pursuing further. Dishonest company

Wow ,the reviews are correct

Wow , I didn’t realise how bad this online shop was,wish I read the reviews first.
Ordered two pairs of ladies,shorts/t shirt pyjamas,waited patiently,they never showed and never showed but then it was Evri who was the courier,anyway arrived a week late,when I opened the bag it was loads of children’s clothes,omg couldn’t believe it,the ticket inside even stated it was supposed to be ladies pyjamas. Phoned customer service and yodel came and picked them up,then I had to phone again to tell them they’d been collected so they could send out the proper items,a week later I’m still waiting,no tracking to be had,so I’m just off to call them again. I’ll never buy from this company again online. Order no. 162558085

Ordered online to pick up in store

Ordered online to pick up in store, specifying a day for collection. Arrived on the day to be told my package wasn’t there and might not arrive until after 6pm. 3 days later I got the notice it arrived, went to store to be told it was ‘lost’. I was still getting notifications to pick up the package 10 days later even though I had been told it was lost. Almost impossible to get a refund sorted, had to call up several times. Not a good experience.

Missing items, so many issues and no contact details

So many issues with my recent order and then there is no way of reporting
an issue with an order other than sitting in a queue on the phone for ages. Firstly, items in my order were cancelled the day before they were due to arrive (not the first time this has happened), then the order was late. Once it finally arrived two of the items are missing and instead I’ve received completely different items (missing from someone else’s order perhaps). The worst part is though there is no way of going into my account or order to report that items were missing from the order.
Trying to find contact details sends you in circles. Clearly they’re not interested in helping customers

Such a disapointment

Well no matter what review you give after purchase it will not meet their guidelines unless it is all positive. This George /Asda is so ridiculous my review was simply this 👇
Disappointed
I ordered two of them and on both packaging was damaged. After careful examination I notice that on both of them there was a plastic corner hanger missing. Other than that items look very good quality.
Please tell me what is wrong with this review I change it twice and still it’s not meeting their guidelines
Where this world is going to you can not even give honest review any more to simply help others

We ordered for next day delivery and two days later we’re still waiting for our order in future I would never order from this company again our order was spilt between 3 different delivery company’s which made it much harder to track absolute joke

This is the first time I have had to…

This is the first time I have had to return an item to George at Asda. I always arrange a collection for my returns as I am housebound. This was a most fiddly and difficult process that went nowhere. Eventually I gave up, looked up their return address online and arranged a return/collection with Royal Mail. I should also mention that I first phoned them to arrange a return which was arranged for yesterday, and no one turned up to collect my parcel. Today I tried to arrange a return online without success.
It is such a shame that this set up lets down a company that I have had no complaints for up to now.
